About this property

‘Icarus Heights’ is a detached villa, with sea and mountain views, overlooking the fabulous Bay of Göcek. Just 25 mins from Dalaman airport through the new tunnel. Göcek is peaceful, friendly and unspoilt from mass tourism, and because it is a yachting harbour, it has all the facilities you could need, including craft, gift, jewellery, and provision shops, banks, and a Sunday market, plus a stylish range of harbour and village, bars, cafes and restaurants. The nearest town is Fethiye, which is a modern town with a historic centre, and just 30 mins drive, or every 30 minutes by dolmus from opposite the estate (approx 5.5TL on the Turkish bus).

The detached villa has its own pool and garden, it is exceptionally well appointed, attractively furnished, and all rooms are air conditioned, with WiFi available. It sleeps 6 people ( + small child) and has unique disabled facilities suitable for wheelchair users plus the option of use of a pool hoist
The bedrooms are over two floors.
The lower floor has one double room with en suite shower, one double or twin room with adjacent bath/shower room (with disabled facilities,) and one single bedroom with the same bathroom opposite.
The upper floor has one twin bedded room (can be made double) with level floor shower room opposite (disabled friendly).
There is a spacious lounge with 2 large sofas (one of which is a double sofa bed) a small dining table with stools and a fully equipped kitchen, and shaded dining terrace. There is Wi Fi, TV, Bluetooth speaker, CD, DVD and docking station available.
The villa is strictly non-smoking.
Linen, bathroom and beach towels are provided.

Gocek holiday

It was very good. The star of the show is Mehmet! He knows everybody and arranged our transfers, hire car and a fantastic boat trip. He made everything very easy. The villa itself is nicely set up, but being on a development there was some occasional noise from neighbours. Overall, we had a really nice time.

One of a kind!

Waking up to this picturesque peaceful scenery was truly breathtaking. Communication with owner Gill and her management Mehmet was swift. They went above and beyond our expectations. The villa was spacious and clean, we loved spending quality family time in the private pool and there was also the option to mingle with others in communal ones too. Walking distance to local supermarket or delivery via text. We had so much fun we did not even have time to watch tv. Finding that special somewhere for a disabled member of the family is always quite a challenge but Gill’s villa had it all. We shall return! Thank you so much.

Perfection

In addition to its spaciousness, nice location and usability, the villa has everything one may ever need. They really made sure all our needs were met. This is probably the best holiday rental I had in 10 years. Mehmet, the chap who manages the property, is such a great guy. Five star for everything :)

Fantastic holiday in Gocek

We have just had a great holiday in Gocek. The Villa is in a great location, only 20 minutes walk or a short taxi ride in to Gocek centre, which is an amazing holiday resort. Both Gill and her manager Mehmet were incredibly helpful. Overall a really enjoyable holiday.

Perfect holiday home

From the moment I made contact to the moment we finally set foot over the threshold we felt taken care of. Gill was tremendously helpful and prompt with any of my questions and Mehmet attended to all of our additional needs or questions on the location. The home is romantically surrounded and entangled in vines and other manicured foliage. It also has a lovely view of the town, mountains and the bay. The home was clean and had everything we needed to make the best of a week's vacation, including a fully equipped kitchen and directions to everything convenient to the area and about the area. Thank you for this lovely opportunity to enjoy your gem of a home. It will make going back even harder, but I will cherish the memories.

