The cabin was beautiful and wonderfully stocked with everything you could need. The creek and scenery were breathtaking. The perfect place to unwind from the world.
This place was so relaxing. We were there for 5 days and our kids had so much fun. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to make meals (just need to bring the groceries). We will definitely be coming back. Everything was so lovely. We really enjoy it.
This is out 2nd stay in this home and it is perfect. Right on the creek with large windows so you can see the creek from most all rooms. Fully stocked kitchen. Easy access roads and private. Had fun in the creek and it is close to shopping. Will be back for more trips at this home!!!
Very well equipped, cozy and enchanting cabin. The location couldn't be better and it's convenient to everything we wanted to do. The flowing water sound from the creek is so relaxing and the wood fireplace tops it all. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back next year.
This delightful cabin was just as pictured, but what the pictures can't convey is how the surroundings wrap you like a blanket. We basked in the warmth by the fire both inside and out to the music of the creek. We did encounter some problems with maid service, which either hadn't come or hadn't finished the job, but the owner of the cabin responded promptly to our message and took steps to make things right. Be prepared to bring some window coverings if you like extra privacy or light filtering for the upstairs bedroom and bathroom.
Such a beautiful property. Very challenging to find at night. We actually were trying to get into the wrong house. Oops!! Poorly marked. The rushing river is literally right outside the door and adds a backdrop of constant sound and beauty. It is very off the beaten path and no town nearby which is what we wanted. Peaceful solitude. Lots of steps and slippery terrain so be prepared for that. Would not recommend for anyone with any mobility concerns. Beautiful natural setting. No supplies such as coffee or paper towels so come prepared. No store nearby!
We only stayed a couple nights and I wish it could have been longer. The cabin was so cozy and clean and the layout of the house and property was amazing.
When we packed and left for our vacation to Haysville, we had no idea Category 4 Hurricane Ida would hit our home in Louisiana. This cabin was so peaceful and secluded, just the distraction we needed to ride out the storm raging at home. My boys STAYED in the creek. They played till the sun went down. The windows are incredible. I loved watching them play while I cooked! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Go check out Leatherwood falls, only a couple miles from the cabin.
As we head back to rebuild our home, we have a lot of peace in our hearts. A lot of that is due to this great place. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We'll be back
The quiet scenery and the stream just outside the door made the cabin's location perfect. The cleaning crew kind of spoiled it by leaving sticky tables, small trash/dust bunnies under chairs and bedside tables, and a stinky garbage disposal that sounded like a rock grinder. The upstairs bathroom needs at least something for the window facing the road (and other cabins) for toileting privacy. Lastly, the upstairs bedroom has no place to hang clothes nor curtains to darken the room from the bright early morning sun. Regardless, it was peaceful with the stream gurgling by the cabin.
If you're looking to take your family someplace quiet to get away and decompress this is the place. We stayed for 9 days and it was great. The house comes equipped with everything you need. Our kids (17 to 4 years old) were in the stream every day either swimming, fishing, tubing, or checking out the beautiful river rocks. Yes the water was freezing but kids never care about that. We did go and buy them little wet suits from Walmart in the town up the road and that helped a little with the cold water. We sat outside every night by the firepit and ate S'mores. The bear came by one night and tried to tear the trash can apart but he didn't succeed. Ha! We ate dinner out one night in Hayesville at Marilolinos and everyone in our group enjoyed it. There's a waterfall not far with a little hiking place on firescreek wildlife rd. It rained one night and with that and the metal roof it was one of the most pieceful night sleeps I've ever had. Being out there made us want to purchase our own mountain cabin with a river/stream outside. It truly was peaceful. Our kids didn't want to leave. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
The positive:
It was clean, tidy, the view is to die for, the kitchen was very well stocked, the cabin itself is adorable, it's near town to buy groceries and such, and during the warmer months there is tubing and other outdoor activities nearby. There are people nearby, but you are distanced from them enough to still have some privacy.
The negative:
I consistently smelled gas in the downstairs bathroom and hallway. It was unnerving. The shower water reeked of iron and we rushed thru showers because of it. The main bedroom mattress was to me, very uncomfortable. I woke up with an aching back each night. Lastly, the surveillance cameras were a HUGE turn off. I would probably not return unless these items were addressed.
I really do applaud the owners for such a pretty well kept place. We came for a short weekend anniversary trip away from our busy lives and 4 kids, and we did relax. The creek is amazing and we basically lived at the fire pit.
Great place for children. Plenty of room to run and play. Beautiful views. Great fire pit, especially when firewood is provided. Fore fisherman that want to sneak away, a very good delayed harvest area just a couple of miles away. House is very accommodating. Very satisfied.
This was hands down the best cabin experience I have ever had. Already making plans to come back!!

A Sad Experience
I had reserved this cabin for 3 nights on October 28, 29 and 30 because I love the Fires Creek area. This was my 2nd location on a week long trip..
The moment I arrived and opened the door a very strong odor hit me. I opened as many windows as I could, unplugged 2 old plugins that apparently was where the smell was coming from. I turned on fans that were available in the cabin. Nothing worked. The master bedroom had the smell the worst. I believe someone had spilled a plugin on the rug in that room. I also tried to light a fire in the fireplace and could not find any directions on where and how to open the fireplace damper. I called the contact number but had to leave a message. When no one returned my call after an hour, I text the number. Someone finally called me back but was unsure how to open the damper. I finally figured it out myself. Even a fire didn’t relieve the smell. I got about an hours sleep that night and at 7 am the power went off to include no water. I text again and was told it would be reported. I also notified them about the horrible smell and that I couldn’t breath, my eyes burning and my throat was closing and needed to leave.
After arriving back home in Florida, I text inquiring about the deposit refund and if they would be willing to refund any other money due to the fact I wasn’t able to stay. The response was only the deposit would be refunded and since it was a “holiday” weekend they would not refund anything else. I didn’t know Halloween was an official holiday.
I come up the North Carolina every fall and have stayed at many cabins in several different areas. I have always had the best time. This experience was quite depressing. Unfortunately I cannot give a positive recommendation for this particular cabin.
The property on Fires’s Creek in Haysville, NC is a very peaceful spot. The house is very nice and I loved that the creek runs beside it. It is a great place for walking, hiking, and just relaxing. I have stayed here two times and love it.
The house had everything you need. The property is literally feet from the creek. We spent our nights lighting a campfire and waking up to the sound of the creek. It never it’s old. Very cozy and relaxing! Thank you!

Why they chose this property
We visited this area for years and fell in love with the lush vegetation, solitude, and the sound of Fires Creek. Spend time here once and you will never want to leave.
What makes this property unique
The views from the house and the direct proximity to the creek are some of the best features. The solitude and acreage help to ensure privacy. Even though you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere the town of Hayesville is only a 10 minute drive away. Fish, tube or play in the creek. Hike on the 24 mile fires creek rim trail. Visit the unique mountain towns of Hayesville, Blue Ridge, Murphy and Brasstown. Roll the dice at the new casino. Golf and treat yourself at the Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa.
