This home has a wonderful open desert draw between us and the McDowell Mountains. We love it as we can hear and see lots of wildlife, i.e. coyotes, javelinas, birds, bobcats, etc. We have furnished and decorated this home as if we were living here full time! We hope that all who stay enjoy the quality of the furnishings and the southwest decor. Gary, my husband, is an artist, and some of his work graces the walls of our new home. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beds are super comfortable. There is a king bed, a queen bed and two extra long twin beds. (Beds were purchased from Phoenix's own rising star, Tuft and Needle.)
The home has been updated in 2014 with new tile floors throughout, carpeting in the bedrooms, granite counters and appliances in the kitchen. New french door refrigerator, Kitchen Aid dishwasher and washer and dryer in 2021.
There is a wonderful covered porch off the master and the great room, measuring 10' x 30' and a four year old Weber BBQ grill that may convert you if you have never cooked on one! You have your own private desert botanical garden on the upper portion of our lot. The lot is very private which was so desirable to us, as our other home is on 25 acres near Yellowstone Park in the "other" Paradise Valley! There is no pool, but there are some nice outdoor pools at the nearby Fort McDowell Resort Hotel and Peak Athletic Club.
What we love about this home is the quiet and the views and changing light on the mountains, as well as the wonderful plants, cacti and trees on the property. The location is within 30 minutes to many of the sport training camps, the novelty and beauty of Cave Creek and Carefree, the art in Scottsdale and hiking and walking trails right here in the desert!

Things to do in and around Fountain Hills:
Golf, plane rides, jeep expeditions, Indian ruins, visiting petroglyphs, boating, dinner boat cruises, skiing, river rafting (in season) on the Salt River. Spring training games, Cactus league games, art walks, Farmers Market on Avenue of the Fountains, wine-tasting at Grand Canyon Winery, dog walks, antique hunting, visit Wekopa Resort for relaxation around the pool, gambling, dining at their fabulous buffet, golf, touring the Apache Trail, massage, manicure and pedicure ($30), chocolate tasting, happy hours, Route 66. Old Scottsdale is just 30 minutes away.
A special note is that the dining in Fountain Hills is varied and quite good. (We are still discovering:) This town has such a small town feel, where one is remembered at the grocery store, the gas station and the restaurants. Even in the off-season, you might find a classical guitarist at the wine bar or coffee house or a 70's band at the local steak house! Did I mention the live theater? Or the dog park where dogs, big and small, can play safely off leash? (If you aren't used to dog parks like us, we are amazed that the dogs really all get along!) There is a huge fenced area for the large dogs and another for the small dogs. They have chairs, water for the pups, dog toys and covered patio areas to enjoy the shade.
There is a water park for the kids around the lake (closed in the winter months), Frisbee golf, and lots of rest areas and vistas for seeing sunsets, changing light on the mountains, blue heron and other birds. So many opportunities for nature lovers and photographer's abound in this beautiful area. I almost don't want to tell anyone about finding Fountain I want it to stay just as it is, off the beaten path of the Phoenix/Scottsdale metropolis!

**Please let owner know if any small or large appliances are not working or this is visible damage that you would like noted. I am aware that the carpet is frayed at the 3rd bedroom door and a few spots show though we clean every few months or as needed. The screen door on the slider slides a little rough.
When closing vertical blinds, please make sure that all slats are facing the same direction so the mechanism does not jam and get damaged.