Lovely Villa in lovely Gocek

We enjoyed a weeks stay here in this lovely villa. It is nicely decorated and well furnished with everything you need plus a very well stocked kitchen. There is plentiful air conditioning in every room and on the outside a private pool to offset the heat. The views from the balcony table down towards Gocek harbour were particularly nice and made our meals out there all the more enjoyable. The welcome food package was a really welcome, generous and kind gesture. Mehmet, the property manager, was stand out. He was there for any questions and helped arrange a boat charter for us. The walk into town is a flat 20 minute stroll and provides easy access to Goceks many restaurants. You have to cross the big main road to walk into town however pedestrian crossings are at the exit road from the villa. You can hear the noise from this main road from the villa when relaxing by the pool which is a bit of a shame. You hear no noise inside the villa so sleeping etc. wasn't affected. The gardens around the villa were lovely with lots of beautiful flowers on display. A car or use of a taxi is a must if you intend to eat at home and to carry your shopping! Communication with the owner Gill was swift and really good. Overall, I would recommended this lovely well priced villa.

Simple magic

My family and I spent 12 wonderful days in Villa Icarus Heights 14 in July 2019. The room was clean and comfortable. Mehmet received us and provided us with the important information. The children had fun in the private pool at all times, so we as parents could relax. Göcek is a small beautiful town with a marina, we were happy to have dinner with the children in the small town of Essen and then take a walk. We were on many beaches, but our favorite Iztuzu Plaj, everything was great here, the cost was all acceptable, and we found the other beaches too expensive. Since we traveled by car, we were able to reach many places easily. Fehtiye is a little bigger and is about half an hour away. In Göcek there are many delicious restaurants and cafes, our favorite is Caesar-ET. We were only in Fehtiye twice, mostly for shopping. We found the small town of Göcek much more beautiful, the town of Göcek is easy to relax. A big thank you to Gill, he answered every question quickly by email.

Spacious villa with a good pool. Well equipped. Excellent communication with the owner and very helpful support from their agent at the villa. Gocek is a lovely town - just the right number of quality bars and some excellent restaurants. You should go!

Absolutely great villa for top peaceful holiday

Where to start? Our connecting flights landed us at Dalaman airport very early after whole night stop at Istanbul so Gill was very kind to let us check in as soon as we came to Gocek. It was great thing as we were very tired and hanging around until 4PM would be some task. Villa was absolutely great for our family with 3 kids. Modern villa with amenities you need in very quiet location. The pool was the hit of the week as we're not really into crowded beaches and the beautiful hot weather helped us to take the absolute most of it. Kids and wife were using it for whole day, I enjoyed night swims. Gocek is very nice place for peaceful vacation, prices affordable and Fethiye, the big and busy city is only half an hour drive. Mehmet, the property manager gave us his phone for contact anytime though we made some research before going there and didn't need lot of help. I recommend Gill and his home to anyone and if we're not for exploring some other parts of Turkey next year, than it's Icarus Heights 14 again. It already feels as home away from home.

What else could you ask for?

Perfect, even with fairly small children, there's truly nothing we could put on a "I wish we had..."-list. Fully furnished and equipped, everything in good shape and clean, good communication with the owner as well as the very helpful local manager, everything was just as it should be. Visiting Gocek pre-season with a number of places not open yet, we still found plenty of things to do and places to go. We definitely recommend the villa and the town of Gocek itself to anybody who wants to have everything available and enjoys beautiful places, but doesn't like crowded places with cheapy tourist traps.

Peacefull holiday with the family

I would like to thank to Ms. Gill Knight for giving us the possiblity to have a lovely 1 week holiday in their villa in Gocek. The place of the Villa is perfect, not very close to the center, but it's quite and peacefull in a nice pool, garden covered with begonvilles. ,If you've a car, it's close to various bays around. We stayed with the full family in comfort. Thanks to Mr. Mehmet for his assistance.

Happy holiday!!!

A very pleasant villa indeed - it was home to home and has all the necessary comforts. We have lived in a few villas in the area and Icarus Heights has been amazing for patio life - the views are exceedingly stunning. We enjoyed many patio breakfasts and lunches and we're quite sad on our last day to leave such beautiful surroundings. A bonus for us was the large shared pool at the complex in addition to the small pool at the villa - we ventured out to it when we wanted to somewhat socialise or have a workout swim. A definitely recommended home for a holiday!!!

