Close to the shore of Lake Vinuela this superb 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom open plan property with large open and covered terraces leading to the superbly furnished completely self-contained accommodation. The villa is also one of the best equipped at Lake Vinuela with air-conditioning throughout, outside is the 9 x 4 solar heated
pool with adjacent pool house with shower and wc, there is also an attached outside fitted kitchen, jacuzzi, swing and slide for 3-12 year olds, table tennis and a Nintendo WII plus much more. There are 3 separate dinning areas, alfresco under the vine covered pergola and the stars, or on the terrace plus in the villa all dinning tables seating 6 comfortably. With the imaginative planting the sunbathing areas are both sheltered and private, the ideal place to relax taking in the amazing views of the lake, mountain and white washed villages.
NEW FOR 2015/16
We have installed the latest Solar pool heating technology. This solar system pumps water from the pool up to the solar panel and then back down to the swimming pool gradually increasing the pool temperature. Of course along with increased Swimming pool temperatures comes Algae & Micro Organisms so we have also installed an Ultra Violet water sanitation system with all of the swimming pool water going through the Ultra Violet light destroying the Algae & Micro Organisms plus it reduces the need for so much Chlorine giving a better quality Swimming pool water.
The accommodation and facilities are all on the lower level, the upper level is used for storage.

Outstanding views and situation

We have just returned from a 4-week stay over Christmas and New Year. The property and location surpassed our expectations. Everything was catered for, and it was incredibly comfortable. The views were stunning, and were particularly enjoyed from the hot tub! Plenty of local villages to explore in the vicinity, and we were only 30 minutes from the coast. Keith was wonderful host, and very quick to respond to any queries. We also really appreciated our welcome pack on arrival.

Geweldig uitzicht

Ons verblijf is jammer genoeg door aanwezigheid en overlast van vele wespen buiten en wat ongedierte, mieren en pissebedden in huis en in het zwembad, niet helemaal geworden wat we gehoopt hadden. Het huis en uitzicht en faciliteiten geweldig..bedden zijn wat aan kleine kant voor 2 personen vonden wij, 1.40 /1.60 mtr breed maar das een persoonlijk iets en in grote slaapkamer wat doorgezakte matrassen. Het huis is verder overcompleet en echt alles is aanwezig. Het zwembad met poolhouse en de jacuzzi zijn echt super. Ook vonden wij achteraf door de prachtige ligging de afstand naar de winkels en strand wat ver met een baby..het laatste stuk weg vanaf de grote weg naar het huis mag zeker wel benoemd worden in de beschrijving want het is een onverharde weg met veel gaten en kuilen. De communicatie met de eigenaar verloopt heel soepel en hij doet er alles aan om het zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken maar sommige dingen heb je niet in de hand zoals de wespen en de mieren en pissebedden maar is het erg vervelend als je er wel als gast mee te maken krijgt. Het is misschien een erg kritische recensie maar voor het geld wat we voor twee weken betaald hebben vinden wij dat we dat zeker mogen zijn.

Tranquility

Villa Maria is wonderful with a host who clearly cares about his guests and communicates brilliantly. We were very comfortable and loved the bed linen, pillows and abundance of soft towels (though we only used what we needed). The kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering holiday and there are books, DVD’s and games galore for those who want them. It was nice not to have to purchase the essentials such as vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and dried herbs and the welcome pack was very generous. Keith caters for all ages and we took full advantage of the pool table in the evenings when the sun had gone down. We had the most relaxing holiday, travelling out by car for nice lunches in the day time and returning for a daily swim in the pool (what a pool!) and lazy evenings with drinks and snacks taking in the views across the reservoir to the mountain. We thoroughly recommend this villa. (Just to note there are steps down to the accommodation from the car port providing shade for the car and this is the only way to get suitcases in which may challenge some people depending on the weight they are carrying.) Thank you Keith – we had a great vacation.

Outstanding views...

We stayed in Keith's property for 5 weeks over Chrismas. The location was perfect for a relaxing and peaceful holiday while still being accessible for days out. Nerja, one of our favourite towns is only 45mins away and we visited Malaga, Ronda and Benalmadena to name a few. You do need a car to stay here but the views are worth the drive and our dog loved the garden. The villa was well equipped for a long stay, very clean and well kept and communication with Keith before and during our stay was spot on. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa, we hope to visit again sometime.

