About this property

This one bedroom cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple looking for a get-away. Overlooking one acre of rolling hills with signature Block Island stone walls, this delightful cottage offers privacy and the Island's best stargazing.
Located just over a mile to downtown and the beach, it is easy to enjoy all Block Island has to offer. Walking distance to Greenway Hiking Trails as well as New Harbor, the cottage provides a convenient home base for exploring what The Nature Conservancy refers to as "A last great place."
The cottage offers one bedroom with a queen sized bed (with a very comfortable mattress) and a love seat in the living area. **All sheets and towels (plus beach towels) are included. A high-top table is also in the open living area.
There is a full bathroom with a large tiled shower, as well as an attached private hot/cold outdoor shower.
There is also a deck with a bistro set as well as a gas grill for outdoor cooking.
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, oven/stove top, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and teapot. We also have AC for the summer season!
All household products, including: soap; plastic wrap; aluminum foil; paper towels; etc. are provided.
So, just pack your bathing suit and flip flops and enjoy! If it is your first time on Block Island or your thirtieth, we look forward to making your experience a truly memorable one.
PLEASE NOTE: There is an additional 8% tax on rentals in Rhode Island as well as a 1% Block Island tax.

A lovely cottage

Quaint countryside cottage

Retreat on Block Island

My 5-day retreat in this little cottage was wonderful. I have never stayed in a VRBO rental that was so clean (it seemed that no one had ever stayed there before it was so clean!) and so well stocked. They had everything! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom towels were cozy. I didn't use the TV but the instructions for how to use it seemed easy. Marti was very helpful and welcoming! I highly recommend.

The right way to do Block Island

This cottage is the absolute perfect place to stay for a couple who wants to do the island the right way. I’ve come to Block Island probably 30 times since I was a kid, and this place has everything you could want. We were able to go to so many of the great spots on the island either on foot or on our bikes. Amazing location that’s less than a 10-minute bike ride from Old Harbor and town beach, a 5-minute ride to New Harbor (and Payne’s Donuts), and a very manageable 20-minute ride to the bluffs and the SE lighthouse. There’s parking too if you need to bring a car, but you absolutely do not need to. It has a spacious living area and a nice full bed in the air-conditioned bedroom. There’s a full kitchen that, unlike a lot of rental houses, has knives that are actually sharp enough to cut things and nonstick pans that aren’t completely ruined. There’s a nice grill for those swordfish steaks you’ll get at Dick’s Fish in New Harbor, and the perfect pots and serving dishes for big batches of clams with white wine and garlic. Eating out on the island can be very expensive, so being able to cook nice meals in a rental is great. It even has carafes for making iced tea and a full set of tupperware for your leftovers. There’s a big yard you can lie down in to look at the stars, and tables for eating outside. Oh and it has THE most essential thing – an outdoor shower. The hosts were great too - very friendly and responsive to any issues we had. I can’t recommend this place enough for

Very private getaway for two!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage! We were celebrating our 40th anniversary, so the owners thoughtfully provided a bottle of bubbly along with 2 flutes and a card. We also got to visit with the very friendly owners for a bit, which is always nice! Regarding the cottage itself, it was clean & well stocked with everything we needed! The only downsides were: 1. There were quite a few steps, some uneven, leading up to the cottage, which for the young and those in good shape shouldn't be an issue, but it may be for some. 2. The property is situated very close to a main road, which kept us from being able to enjoy a walk to town even though it was close enough. But these were minor negatives compared to the many positive qualities of the property.

Hidden Gem of a cottage

This is a sweet cottage nestled on a hill. Centrally located and easy to get to everything. We enjoyed quiet time at the top of the hill enjoying the view. The unit has an air conditioner which is unusual for places on Bi. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this cottage and would stay there again

Quaint Cottage on Block Island

Awesome visit.

The cottage was beautiful. It was spotlessly clean, cozy and well equipped. It was close to everything without being too close to the in town action. The weather turned bad and the ferries were not running. Marti went out of her way to accommodate us and eased our anxieties about getting home. I can’t say enough about the kindness of our hosts and in spite of some big bumps, what a wonderful trip we had. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect cottage for a couple

Very nicely renovated cottage with full sized bathroom, stove and apartment sized refrigerator, complete with all new appliances including air conditioner. Fire pit, grill, picnic table & outdoor shower were available for use with seasoned wood. Very relaxing and close to town.

Had the most wonderful week on Block Island. The island itself, the vibe of the people, the protected and maintained natural beauty were all wonderful. The cottage itself was perfect -- we were so comfortable, felt really provided for (we did a lot of cooking and were super pleased with the equipment and supplies), and the surrounding property was so special (and there were tons of monarchs flying around at no extra charge). The hosts were so wonderful -- informative, attentive, fun, trusting, ,helpful. It's the type of place where I want to return to again and again, have everyone I know stay there too, but selfishly not want to tell anyone else. Perfect for a couple. Again, we were so pleased and can't wait to go back. Our gratitude to the hosts for making it so great and easy.

The Dunne Cottage

Perfect Cottage on Block Island

We found the cottage better in-person than in photos. The photos on-line don’t do it justice. The cottage was CLEAN and has everything you need! A nice quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle from the harbor. Towels, beach chairs, and a parking space included- what else do you need?! The property owner, Ed, gave us a tour (at our request) of the property and his Lobster Bar(n), telling us a little history of the home. We had a great time, and we’ll definitely be back to stay next year!

Perfect pied-a-tierre in a heavenly place

Block Island is for us the most beautiful place in the world, and we found this sweet cottage to have everything a couple could want to explore it in comfort and with convenience. Its location is handy to everything but far from tourist crowds. There is a spacious backyard with a picnic table and lovely view, and a fully-equipped kitchen if you don't want to eat out. Marti, Ed, and Julia are most welcoming and responsive. We will gladly return!

Perfect!

We loved everything about this house- great size for two people, had everything you could possibly need, beautiful property and perfect location for us! We walked or biked the mile into town every day and enjoyed being equal distance for both Old and New Harbor without being too close to the crowds and noise. The owners are the nicest people you could possibly meet, even left surprises for me and my son-we felt like we were staying with family. So happy we found this place! Would 100% stay here again!
