This villa was exactly as described. You definitely need a rental car. Bert, the manager, was great. The pool was dirty and having issues but he immediately responded once we let him know and worked on it. Would stay here again!!
We loved this beautiful villa. We were a group of 8 and we were very comfortable. The view is amazing and the breeze is plentiful and we welcomed it .No mosquitoes. Loved listening to the rooster and nearby cows mooing
A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the island. Very quiet all you hear is the waves crashing just what we wanted. Shout out to Bert who was an outstanding host. Would definitely rent again.
If you want peace and quiet, beautiful views and lots of space, this is the place.
The house could use a few upgrades… more ac, better lighting in kitchen, more chairs, night table lights… but overall a great house. We all 10 loved it.
Lovely place to get away from it all, but just know that getting to much of anything is 30-60 minutes of travel. It's a great property but just keep that in mind if you plan on going places every day.
Amazing view, just little discomfort no A/C on second floor , true the evening very humidity, rest very nice and homely setup. Thanks Derek , his always answer and help with everything.
Nice big house.
Private beach really not useable, as hard to get too and really not swimmable.
Definitely need a vehicle, as a drive to main attractions and stores.
Nice and close to airport.
Too bad there is not more air conditioning in areas of the house. Sleeping in the two bedrooms that had air was good.
Well priced, but that is because of the location.
Some appliances needed attention, fridge, washer, dryer.
The house has beautiful views. The property manager was responsible and helpful. Ms Jackies bar accross the street was great. The locals and the farm next door was a plus. Listening to the cows was an unexpected pleasure.
The house is not in a tourist area so we had difficulty with transportation and getting groceries. I would recommend renting a car if you plan on seeing the island not just the house.
Loved the property. We travelled as 5 women and really appreciated each having our own on suite bathroom.
My only concerns were, we were promised to be met at the airport to get directions to the property and that wasn't fulfilled, the pool wasn't cleaned upon arrival and we had to call several times before property manager came to clean it.
Toiletries were not automatically replenished mid week. Again we had to call, but ended up going to the store to buy as the properly manager never let extra toilet paper.
Also, no central air conditioning.
Other that than great property.
Views from the pools an decks were the highlight of the property along with great support from the owner during booking answering numerous questions before arrival, from Bert (property manager) during our stay who even brought us a brand new blender after we mentioned we didn't see one in the kitchen and from Jackie across the street who cooked us a wonderful birthday dinner. The constant breezes through the ocean front rooms made nights comfortable and bug free during our stay. Heavy Sargassum (seaweed) on the NE and SE beaches was disappointing since normally stunning Bottom Bay and Crane would have been convenient destination points from this location. Beaches were clear from Rockley westward (about 35minutes). All of the Caribbean is dealing with this... If looking for calming beautiful views away from the crowds, monkeys in the trees and an occasional stray cow in your backyard then this is the place for you!
This beautiful, well built Villa in Marley Vale made for a lovely to stay. The pool was cool and very refreshing, the listing mentions a hot tub, but it is just a separate sitting area for the pool. However, this was not a problem as it would have been too hot for a hot tub anyway. The rooms were large and comfortable, only 2 of them had air conditioning (as per the listing) but the air conditioner in one room went on the fritz a couple of times. We were able to get it back up and running except for the last night and we were told by Bert, the house manager that he wasnt able to fix it at that time.
Jackie's Bar and Grill across the street provided us with great food and wonderful company for 2 of our nights there and also prepared a delicious lunch of chicken wings, macaroni pie and salt cod casserole for one of our lunches.
This villa is a little off the beaten path, and quite a distance from Bridgetown, but there are frequent buses that stop close by which made for an interesting ride into town.
We had the pleasure of staying in a lovely home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is important to note that this particular part of the island has limited options for beaches suitable for day-long visits. As a result, we had to drive for 30-50 minutes each day.
Regarding the property itself, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, we did have a few suggestions that would make it even better. Firstly, we found that the stationary BBQ is located in an unlit part of the backyard, making it challenging to use after dark. Installing a lamp would be a wonderful solution. Secondly, we discovered that all the knives in the house were extremely blunt and that the sharpener was not functional. Lastly, we experienced an almost day-long interruption of gas service due to unforeseen issues.
Moreover, we found that the air conditioners were not functioning properly. While this was not a significant issue in the ocean-front bedrooms, it was uncomfortably hot to sleep in the other rooms.
Overall, we appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful home and provide feedback to improve future guests' experiences. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful but needed cleaning
Let me start out by saying, I know Barbados! My family is from Barbados and I lived there for 3 months at one time. The property was wonderful, the neighborhood was fantastic. Long walks, friendly people, gym right down the road, Jackies across the road is very sweet and provided a wonderful Christmas dinner, and a very relaxing feel. The ocean breeze was amazing. Nothing is close for grabbing something to eat or going to the store. However, this place should be a 4 star. Here's why it's not: The kitchen was almost inoperable. Kitchen isn't very clean, old food in all the cabinets and dirty rags made me sick to my stomach. Appliances didn't work and dirty. pots and pans were so old and badly scratched you couldn't use them for fear of getting sick. The bedrooms were nice. There weren't enough bath towels for 10 people and no soap for showering. These things you'll need to purchase. If you're arriving late, it's a challenge. Also, DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM BERT. Bert is a nice person, but his partner in the car rental is a very nasty and dishonest person. There was so much drama with those two!!! I hope that things can get cleaned up because I would not recommend this place to a friend.