What a villa

Absolutely lovely villa. It isn’t overlooked and has excellent views across the lake and mountains. Rooms massive, immaculately clean and well appointed. Pool house was well used and we used the pool from dawn through til early hours. Keith was superb. We accidentally broke the cafetière and contacted him to find out where to buy a replacement. Within a couple of hours one appeared at the doorstep with his compliments. Restaurant El Charco is about 5 min drive and was definitely our favourite, close second was the Indian restaurant Chez Epices. Can’t wait to return.

Amazing Villa

We have just returned from spending a week at Casa Maria and have had an amazing relaxing week. The Villa has everything you need and more with lots of extra special touches to make sure you have an amazing stay and everything is top quality. The view from the Villa is stunning as is the Villa and everything has been so well thought of the pool house area with fridge, sink, bbq , seating area , toilet and shower not forgetting the hot tub. Wonderful return visit

We love this property and area having visited 3 times now. The facilities are great with plenty to entertain such as table tennis, pool table, bbq and swimming pool. The air con was very good especially during the recent heatwave and we found a shady spot on the terrace to enjoy breakfast. The property is spacious and fully equipped. New cushions and covers for the loungers were a good addition. Keith was really helpful before and during our stay. Immediate response via WhatsApp when we needed it. It is very secluded which we love with gorgeous views. We drove to a couple of restaurants in neighbouring areas which were lovely. All in all it was a very relaxing break.

Superb villa

This is an excellent villa, occupying the spacious ground floor of a large impressive villa with lovely aspect over olive trees down to Lake Vinuela, and views toward Maroma. In Axarquia it is all about the view, and you certainly have an excellent view here. The villa booking process with Keith was straightforward, friendly and prompt, clearly an eye for good service and attention to detail. The villa is easily found off the main road once over the Vinuela dam, a mostly tarmac track without any scary bits with lots of parking outside. Living room and kitchen are huge, a modern very well equipped kitchen and appliances, ice maker fridge freezer and large 6 seater dining table. Two large sofas in the living room, tv, immediately outside on the patio is another dining table, we ate there most evenings. We star gazed, watched the bats at night and eagles through the day. Superb. The bedrooms adjoin the living room area from either side, so well separated for your privacy, two doubles both en suite, a twin and useful bathroom to the rear of the ground floor. White fluffy towels are provided. There is a travel cot and high chair and so many games, books and DVDs which was great as we travelled with our 2 young grandsons. A few steps downhill to the lovely pool area, and fabulous summer house. We had hot weather so it wasn’t really used apart from storing inflatables in there. Also has a shower and a loo. Comfortable sun beds, umbrellas and loads of beach towels. Outside the summer house is an excellent outside kitchen and full set of plates, crockery and glasses for outside use, and a large charcoal BBQ and large dining table under a shady gazebo. We ate there some evenings. It is worth noting the welcome pack arranged via Keith is the best we have had, bread, eggs, ham, yoghurt, butter, milk, wine, cakes, even cornflakes but also the villa isn’t totally bare when you arrive, so you will find olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper, refuse bags, bleach and dishwasher tablets. Nothing worse than having to buy everything having turned up to a bare rental villa, not an issue here as Keith has it all covered. Everything has been so carefully thought about. Dealing with Keith has been a pleasure, and I wouldn’t have any issue recommending his lovely property to others. We had a wonderful holiday so thank you very much.

A superb holiday at Casa Maria

A really lovely comfortable villa. Plenty of space and kept clean, it had everything we needed to start relaxing straight away. The outside areas were also excellent. We enjoyed the morning terrace and afternoon pool areas for catching the sun. We enjoyed walks in the surrounding area and would recommend taking your walking boots! The only downside was the heated pool did not get up to a temperature which you could swim in, in October it was dipping toes only. The roads from the main road to the villa were a bit tricky but ok once you got used to them. All in all a wonderful place which we would definitely recommend. Thanks to Keith who dealt with our questions straight away over email.

Peaceful retreat

My first impression was that the house was bigger than expected, and so was the pool. An ideal retreat, as you're in the mountains surrounded by very few neighbours and you have complete privacy everywhere on the property. The view is superb and you don't need anything. And I mean ANYTHING: we could have come with our clothes only, literally. The owner is not only friendly, but extremely fast at replying to any query, big or small. The only "downside" was the bumpy dirt track to access the property, which is long and quite scary at times for someone with vertigo (like me). Thankfully, the villa itself is on a gentle slope!