Icarus Heights July 2016

Having just come back from a two week stay, I felt compelled to let anyone who was thinking of going to stay at this property, just how lovely it is. Initially, I would mention that villa was absolutely ideal and very private. Whilst there were just the two of us, we had a lot more space than we needed and the rooms were all furnished to a high standard. Also, there was everything to hand that you could possibly need. This of course adds up to a very pleasant and easy holiday. The pool area is just so close and it was not very far to get back in the shade under the covered terrace when the Turkish sun got too hot. Gocek is a lovely area and many lovely boats moored in the harbour and lots of restaurants to enjoy. We did go out on a boat trip which was such a great day, and also very inexpensive; fantastic value. We also ventured to Fethiye on the local bus and this was another enjoyable trip, only 10tl return each person. It is lovely down by the harbour. Finally, all airport transfers were arranged locally by the property manager at a very reasonable cost. He was there and very easy to contact if ever the need arose and was extremely helpful. Wonderful vacation

We spent one beautiful week in Goçek . The village is lovely and the people welcoming and helpful. The villa has a wonderful view we enjoyed the breakfast every day on the terrace . It is very well maintained and well furnished. We enjoyed swimming in the pool . Kids were delighted and happy. The location of the village is ideal. We went to Fethie several times and to Marmaris once. Mehmet is a very nice guy , he helped us and gave us many ideas regarding our vacation. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to spent a quite and relaxing vacation. And sure I would like to come back and spend more than one week in this lovely villa and beautiful village. Big thanks to Mrs Gill who offered us this opportunity . Antabli Family .

Lovely Villa, private, good view & location

We stayed in this Villa for two weeks in August. The Villa is not overlooked unlike some on the Terrace Life Complex, it has a nice view of Gocek, and one of the large communal pools is about 30 seconds walk, below the Villa. The Villa is clean, the showers are very powerful, the beds are comfortable (which is a nice change), the kitchen is well equipped although to be honest besides, breakfast and lunch we didn't really eat in as it is so cheap to eat out. The private pool, was bigger than I expected and is more than a plunge pool. My husband could always find one of the communal pools empty so he could do his lengths. The complex was not busy as I assume a lot of the Villas/Apptmts are privately owned. Gocek, is a very pretty little town, with plenty of restaurants to choose from and most are very reasonable prices. It takes about 20 minutes to walk, and is an easy walk, there is parking to be had around the town near the supermarkets as well. Mehmet who looks after the Villa, was extremely helpful, (fixed an air conditioning unit on the same day) and sorted a boat trip out for us, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Gocek is a good base, Dalyan is worth a visit and the ghost town Koya Koy is very interesting. Had a great holiday and would recommend this Villa and Location. Negative: The road can be heard when outside, but very quiet at night. If it was my villa, I would have a little round table in the kitchen area, as my daughter had to eat on the settee, with the bowl on the coffee table (when she was up before us), but not really a problem.

Idyllic

We have just enjoyed two weeks in this lovely villa. The villa has everything you could want to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, the furnishings and decor are of a high standard and the view from the balcony is fabulous. The pool and poolside were very clean and well maintained. Gocek itself is a hidden gem it is a 15 minute walk to the marina which is lined with beautiful restaurants all reasonably priced with friendly staff. I would recommend taking a boat trip to visit some of the islands and swimming in the beautiful clear sea. A car is not essential but I would recommend it to allow you to explore a little further a field. Gill the owner from our first enquiry has been incredibly helpful and has kept us regularly updated you can tell she has a love for her villa and Gocek. Mehmet is on hand while you are there and he simply can't do enough to ensure your stay is enjoyable. We would love to return in the future.

