Charming Cottage with Private Pool, elegant Spa and outdoor Kitchenette

CALMAR Cottage is situated in the northern parish of St. Peter, one (1) minute away from the world famous Mullins Beach and Royal Westmoreland Club and Indulgence Spa.

The Cottage is 5 minutes away from Speightstown and 15 minutes from Holetown where you will find local and international shopping, Restaurants, Post Office, Medical Offices and Banks.

On arrival at the Cottage guests receive:
- a complimentary bottle of wine
- bottled water and soft drinks
- a sample of sweet treats

This spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, cottage sleeps 1-6 persons in two (2) King beds and one (1) Queen bed.

All bedrooms are fitted with air condition facilities and flat screen televisions with cable. The Master bedroom has a King bed and ensuite bathroom.

Guests can enjoy Calmar's private pool or lounge in the relaxation area watching their favorite program on the 70inch television.

The Gazebo provides an intimate relaxing area with a 5-seater Sunrise Spa including Hydrotherapy Jets, LED illuminated waterfall and Bluetooth Audio system all surrounded by palms and tropical plants .

The Cottage also boasts a fully-equipped gym with an upper deck which may be used for yoga.

The outdoor Kitchenette and Barbeque area comprises a midnight-blue countertop and stainless-steel faucet. Cabinets provide storage and a small fridge is also provided. A Gas or Coal Barbeque Grill is provided.

The fully equipped and stylish kitchen has a beautiful granite countertop and backsplash. Stainless steel LG refrigerator, Double oven gas stove and Dishwasher compliment this ultra modern area.
A microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and kettle are also provided.

WiFi is available throughout the cottage.

For our younger guests we provide a crib, play-cot and a high chair.

Linen and cleaning services are provided for the Cottage every two (2) nights. Bath/Hand/Wash towels as well as Beach towels and Pool towels are provided.
The Cottage is equipped with a washing machine, ironing board and iron.

Transportation
Airport transfers to and from the Cottage are complimentary.
If you prefer to rent a car and drive from the airport we will meet you at the airport and escort you to the Cottage.
There is public and private bus transportation within 3 minutes’ walk from the cottage.
If you prefer to rent a car to tour around the island, the Cottage has a private car port.

Excellent, beautiful and safe location
The property was exactly as you see it from the pictures. Charles was an excellent host - made us feel very welcomed ( plus the treats were delicious!). The pool and jacuzzi were used everyday - the kids especially enjoyed. The location was perfect- walking distance to Mullins beach and local restaurants (Shea Shed a must). It is a quiet area and felt very safe as first time visitors.

Voor ons was dit een super plek! Net even weg van de drukkere straat in een prettige kleinschalige lokale buurt met vrijstaande huizen. Mooi afgezonderde tuin met fraai zwembad en jacuzzi. De gastheer en vrouw uitermate vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ondanks wat technische mankementen van apparatuur in het huis (die ook wel snel zijn verholpen) hebben wij het erg naar de zin gehad. Wat ons betreft is het wel handig om een auto te huren zodat je het eiland goed kan ontdekken.

Family holiday at Calmar Cottage
Perfect place for our family holiday. Charles is a great host and went out of way to make our first time in Barbados very special. Excellent location with plenty to do within walking distance around Mullins and Speightstown. We particularly enjoyed the lovely pool and garden in a peaceful neighbourhood.

The villa was exactly as described a 3 minute walk to the beach the pictures of the pool area don’t do it justice the pool is private and shady for the most iof the day the children loved jumping in the pool first thing in the morning

Wonderful house!
We loved staying at Calmar Cottage. It was a perfect location wtih a two minute walk to Mullins Beach and several restaurants. The house itself was comfortable. We loved eating outside on the veranda in the oasis of a backyard. We used the pool and hot tub everyday. Everyone slept comfortably on the beds in the AC. Plenty of ice and filtered water from the fridge. We also enjoyed seeing the monkeys in the mornings. We'd stay here again without hesitation. Charles and Eunice were lovely.

Lovely cottage
The cottage had everything that we needed and the hosts were attentive and responsive. We had formerly lived on the island previously so knew our way around. Mullins is a perfect area if you want to have everything you need within a few blocks. It is very safe and the Bay is spectacular. Good food choices for both local cuisine and more traditional preferences. Cottage has everything that you would need to eat in as well. Hosts take pride in their home and had great appliances and modern features. Hot tub was not working when we were there, but the worlds biggest hot-tub was a 5 minute walk away. Good value Thanks again

Monkeys, Monkeys, Monkeys
We woke up our second day with the famous green monkeys of Barbados in our back yard. There is a family of 7 (including 2 babies) that came often to enjoy the mango tree in the back of the house. We really enjoyed watching them. Other than that, Charles was a wonderful resource. He knows the island up and down. He gave us several suggestions on things to do and see. The house itself is convenient with a short walk to mullins beach. Try the homemade rum punch at the little shack on the beach. FYI. The bedrooms all have separate a/c units. But, the main part of the house does not have a/c. There was a large fan that we used to help with that. The pool and hot tub were used many times. Don't miss swimming with the turtles and the flower cave. They were highlights of our trip. Thanks again Charles!!!

