This fully furnished studio apartment, in my 1860s townhouse, is located in the historic district of Beacon Hill and is smack dab in the center of Boston. Anything you need (food, pharmacy, hardware, shoe repair, parks & libraries) and want (boutques, jewlery, bars, gift stores) is near-by.
The studio is dedicated to short-term rentals i.e. the closet and such are empty, but cooking equipment, towels and linens (100% linen) are complete. It is a real queen-sized bed ie not a pull-out couch. The studio is an amazingly quiet room, and also sunny. There are two flights of stairs, see photo.
You will be steps away from the bustle and vibrancy of Charles St.--the Hill's main shopping street--on which there are excellent restaurants of various Zagat ratings (and costs), bakeries, cafes, bars (Cheers), small food stores, many liquer stores, even more indie boutiques, art, antiques & jewelry stores, gift stores, dry cleaners with laundry services, shoe repair, hardware store (honored with Best in USA award), pharmacy (friendly, helpful service) and even hospital/MGH nearby. Whole Foods is within one-half mile and Trader Joe's even closer. The Back Bay is close by, with lots more stores to spend lots of money. Go for a run along the Charles River, grab a bike from the convenient bike share locations, kayak on the Charles, or in the winter ice skate on the Common. The terrific Boston Athenaeum is on top of the Hill and Boston's largest Public Library (BPL) with historic Sargent paintings, is within walking distance.
Boston's subway system, the MBTA--affectionately known as the T--is within an easy walk. There is readible accesibility to: the Red Line (both MGH/Charles St & Park St); Green Line (Arlington St & Boylston & Park St); Silver Line, and both the Orange and Blue lines. Or rent a city bike.
In one word: location.
The studio is of small size, as are most Beacon Hill apartments, but has all the amenities that you need, including for staying in and cooking. The shower measures 30" X 30". One guest, from South America, thought it very small, while the next guest, from NYC, thought it not. Hopefully, for you, it is 'just right.'
This apartment is dedicated to my personal guests and short-term rentals, so you will find the closet and drawers empty. No need to push over my personal belongings! The kitchenette and bathroom are both fully supplied with everything you will need. There is: WiFi; TV with cable; room air conditioner; coffee makers; free lending library; hard wood floors with carpet; photographs and paintings along with other decorations to make you feel at home.
