And walking is guaranteed to be the best way to discover the beauty of this city with almost 3000 years of history.
•Bairro Alto/Príncipe Real (3 min walking distance) is one of the landmarks of the capital, usually chosen by journalists, writers, models and actors. It is a place where you can find taverns, art galleries, Lisbon’s best shops and ateliers, in an exquisite association of modern stores and old boutiques. Nowadays it is one of the most desirable places to live or open a business. You can also experience Portuguese gastronomy and have a feel of the nightlife in some of the most famous Lisbon’s bars and small clubs.

•A 10 minute walk takes you to the Gloria Lift, a national monument that runs between Praça dos Restauradores and Bairro Alto.
•At Chiado, Baixa, Rossio and Cais do Sodré you have access to diverse public transportation (bus, train, tram and subway) that can take you directly to any point within the greater Lisbon area (including Belém, Sintra, Cascais or the International Airport). This place was gorgeous!
Maria's place was everything I had hoped for in terms of convenience and comfort. It was situated very close to the heart of Lisbon and all the main attractions. We actually walked to everything during the week that we stayed even though we had a rental car. The entire apartment complex was very well appointed with beautiful architectural details, however the highlight is the wonderful garden area with terrace views of the city. The doormen and maintenance staff were very friendly and helpful and the complex was very secured. I had hesitated originally about Maria's place because it didn't have air-conditioning, but this turn out to be not a problem at all because Lisbon had a constant cool breeze and the apartment was actually quite cool at night and very quiet to sleep in. We would definitely return for another visit.

Really lovely, but had a few faults.
The unit itself was Beautiful very clean and spacious loads of character and easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. The second bathroom has a shower fault that floods every time you use it and one piece of furniture was too rickity to use at all. Lacking in basic toiletries and any basic supplies which you usually see for this price. The unit is really only one bedroom and a pullout bed on the landing plus a sofa to sleep on. More suitable for a couple not really suitable for a family of five.

Perfect
A perfect location in a gated complex with 24/7 security. It's a renovated 1600's convent that survived the earthquake of the 1700's. Much attention has been paid to maintaining historical beauty. There is also an amazing shared garden in back for breathtaking views of sunset and city- including the 25th april bridge. Condo itself is nicely appointed with high end appliances and linens. Manager is very responsive. You will be away from noise of the nighttime party of Bairo alto, while being steps away.

Ottimo
Eravamo in quattro persone adults stavamo molto comodi. Arredamento elegante .

No recomendable

Could not have stayed at a nicer home or a better location. It was perfect!
My family had a wonderful time! We were welcomed at the airport by Maria's driver, who brought us to the apartment. Someone was there to meet us and show us around. The property was just as described... spacious, beautifully decorated and close to everything. It was like staying in a palace! Maria and her family made us feel incredibly comfortable and welcome. We look forward to a return visit!

Historic building in a central location
Pros: Good location close to lots of bars, shops and restaurants Very quiet Beautiful historic building with really nice gardens that overlook the city Sara is very responsive with questions/concerns Heating is very good and the towel rack with heat is a nice added bonus Cons: Unit is quite cold in decoration and lighting. The lights were very dim everywhere and if you wanted to plug in any devices next to your bed or couch there was very minimal lighting. There is no wifi upstairs which is frustrating when you are trying to search for a lot of things in a new city. They are restoring the building so ask first if construction is going on. There was scaffolding up outside most of our windows and construction in the hallway outside of our door. The person who met us to give us the keys was very sweet but didn't know much about the building or unit. Pillow quality not good Pillow quality lacking