Great place and great hosts!
Charles and Maxine were great hosts! Met us at the airport and had a home cooked meal waiting for us!! That was so nice to arrive to. The little backyard oasis was landscaped and lovely, to have as an alternate to not being on the beach. We surprisingly enjoyed using the hot tub even. Great location on the west coast, 3min walk to Mullins beach. The beach is quite close to the road, but once on it, hard to notice. Short drive to other close beaches, Holetown, golfing and easy to take a drive to the other side of the island. The road to cross to the beach was busy, except on Sundays, so had to take care when crossing. Small suggestions would be for the home to keep little beach chairs and a cooler for guests to use. Very caring people, lovely guest house which all made for a great trip to Barbados!! Thank you Charles and Maxine!

Beautiful!
This was our own private oasis. Simply beautiful! Charles and Maxine are great host and very helpful. The home was clean and had every thing we needed and the beds were so comfy. Walking distance to Mullins beach was a plus. Planning our stay for next year already! Highly recommended!

Wonderful host, wonderful house, wonderful location
We rented this wonderful house with another couple in February 2018. Charles met us at the airport (what a great bonus!) and drove us back to his wonderful house where there were amazing treats prepared upon our arrival. The house is located just steps away from Mullins Beach and you can spend your day in the sea or in his great pool. We spent our time in Barbados on catamarans (highly recommended), on various beaches, exploring the island or just resting at the house and in the pool. After 24 hours we felt that we had been there a week because we were so relaxed! Charles was around to help us with anything we needed and was able to provide fantastic advice about the island. He and his team are great hosts that we couldn't recommend highly enough! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Great stay with our family
We had a great stay at the Calmar Cottage. Charles picked us up at the airport, helped us to do our initial groceries shopping, and at the villa, Maxime welcomed us with a range of treats! We felt very welcome. The villa is great. Very well equipped and very clean. We loved the pool and the hot tub. The beach is very close (walking distance), so we could chose to stay at the pool or go to the beach. When we arrived our youngest child (2yrs) was sick and Maxime checked in on us the next day if all was ok or whether we would need help to get our child to the doctor. Very attentive. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay and if we come back to Barbados, we definitly would stay here again.

Perfect Barbados holiday
Charles, Maxine & the Calmar family, welcomed us with open arms. The villa is in an excellent location with the beach about a minute walk away. The villa has everything you need but if you want to go out there are 3 places to eat locally Bombas has the perfect setting and fantastic food, Mullins beach bar is more casual with also a great view food. We fine dined one night in Holetown at Tides wonderful service, food and view. We had the most amazing time and really enjoyed all the wildlife around. Thank you again for making our stay so special Lee & Ali

Absolutely fabulous place to stay !
My family and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Barbados. We found the cottage just what we needed and Charles and Maxine were brilliant hosts. The complimentary pick up and drop off from the airport was very kind, Charles not only picked us up on the 15th December but also picked my two sons up on Christmas Day. My husband found the gym better than anticipated, it was fully fitted with all the latest equipment and an air con unit. The pool and hot tub were great extras and were used most days by my family. The cottage was very well maintained, every other day it was cleaned and all towels and sheets changed so it really was a holiday. Its location was excellent, only 2 minutes walk to Mullins beach. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone, we loved it so much we all already made a reservation for Christmas 2017.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Our family has not stopped talking about our holiday stay here. We have already recommended it many times. Everything, I'm not kidding everything has been taking care of with beautiful detailing, stocked drinks and snacks, linens, the salt water pool, hot tub, the lush atmosphere,location and transportation. wonderful place to stay
What a fantastic first experience of Barbados. We had a weeks stay at the wonderful Calmar cottage, with our teenage children. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, with a garden that you could not fault for facilities. the pool was really enjoyable, and made it hard to leave the cottage even for the beautiful beaches. we really enjoyed the spa in the evenings; I thought it would be too hot to enjoy, but it was perfect for evenings, with the lights and garden set-up as a back drop. the outside kitchen area made barbeques very easy and convenient also. The hospitality we received from Charles was the best we have ever come across. he collected us from the airport and dropped us back off at the end (complimentary), provided us with a wonderful supper on arrival when we were tired, and also an excellent welcome pack of beautiful cakes, drinks, fruit etc. he was also on hand if we had any questions, and to help when we managed to lock ourselves out of the cottage (tip: use the hook on the back door so it doesn't shut in the breeze!!). Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt that we could ask anything. we really enjoyed the food on the island, and would really recommend Bombas (5 minutes walk from the cottage) , The Lone Star (bit more expensive but worth it), and Fish Pot (Speightstown). For exploring, it is useful to hire a car for part of the stay. For visiting, we would recommend the Animal Flower Cave, Mullins Bay, Bottom Bay. if you go to Harrisons cave, you need to wear shoes that cover your feet (no sandals/flip flops) if you want to do the walking tour, it is also at fixed times only so check the website first. All in, we had a fantastic week, thoroughly enjoyed Mullins Bay and Mullins bar. Many thanks to Charles and Maxine. Jenny, Andy, Meg Jamie

