Brecon Cottage
Brilliant cottage high up on the hillside above Crickhowell. The cottage was warm, comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen and an amazing playroom full of toys and kids videos. We stayed during Storm Bert and were trapped by floods on one of the days, but there were plenty of things to keep us entertained in the cottage and a wonderful log burner to relax in front of. On the doorstep is a very good walk and a great garden for the children. It is up a steep lane, but that makes views are amazing. Would certainly use the property again for an extended family holiday.
I have never stayed in a place that has surpassed my expectations as much as this one. We were greeted with a huge amount of space overlooking the beautiful hills of the Brecon Beacons. The house and garden are extremely well equipped, we were not in want of anything. There are plenty of lovely walks directly from the cottage and Brecon Park Boats at the bottom of the hill road was a good day out. I would definitely stay here again.
We were thoroughly impressed with this stunning accommodation. The house itself was super with plenty of room for two lively families of 5. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed a number of walks in the area. Will definitely return.
Excellent property for a family stay. 3 generations with different needs and this house fulfilled those. Fantastic location for privacy and safety. Well equipped with everything you would need. Loved using the baby carrier for walks. Lots of games and entertainment for all’s loved it! Owner was great making suggestions before our stay on places to visit.

Fabulous
We had a lovely weekend staying in this beautiful cottage. Everything was perfect. The kitchen diner is huge and we spent most of our time sitting eating around the table. Everything is clean and fresh. The views are spectacular. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be back
Lovely family home surrounded by beautiful countryside
We had a really lovely stay, 3 families with 3 children ages 1.5, 3 & 5 who absolutely loved climbing up the little hills behind the cottage and sliding down. Gorgeous walks straight from the cottage for even the little ones. Great parks, cafes and shops in the local villages, and lots to explore a short car journey away.
The cottage was incredibly well equipped - by far the best equipped we’ve ever stayed in! Lots of toys for different ages to play with. Disappointing that the climbing frame is no longer available (slide is) but the trampoline and ride on tractors went down very well. No pool table but outside table tennis - too windy and wet when we were there so didn’t get a chance.
Hosts were very helpful throughout our stay and with check out.
This is our third time in the gorgeous property. The photos don’t do it justice - the kitchen living area is ideal for a family group and the bedrooms and other living spaces have everything you need for a really comfortable stay. And the view is unbeatable.
Can’t wait to come back again
A perfect house for a group women friends. There’s plenty of space and it has smart, high quality feel. A fabulous view, peaceful and away from the hubbub of life in a city. Thank you for a superb experience

Amazing location, views are incredible
We booked this house as it seemed to have a really large kitchen/diner that we thought would be ideal for the group of us and all of our dogs. We were not disappointed. It was a fantastic space and we didn't even use the other two lounges! Upstairs was equally spacey.
The garden is fairly secure for dogs, not secure at all for small ones as they can easily get under the gate and if you have ones that jump fences then they aren't particularly high in places.
The walking from the doorstep is excellent, a short hill up to a really lovely grassed path that stays flat and meanders for at least a mile to some caves. The views from here are spectacular.
The walk down the valley to the nearest pub involves a lot of stiles (dog lifting) and if you take the road then it's a mega hill back up. We drove down and found it really easy to book a taxi to take us back up.
There are so many really good walks just a short drive from this house, Sugar loaf, Table mountain etc it really is a fantastic location if walking is your thing.
Location is beautiful with spectacular views. The property has everything. We kept busy on the table tennis table, play station, books and games galore and of course the wonderful garden. Would highly recommend.
Stunny location, wonderful stay and well equipped house!
This house is in a beautiful location, with lovely walks on your door step (for all abilities). We stayed as a mixed age group - older adults, adults and some little ones and the house was great. Loads of space for us all, very comfortable beds, and in a fantastic location - not just for the views, but close to the village (5 mins drive), and plenty of other attractions and sites nearby! Would stay again and would certainly recommend to others! Fab.
We've just returned from a weekend stay at the cottage and we have had an amazing time. The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped and spacious. We were two families with four children aged 5-13 and with so much for the children to do we hardly saw them all weekend. The views are breathtaking and the location is peaceful as you are on the side of the mountain. We will definitely book to come again.
Beautiful cottage, very considerably equipped with just about everything you need...including things like extention leads etc. The location is quite high so the views are out of this world!! Lovely walks from the door.
I expected the cottage to be quite cold but it is warm and cosy. Bed in master bedroom one of most comfortable I've ever slept in.
As a family we just wanted some time-out and relaxation and we couldn't have chosen a better spot.
Neil (the host) was very good with communication and always responded promptly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage and I hope to visit again.
A beautiful property with a new kitchen, carpets and decor. The location not only provides wonderful views, but a number of stunning walks from the door. The nearest town is the delightful Crickhowell. The property was provided with free logs, soap and washing up liquid and kitchen basics. There were some minor hick ups when we arrived due to house improvements delayed because flooding in the valley has disrupted plumbing supplies. The owner was always contactable and resolved these issues very promptly
Property was perfect for a large group as the kitchen and lounge comfortably accomodate 8 people for relaxing, eating and cooking. Bedrooms were all very comfortable.
Really nice comfortable clean house. Beautiful rural location ideal for experienced hill walkers. Ours was a family gathering & we had a great time.
Minor issues were finding house in the dark & opening the key safe. ( we needed a torch ) & a decent sign at the end of the driveway saying whitewall cottage would have been helpful.
Would recommend to others.
Absolutely perfect. Fantastic canal walks, great shopping in Crickhowell. Wonderful eateries nearby. We were nine in total
ranging from 16-76 years in age - perfect for all and the log fire
the icing on the birthday cake!!!!Should have stayed longer.

Eight adults and two children were very comfortable, and the weather was beautiful. The road to the cottage was a little tricky at times, but after a few days we were all used to it.
We had a wonderful stay here with friends and family. Lovely walks from the cottage along the escarpment & it is very well equipped with everything you could need. Quite a steep drive down to the shops but we had a Waitrose delivery at the start of our stay and we spent lots of time in the garden enjoying the beautiful views.
This was a charming renovated cottage, plenty of room for everyone, great kitchen (one of the cabinet doors need repairing). The view was spectacular, and I don't know how m any people get 6 consecutive days of sunshine! If we are ever lucky enough to return to Wales we would head straight back to Crickhowell!
We are a group with young children (under 3y). The house has everything we needed and the views are amazing! Loved it and hope to come back sometime.