A wonderful, relaxing holiday

The whole experience from booking right through to departure was a pleasure. The villa itself was exactly what we were looking for, we needed wheelchair accessibility and it met our needs perfectly. We were able to park our hire car nearby and the villa is very clean and cosy, with everything you could possibly need. The private pool was ideal for our party of four adults, though we could easily have used the larger communal pools. We spent some evenings on the balcony with a barbecue, and others in Gocek, which is very close by and has many lovely restaurants to choose from. The representative, Mehmet, was very friendly and available any time we needed anything, but also very respectful so we felt relaxed and at home. All in all this was a relaxing break, we only wished it had lasted longer. We will definitely be back!

Excellent!

We had a wonderful stay here. The villa was perfect for all of our needs and so clean and tidy, it has lovely views of the mountains and is extremely peaceful. The pool is just right, there is also a large communal pool that we used on occasion just below the villa. we also used the tennis court. We strolled into the town twice a day which didn't take long at all, we found some great restaurants and a wide selection of shops and supermarkets. For us this was a relaxing holiday, with lovely memories. We are going back again in 2015 and looking forward, once again, to watching the sun come up over the mountains whist sitting round the table with our breakfast.

Lovely villa

We returned to this villa for the second time and once again it was perfect for our needs. We are a family of 5, our 3 children in their 20's. The listing description was accurate and there was plenty of space for us. The villa was clean and well maintained and the area around the pool had been enlarged and improved since we were there 4 years ago. The swimming pool is well maintained by daily visits from a maintenance man. On arrival the fridge was stocked for breakfast the next day and cupboards contained all the usual and necessary household necessities. Mehmet, the local fixer, is a superb point of contact and can arrange almost anything and everything. His beach, restaurant and ancient site recommendations are excellent. We have visited just about all the local sites and good beaches between Patara and Kaunos as well as a couple of not so good beaches: we would not return to Katranchi,but Gunluklu is a gem. We also enjoyed 2 superb and different 12 island boat trips organised by Mehmet. We have hired a car on both visits and it would be difficult to visit most of the local attractions without the use of a car/taxi. My only reservation is that the main coast road is easily visible from the villa and there is some noise from this. But it's in a beautiful location, with wonderful views to Gocek Bay across the roofs of the town one direction and to the cliffs of the mountains that rise behind the town in the other. The villa development itself is attractively terraced and now bursting with bougainvillea and other flowering shrubs. Our boys used the tennis court and their only complaint was that a set of tennis in 35 degrees was a bit of a challenge!

Icarus Heights

The villa was clean and well equipped, fully air conditioned and very comfortable. There is ample space for a family and it's fully accessible if you need wheelchair access. The pool is great and there is a communal pool 2 mins walk from the villa which was also well kept and had plenty of sun loungers. Although the villa sits amongst other villas in this complex, the terrace, pool area and sun loungers are very private and not over looked by other villas. It is a quiet, peaceful location even in August. The views from the terrace across the marina is beautiful and the property is nestled in the pine clad hills surrounding Gocek. Easy walking distance in to Gocek, and if it's too hot to walk back it's easy to get a taxi. The property is well maintained and secure and the house manager Mehmet is always on hand for support, information and advice. Gocek has fabulous restaurants and bars. Driving is easy and the villa is well located for many day trips to beaches, the gorge, scuba diving, boat trips and other towns etc. We had an amazing trip and found everyone welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this villa and a stay in Gocek.

villa holiday

Our two families stayed at this villa for two weeks in July 2013. We needed a disabled friendly villa and this suited us. Lovely villa, spotless, all the essentials that you need were provided, lovely clean pool, could do with the pool umbrellas being a bit more sturdy as the breeze blew them over a few times but only because they were lightweight bases, cleaner came in once a week for bed change and clean, Mehmet couldn't be more helpful as were the owners with advice and recommendations before we arrived. We did use taxi's to and from the town as the slope to the villa was a bit steep to push a manual wheelchair up and in the heat made it twice as hard. Lovely restaurants and bars around the marina, we especially liked Blue and West. We also had a takeaway from Naturel which was lovely, the men used to disappear there for a sneaky beer,!! such friendly people. We did a boat trip with lunch on board which Mehmet arranged, good value for money, lots to eat and a dip in the see at every stop. Lovely part of Turkey to visit for a chill out holiday ,definitely a place we would return too but as my 17 daughter is wheelchair dependent and altho the villa itself is completely accessible, we did struggle a bit getting her in and out of the pool as there is no hoist. Ok if you have two strong men to help but it would be difficult if not. Overall, I would recommend Gocek and Icarus Heights for a lovely chilled out holiday, the owners did their best to accommodate our departure time which was really helpful as we had the last day at the villa and no hassle of dragging cases everywhere :)