Views to die for from a stunning villa with all you could ever need

Casa Maria is absolutely stunning. The villa has literally everything you could ever want. From pool table to pool, pool house, outdoor kitchen, table tennis, hot tub, air con, Jacuzzi bath and a view you can never tire of. A 10-15 minute drive to the nearest restaurant from the villa. The perfect base for trips to Malaga or Granada. Velez Malaga and Torre del Mar nearest big towns and worth a visit. Pueblo don Manuel on the other side of the lake is full of bars and restaurants. The villa has great quality bedding and towels. More towels than you could ever use and all John Lewis! A generous and very welcomed welcome pack of food basics were there on arrival. Keith was on hand for any questions and always replied quickly. The road to the villa is a dirt track in places. It was daunting on the first day but by the end we didn’t even notice them. There are TVs in the twin room and master bedroom. The twin tv is for the wii and DVD’s and the master for dvds only. The main living room has a very large tv with British channels and access to YouTube and Netflix. There are lots of games for all ages in the main living area. The kitchen is well equipped as is the outdoor kitchen. The lighting outside at night is really pretty and helps you enjoy outdoor living for as long as possible. There is a great bbq in the outdoor kitchen area. The pool house is great for a break from the sun and a social area. The toilet and shower in there is wonderful as it stops the constant wet floors indoors with the kids going to the loo from the pool. All very clean and great condition. In the main room in the house there is an extensive DVD and book collection. There are lots of wii games in the twin room wardrobe. The fridge in the kitchen has a water dispenser and ice dispenser which was very welcomed on a hot day. The mater bedroom is stunning, with its four poster bed and seat by the wardrobe (safe in wardrobe) and sofa area. The on-suite off the master with walk in shower and jacuzzi bath and twin sink is pure luxury. Lots of wardrobe space in all rooms. The second double was also stunning with on-suite and another walk in shower. There is a larger cupboard by the main room with loads of supplies including iron and spare toiletries. All in all pure luxury and a view to die for. I feel blessed to have been able to stay there.

Luxury film star villa

Amazing villa with breath-taking views. Very private. You get the downstairs of a massive villa (no-one is upstairs, just storage). Villa is very well appointed with pool, hot tub, pool table, table tennis. There is also a Jacuzzi bathtub inside. The villa is well equipped with DVDs and board games and useful essentials like cleaning products, bread, eggs, tea, sunscreen etc which was a welcome surprise. Keith was very helpful and friendly over email. Would recommend.

Fantastic villa

Stayed October half term for 9 nights with our boys aged 7 & 14. The villa is beautiful & the view wonderful. Everything you could need, lots of lovely fluffy towels plus extra ones for the pool & even others if the beach. The photos don’t do it justice & the pool house, with shower & toilet is an added bonus. The pool was just the right size & depth for our boys. On sunny days the temperature of the water got up to 22oC due to the solar heat pump, which for late October isn’t bad & you can always jump into the hot tub to warm up. The outside kitchen & dining by the pool was also great but watch out for midges. Running our own business means the October holiday is about chilling out & relaxing, which we definitely did, only leaving the villa for shopping & a trip to the beach. With lots of pool toys, table tennis & a pool table there was lots to keep the kids entertained. A car is essential. Would definitely recommend this villa & a big thanks to Keith for letting us check in early & out later.

Just returned from our second stay in this wonderful villa. We have always said we would never go back to the same place twice as there is a big world to see, but Casamaria changed our minds. The facilities are second to none with every possible thing thought of to enhance the guests comfort & experience. The view is beautiful & we never tired of sitting on the terrace or by the pool appreciating it. We had a wonderful week of complete relaxation & hardly needed to leave the villa as plenty to keep us occupied with the pool, hot tub, table tennis, pool table & plenty of books, games & DVDs. Keith is always a pleasure to deal with & responds very promptly to any queries or problems you may have. We are already talking about returning next year.

Fabulous villa, pool and location is ideal for days out mixed with long lazy days by the pool

Wow! We have been blessed with a fabulous villa in a beautiful location and glorious hot weather. Totally agree with all the good reviews you have for this property. You have thought have thought of everything Keith, from arrival to making sure everything was fine along the way. We have enjoyed a much needed break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This hit the spot with lovely days out mixed with long lazy days by the pool. It is a reluctant goodbye to Casamaria. We would love to come again.

Absolutely Amazing Villa.