Orion’s View is a wonderful villa with a spectacular view! We rented it for a special birthday celebration vacation and had 4 friends and family join us. It was a perfect size for the 6 of us. The setting was so peaceful with the beautiful views, ocean breeze, great ocean view balconies and spacious 1st and 2nd floor outside terraces. The villa is in a more rural area of Barbados which was perfect for our quiet getaway. It was still easy to walk or drive where we needed so we didn’t feel isolated. The farm next door provided great entertainment and I never thought I would say this, but I already miss the sound of mooing cows. The owner Kevin was very nice to communicate with. The property manager Bert is a great guy and he took care of all of our needs and made our stay very comfortable. Jackie who owns Jackie’s Bar and Grill across from the Villa, made us an authentic Bajan birthday dinner. She was so kind, her food was delicious and we were able to buy extra supplies from her. We cooked a lot of meals and the kitchen mostly had what we needed. There is a Dollar Wise store not far away to buy minor items and the grocery store was equally convenient for food and such. The pool was not heated but refreshing in the warm sun. We were prepared with bug spray for the mosquitos and they weren’t that bad. We visited The Crane Resort nearby for a couple lunches by the pool overlooking the cliffs and that was a nice place to walk around to see something different. We also went to the Crane Beach, the public side, and enjoyed an afternoon in the sand with coconut drinks. Overall we would highly recommend Orion’s View Villa and we hope to go back again in the future. Thank you Kevin, Bert and Jackie!!
My wife and I loved staying here. The owner Kevin and Property manager Burt made the experience easy and enjoyable. The house is massive and the property great for relaxing after exploring the island. Crane beach was a short drive away and was probably our favorite beach on the island. Highly recommend this property.
If you are looking for a large family house, or to get away from the crowds (and tourists), this is a good place for you.
The area around the house is rural and we enjoyed watching the monkeys and the farmyard animals. The neighbourhood is very friendly. The pool is refreshing after a hot day sightseeing!
Some areas of the house could use refurbishing, and there were a few issues during of our stay concerning the state of the kitchen and some other fixtures that were out of order. But Kevin our host, and Bert, his man on the island, did their best to take care of these, and to make us comfortable
They were very attentive to our needs.
Tips for travellers coming in future: bring lots of mosquito spray, as they can be quite evident if you spend much time out of doors. Also if bringing your own sheets, the master bed is queen sized. Car rental from Mark , who is local, is highly recommended with great service. Try Jackie's bar across the street for delicious meals and she will also sell you Banks beer when you run low!
Beautiful view! We were quarantined longer than expected, 2 recvd test back in 24 hours the rest of us after numerous phone calls we recvd them 3 days later. Thanks to Jackie for making us dinners and to Bert for picking up some staples from the grocery store. They were life savers while in quarantine. Being quarantined with the view and the pool was fine for me. Loved being off the beaten path.
This is a lovely property which appears exactly as in the photos, which is usually not the case with other properties. It is very spacious with comfortable furnishings and eye catching decor.
My family and I stayed three nights and are already looking into returning in the next six months.
Thanks go to Bert for being very accommodating.
We had a wonderful time at Orion's View during a 2 week stay. The view was beautiful. It was so nice to get up in the morning to the sound of the waves and wonderful east breezes. The house is very large, plenty of space for my husband and I and our 2 guests. We also loved Jackie's delicious local bajan cooking. She is right across the street and will make dinner for you...a great house but also in a local neighborhood, just what we love about Barbados!
Beautiful home with amazing views. Kevin and Bert were both very responsive and excellent throughout the booking and checkin process. The home is on the east side and a little off the beaten path but we quite enjoyed the quiet. Daily visits from goats, cows, birds and occasionally a green monkey were great. The views are simply amazing and we ate almost all our meals outside.
The home is in great shape but it is a rental so does show some wear and tear. They obviously work hard to upkeep the property. The pool was very clean and well maintained, it was essential to cool off during the day. The beds are comfortable and linens clean. Only 2 rooms are air conditioned. The bathrooms are clean but some of the toilets require some manipulation to flush properly, maybe getting lightly worn out.
The kitchen was stocked with some essentials and six roads had a great grocery store and Bert will take you there on the way to the rental.
Jackie is great, if you want to know anything about the area go ask her. She can sell you beer and rum to save a trip to the grocery store. Also her rum punch is amazing! We would highly recommend her services for dinner. We had chicken, fish and ribs, all were amazing.
Overall this a great property to enjoy with a larger family. Also a rental car is essential to enjoy the island properly from this location. Would definitely recommend this location. We miss it already!
We stayed six nights at Orion’s View. The property was lovely, with the exception being the mosquitoes were out of control! No matter how much DEET spray we used, some of us were eaten alive. We did ask the house manager (Bert) about mosquito netting for the beds, as there are hooks above each bed, and he said that people took them down as it made the beds too hot to sleep. Would have been nice to have the option, but we mostly survived. One of our friends checked out and went to the crane for the last two nights of our stay.
Pool was lovely and refreshing, and we spent a lot of time in it.
Kitchen is well equipped, we were able to find everything we needed to create meals. Though if you didn’t feel like cooking, Jackie across the street is available.
Owner, Kevin, is responsive to emails and made the process so simple. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us. We plan to return!
Hello we are new owners to the property. We purchased the villa for our own family use and have been working to improve it ever since. We are only able to use the villa a couple times per year but we decided to continue sharing it,
Why they chose this property
The villa truly enjoys one of the nicest views on the whole island with panoramic views to the Ragged Point Lighthouse which is on the Southeast corner of the island and North to Culpepper, Skeetes Bay and Martins Bay. The sunrise is absolutely incredible with the full ocean view
What makes this property unique
The property always seems to have a nice breeze. The view is of the southeast coast and always has big beautiful surf. The villa has 5 verandahs that overlook the ocean. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom. It's a wonderful area to just go for a walk to the lighthouse or a hike along the coast. Some of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean are very close by as well.