excellent villa

villa icarus heights was everything we hoped for. it was spotlessly clean and ready for our arrival. mehmet was a great help from collecting us at the airport to advising on excursions. we love gocek, the restaurants are fabulous. would especially reccomend blu and dursun usta.we visited kayakoy at a quiet time which helped us to appreciate its haunting atmosphere,another treat was a trip over on a speedboat to the beach just across the marina, where we enjoyed lounging on the luxury daybed and having a plunge in the sea to cool down. the owners of icarus heights clearly have guest comfort as a top priorty and we will definately return in the near future.

lovely villa

The villa was modern, very clean and roomy. Lovely clean pool and outside shower. Went with my husband and 3 friends and we found the villa very spacious with plenty of room for own space. The location is about 20 mins saunter down to the front. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Over the road from the villa is a handy garage shop with all essentials and beautiful fresh fruit and veg daily. The owner was very accommodating allowing us to stay a bit a longer on our exit day so no carrying around baggage for the day prior to our flight home. With their local contact we had no problems getting to and from the airport and he also organised a day trip for us. All at a good price. Would recommend the villa. Just to make you aware that there is a climb up to the villa from the road put unless you suffer from walking difficulties this shouldn't put you off.

Hello, to you all, our villa Icarus Heights, is owned by Gill and Ronnie. The family fell in love with the Turquoise coast 25 years ago and have the distinction within our family of being the first British couple to marry in nearby Kalkan, which was no mean feat in 1993!
Further regular visits discovered that other parts of the southwest coast of Turkey and in particular Gocek was even more beautiful. Our villa's name was inspired by local legends of the Göcek region.
We are now able to quietly share these delights with those who appreciate a beautiful, homely villa set in breath taking surroundings that is just a stones throw away from a quaint picturesque Turkish village, leading to mouth watering quayside restaurants and shops set in the backdrop of a spectacular marina.

Why they chose this property

We bought our villa in 2006 after falling in love with the view of the bay, and the panorama of mountain and forest. We find it an ideal place to be, just 25 minutes from Dalaman airport through the tunnel, but shielded by the mountains from the sight and sound of aircraft. The villa is a 20-minute leisurely and level stroll into the heart of the harbour village of Göcek, which we find has most of the day to day essentials that you need on offer, plus a dollop of shops designed for retail therapy should you so choose. Whilst being within easy reach of a fabulous coast of hidden beaches, islands, forests, lakes, mountains, and rivers, enabling you to explore the culture and history of the area. Göcek as you sit on our terrace is a unique place to be, with all it’s natural beauty around you.

What makes this property unique

We have made a conscious effort to furnish our villa as a family home rather than just a rental villa. The disabled facilities were planned by a disabled architect, including a pool with a hoist. We hope that we have added those missing comforts that we too, would expect when on holiday. For us, one of the definite pluses is that Göcek is only 20 km from the airport, the flight time from the UK being less than four hours. So within half an hour of arrival you will find yourself in beautiful surroundings, and you could be enjoying breathtaking views, glorious weather, and a swim in the pool, all in this tranquil corner of the Turquoise Coast of Turkey. Over the years we have made many friends in Göcek, including our friendly representative Mehmet, and his helpful family, who will ensure your comfort and welcome.