It was dark when we arrived at Casa Maria but the amazing uninterrupted views across the lake to the mountains greeted us in the morning and it was wonderful! To wake to this view, have breakfast on the veranda in a perfectly located villa was like a dream. The villa itself was so well equipped it was just like home from home, all the rooms were spotless and a substantial welcome pack was left for us. There was even a box of items in case you had forgotten anything. Relaxation was the order of the day, with birds singing, a solar heated pool for cooling off and a jacuzzi, which when you use it in the night, you might be as lucky as us and spot some shooting stars. The pool area was well equipped with BBQ, dishwasher, etc.,and loved the added bonus of the table tennis and pool table. We went to Venta el Charco and all had fabulous meals, tried the honey onion rings as recommended, they were amazing! The other restaurant we tried was Restaurante El Pantano, another excellent place to eat, the starters were huge, we really didn’t need to order a main course. One of the places we visited was Nerja and we managed to go on the day of the Festival of San Isidro, it was really a good day out and typically Spanish so really worth checking if there are any festivals during your stay. One last thing, I would like to thank Keith for making the whole process of booking with him so easy keeping in touch and for letting us have the use of his amazing villa. We can’t wait to return! Paradise in a magnificient location

The location of this is villa is truly magical. Absolutely stunning uninterrupted views across the lake and mountains. Even though the view from the villa is superb the feeling you get when you open the door onto the terrace in the morning is wonderful. The facilities are extensive with everything you could need. In the description not enough is made of the pool area in the grounds. This area has a completely independant pool house (you cannot see this in the pictures) which has a corner seating area and a toilet/shower and houses all manor of pool toys for little ones. Also here is the wonderful outside kitchen. Barbeque, sink, fridge (no trips back to the villa for chilled wine here), dishwasher (no carting dishes to and from the villa) and a large covered dining table with little blue lights. This area is also lit up well meaning you can eat al fresco at midnight (which we did even in October - still lovely and warm). The pool lights up with coloured lights and there is various other lighting in this area. The hot tub is wonderful. Super hot with twinkly changing coloured lights creating a magical atmosphere. Sitting in the hot tub with a glass of sparkly wine watching the sun go down was breathtaking. This area of pool house, outdoor kitchen, pool table, hot tub, great pool and loungers is perfect. The villa is spacious, very clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. It really is like home from home. English TV meant we did not miss our favourite programs. Internet service was reliable and fast. Mobile phone service great here too so if you want a relaxed away from it all holiday but need to keep in touch this is ideal. The pictures show what you get but in reality you get so much more because the pictures cannot convey the atmosphere, the birds singing, the amazing flowers and plants surrounding the villa, the cicadas and crickets at night, the PEACE and TRANQUILITY that this superb villa gives you. A shout out for the owner Keith too as he is the perfect host. Discreet, but there if you need him. Very friendly and helpful. A lovely welcome pack is left. Most of the essentials are already at the villa (dishwasher tablets, soap powder, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, salt, vinegars, oils, tea, coffee, sugar, baby essentials) Crisp white bed linen, towels and robes. Towels in pool house. A little piece of paradise awaits all who arrive. I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful property.

So much more than expected!

Casamaria is a fabulous villa in a stunning location overlooking Lake Vinuela. Peaceful and relaxing, this villa offers so much more than we were expecting. Furnished to a high standard with an abundance of everything you could possibly require, Casamaria is a bit special. The owner, Keith was there to greet us on arrival and made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. A delightful man and the perfect host. The welcome pack waiting for us was amazing, everything you could need to kick start your holiday. The pool and surrounding outdoor area is a great place to spend time as a family. The outdoor kitchen provides a fabulous built-in BBQ, fridge, microwave and second dishwasher! The covered dining area next to it provides some welcome shade and stunning views. Everything about this villa has been thought through in detail. We did not feel the need to venture far during our week's stay but we did dine out on our last evening at Venta El Charco in Romanes as recommended. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent, especially the fillet steak! As a grown up family of 5, we had a fantastic time at Casamaria and highly recommend a stay here.

WOW - a real gem

Right from the start, we could not believe how lucky we were to be staying at such a fantastic property. Keith made us feel very welcome (loved the bottle of cava included in the welcome pack) and the villa was spotless and well equipped. We certainly made use of the jacuzzi, which had the most spectacular view across the lake, the pool area and outdoor kitchen was an added bonus and many an afternoon was spent enjoying the winter sunshine. We had booked a lengthy stay here, so Casamaria would be our home away from home and we loved being there every single day. Such a relaxing place to be but with easy access to the coast and Malaga was only a 50 minute drive away, we never felt we were too far from bars, restaurants. We spent a wonderful New Years Eve at a local restaurant, great value and fantastic food, and during our 3 month stay discovered a variety of good places to eat. So impressed were we with the villa and of course Vinuela itself, we have booked to return again; already counting the days until we can see that beautiful view once again. Highly recommended