Wonderful

Perfect Stay
We have just come home from a two week stay at Calmar Cottage over Christmas and New Year. It was bliss. The pool was lovely and the hot-tub a bonus we had not expected. We rented a car and made our own way to the proper because we had been to the island before and knew our way. We had a warm welcome, drinks in the fridge, plus some beautiful cakes, fruit and a bottle of wine. They had also put up a fantastic christmas tree decorated with sea themed decorations. Under the tree was a gift for each of us. Very thoughtful. Maxine and Charles could not have done more to make our stay easier. Helping us book turtle trips and advice on the food truck (parks at the end of the road with some of the best food we had all trip) were particularly useful. If we wanted anything we just had to ask. The location is great a few minutes walk to the beach. The petrol station stocks emergency supplies and there are one or two places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk. The buses are easy if you want to go up to one of the nearby towns for more choice. We loved meeting Thor, the dog, plus his chums. They were so quite and well behaved as well as being adorable softies. The house is very well cared for and was cleaned every other day (allowing for festive holidays). The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the BBQ was a real bonus and we eat out on the patio at least half the time. The beds are very comfy and the air conditioning meant we all slept very well. The TV is HUGE. You need to remember the DVD player is not compatible with UK discs, we had our favourite christmas movie (Elf) on a US version so we were fine. Our flight home was not until the evening and as there were no guests that night we could leave our bags and use the outside shower to clean up after a day on the beach, this enabled us to get the very most out of our time and was very much appreciated. I only wish we knew what we were up to next Christmas, I would book again in an instant.

What a great stress free trip
Wow! what a great trip, a great stay and a great stress free time in Barbados. My family, including a 2 1/2 year old and a 22 year old, my husband and I had a fantastic time much due to the fact that Charles and his sister were so accommodating. The complimentary airport transportation was great for arriving and departing with no worries. they had some snacks in the house already when we got there and offered to take us to the grocery store for the first "stock up" as we hadn't planned on renting a car for a few days. Charles had great recommendation on truly "local" things to do, not just popular tourist things, but other things that he loves about the island. The property was perfect for our family, everyone had their own room, with their own TVs and ACs and the pool was a highlight every day. Great for lounging before/after the beach and after dinner on the patio. The beds and bathrooms were very nice and comfortable and the TV in the main room was HUGE! Charles helped us hire a car for a few days and directed us to see some great sights off the beaten path. he checked in with us often to make sure things were ok and answer any questions. A great resource we didn't expect. we were worried about how far this might be from the beach and 'nightlife/ activities' but it was less than a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach where we could rent jet skis, book tours, hang on the beach or eat at one of 2 nearby restaurants. Great location - very easy- with all the conveniences of a hotel only a fraction of the price. there is a convenience store on the way to the beach to pick up drinks, ice and ice cream when the feeling should arise. we have traveled to many Caribbean locations and have rented many different houses. Charles and his sister made this a special, personalized experience for us, the location was great to get to the beach and still have our own pool and the house was a comfortable place to come home to each night. I would recommend this with no hesitation...

Would Definitely Stay at This Property Again
Me and my family of 4 enjoyed staying at this property from 12 July 2014-22 July 2014. The owner of the property provided us with complimentary taxi service from the airport upon our arrival and departure. The taxi/van was big enough to accommodate my family and all of our luggage (approximately 7 large bags). I appreciate that the owner offered to order my family food, and asked if we had any special request for beverages,etc, since our flight arrived very late on 11 July. The property was clean and well kept. Cleaning services were provided every two days during our stay (provided a thorough cleaning). The property offers a computer connected to the internet and wi-fi free of charge. The property was stocked with dishes, pots/pans, etc to allow guests to cook if we so desired. A hot water maker is available as well as a coffee pot (I do wish they had a better coffee pot though as the one provided was old and stained....we Americans love our coffee). Air conditioning is providing in each bedroom. Cable television is provided in each bedroom, as well as living area. Bath towels, hand towels, and beach towels are provided. However, if you desire wash clothes you will need to bring your own. A washing machine is available for guest use. A clothes line is available to hang wet clothes. It had been a long time since I hung clothes on the line, but found it drys clothes and towels much faster than any dryer actually, due to the warm air and ocean breeze.The patio is very relaxing, and the property has a pool which lights up and provides a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The property is a 3 minute walk from the Beach, as well as the corner gas station/convenience store. It is also minutes away from the bus stops. The owner stays next door to this property and he checked on us daily. He was a good source of information regarding the local area. He was very friendly and personable. I would have to say customer service was excellent. I would recommend the property to a friend/relative.

Our cottage is quite close to the sea, and it is not usual to sit in the porch at hear the crashing waves especially late at night.
The neighborhood is quiet and friendly.
The gentle breeze on the porch and relaxation area is simply divine! .
