A cozy, quaint bunkhouse type cabin with antique decor to take you back to simpler days - Welcoming similar-minded guests. Occupants must have previous reviews, be over the age of 25 years and weigh under 250 lbs each please (due to vintage and antique furniture and wooden floors). During abbreviated daylight hours ie: December-February, please arrive before 7:00 p.m. or communicate what time you will be arriving. NO check in’s after 7:00 p.m. without communication or I will cancel your stay. A super quiet settlement, my place is across from yours (so you will have quiet neighbors) surrounded by mountains, valleys and canyons, to hike, photograph and enjoy! The cabin has one bedroom, one bathroom (an antique clawfoot bathtub with a shower hand sprayer that can be overhead mounted or removable for a thorough rinsing), it’s not The Hilton, a kitchen and living room, all living wares provided. While outdoors take a few steps to the north and west and you can see the White Sands in the distance. There is plenty of natural wildlife, birds and many creatures that call the desert their home. We have beautiful views and lots of places to explore, nightlife can be spent in town, or outside by the fire pit gazing at the star-filled heavens. We are excited to meet all guests and am looking forward to your stay. Thanks!!

We had everything we needed. WiFi was even good despite the remote location. Well stocked. Comfy bed. We would definitely stay again. The bath/shower could be improved but it gets the job done.
The cabin was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay! De gave great instructions so the place was easy to find, despite the remote location (which is why we booked it). Make sure you’re there to see the sunset/sunrise.
The cabin was located in a geographically spot. We loved the view of the mountains. Our host has thoughtfully provided everything you might expect in a fine quality hotel. We both like to cook and found the kitchenette fine for making meals. We would not hesitate to recommend the cabin to others!
Online description matches expectations. For the price you can’t beat it - clean, cozy, great setting, private, plus shower, dishes, outdoor seating, etc. Owner clearly cares!
Owner is very pleasant and accommodating - great communication. Dogs are definitely around but very friendly.
Seriously - perfect place to spend a quiet day/evening.

About the host

I am an artist and a very social, down-to-earth person. I love having visitors and will be around the place working during your stay since property ownership chores are endless! I love animals, horses and dogs especially. We have 6 dogs total, 2 little 12# ones that stay with my daughter and I have 3 Aussie/Collie types that are social, but they stay mostly inside since they are becoming elderly. We love our property so are honored to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
This property is so beautiful. It has a mountain range in my front yard (your backyard) and a red clay canyon 100 yards to the west...gorgeous! It is a hiker's paradise as well as horseback riding, mountain biking, there is skiing and snow sports not to far of a drive in the winter, namely Ruidoso and Cloudcroft and you can see white sands national monument sands from the back yard looking west. It is very different and very fun to explore and could spend a very long time doing so.
What makes this property unique
Our place is very peaceful and relaxed. You can sleep all day if you wish or be active with the many things mentioned you can do here. I am very social so will try my best to accomodate all of your needs to make you comfortable. I am reaching out to artists and musicians who need to escape from the hustle bustle of life and come here, clear your head and compose, write, draw, whatever you need to do.
