The luxury villa is in a quiet but convenient select development in Yenibogazici near Salamis. The local sandy beaches, part of Famagusta Bay are accessed a short distance away along the coast by car where the Local Authority have created car parking and landscaped areas. Throughout the whole year it is possible to experience the beauty of this Mediterranean country. In this idyllic location it is possible for one to enjoy local life within the beautiful tranquil surroundings. The area around Salamis is rich in culture with the Salamis Ruins being a very popular tourist attraction situated a few minutes drive from the villa. Whilst most tourists flock to Kyrenia with its picture postcard harbour the area has seen considerable development in recent years whilst Famagusta and Salamis offers a much quieter relaxed environment.

Beautiful villa, beautiful holiday
I came with a group of 6 people and overall our stay at the turtles villa was delightful, very spacious and nicely decorated, air con in all bedrooms was a god send as the outside temperature was in its 30's. Huge pool outside of the villa was perfect for relaxing on the days you cant be bothered to go to the beach!! Also the fruit trees in the garden are a lovely touch :) booking with Colin was swift and easy, will definitely be booking again!
Enjoyed our stay in this Villa, but for the lack of a BBQ. May be this is just because I am a Cyriot

Lovely large Villa, with the use of the swimming pool. Great for a family get together.
We stayed for 3 nights. Good cooking facilities if you want to stay in. Good restaurants if you want to go out. We also found a very good Chinese Takeaway on the outskirts of Famagusta, left a menu at the Villa.
The beaches are not that clean as so much plastic and rubbish, which is a shame but seems to be the norm for Northern Cyprus. We enjoyed the ruins of Silamis and old town Famagusta.
The house was perfect for the 6 of us 😊
Communication was great. Pool was wel kept and the neighbours were nice too. Highly reccomend :)

Lovely villa in a quiet location
A spacious villa (especially as there were only the two of us!) set close to the main road between Famagusta and Iskele, which feels very much like a home from home. Not quite warm enough in November to use the pool, though it looked very inviting. The villa is a comfortable base for visiting the eastern side of North Cyprus, with both Famagusta and Iskele a short drive away. (A car is definitely recommended for North Cyprus) The more developed northern shore is under an hour away by car. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and beaches are a 5-10 minute drive. All the restaurants we ate in were great, but if you want a real local experience, we'd recommend Mertekli Meyhane in Mutluyaka, and have the fixed menu (Warning - go when you're VERY hungry!). Also don't miss Petek Patisserie in Famagusta Old Town (and a local branch in Iskele) There are plenty of other recommendations in the visitors book, you won't be short of places to see or eat. Jackie who looks after the villa is also very helpful. A great stay - thank you!
P.S. if you drive out to the Karpas peninsula, you'll need carrots or some other vegetable/fruit to "pay" for access to the road past the monastery - you'll find out why!

Loved our time at the villa
Relaxing and peaceful time at the villa, the kids have loved the pool. Do hire a car to enjoy the surroundings including releasing the turtles which was amazing. Lots of good eateries in nearby Famagusta. Kyrenia is a good day trip. City Mall in Famagusta worth a visit as is the short drive to Salamis Ruins. The local Famagusta beach is good for snorkelling with a few different fish. We hope future guests enjoy your stay as much as we did.

casa grande occoglente e ben attrezzata

Best time ever.
We were a group of 7 and we had a lovely time in the villa, we stayed there last summer aswel it's a lovely place and the area and neighbours are also all very lovely.
Colin is so helpful with everything we needed, and responded to any emails instantly.
Will 100% be booking again in the near future. It has become a home away from home for my family. Thank you.

Superb Villa with Fantastic Pool
The villa was everything you needed, home from home but with the bonus of fantastic weather! Spacious, clean and well equipped, superb pool, very large and immaculately maintained. Although technically shared, there was direct access from the villa's garden and despite using it extensively we always had it to ourselves. A car is probably needed as stated in the advert, Famagusta and Bogaz with shops, bars, beaches and restaurants are just a short drive. (There are also couple of good local bars/restaurants within walking distance) We found that having the car encouraged us to get out and explore - some great beaches, ancient sites, excellent restaurants with delicious food and interesting history to discover! Overall a brilliant time, will be definitely be back.

Turtles!
The house was very inviting and Sarah the manager was amazing and very helpful. I will say though... Initial arrival we had a small flying ant situation and then some tiny ants in the kitchen... Not a big deal though. I bought a couple ant traps and Sarah came with some insect killer to help fix the situation.
The furnishings are a bit done and dated... But the space is ample and as long as you make sure you have enough water all runs smoothly. Fairly close to Famagusta about 15 min with a car. About an 1hr 15 min to Girne. An hour to Lefkoşa. As for easy beach access? Not quite what I was hoping for... There is no easy walking to the beach or pedestrian walkways over the highway. If you have a bicycle maybe. But a car is necessary. However if you can't get to the beach.... The pool is a gem.... Salt water heaven that I didn't get to utilize enough... Great travel agency just up the street within walking distance... so if you need a rental car or something he can help you out... Asilsoy Turizm. His name is Kemal. Speaks some English and super helpful. I also took it upon myself and left some local tourism brochures in the table by the front door so the next visitors have something to look at to help decide what they want to do with their day ;) After my experience there I would gladly rent from Colin again! I'm looking forward to it now that I know a bit more about the area since we were there for 44 days. Can't wait to come back again! Thank you Colin, Ann and Sarah!

About the host
Hosted by Colin Horsley
The villa is owned by Colin and Ann - We live in North Yorkshire, and are in our mid 50's. We have two children, Rebecca, who is currently an Overseas Recruitment Officer at University of York; and Dominic, who is a highly qualified cocktail bar tender in York. We are looking forward to the time when we can finish working and spend more time in our villa in North Cyprus.
Why they chose this property
We went out to North Cyprus many years ago, and fell in love with it straight away. The people are so friendly, good food, great beaches near the villa and along the Karpas Peninsula that have to be seen to be believed and a great climate - it was a very memorable holiday. After returning from our first trip we promised ourselves two things, firstly that we would be back soon, and secondly if we ever had the money then we would buy a villa on the island. By good fortune we have done both!!
What makes this property unique
Some people prefer the area around Kyrenia, which has been a much stronger area of tourism development in recent years. For ourselves, we prefer the Famagusta/Salamis area, as it is more peaceful, whilst still having plenty to do, as Famagusta is near enough for shopping, whilst Bogaz in the opposite direction is a beautiful small fishing village. Beaches are abundant and of a quality you struggle to find elsewhere.
