It’s the fourth time we’ve stayed, absolutely love the property and location, great for the children, John couldn’t be any more accommodating. We will be booking again very soon.
Lovely location with access to the lakes, at a great price
Really good value for money. I was looking for the catch, as the house was cheaper than other comparable holiday rentals, but never found one, everything was wonderful. Perhaps it is just because it is a middle terrace, but wasn’t an issue. The lady next door told me she is hard of hearing, and my rowdy teenagers caused her no disturbance what-so-ever.
The home is really well stocked with all the mod-cons meaning we didn’t have to go to the shop to buy anything extra due to it not being provided. There was even a spare hoodie in the wardrobe, which my daughter was able to borrow for her ascent up scaffol pike, having not carried sufficiently warm clothes.
Lovely house in a picturesque location, and great access to the lakes and beyond, in a friendly and welcoming little community.
If I’m being hyper critical the 3/5 for cleanliness was due to the fact it seemed to not have had a deep clean for a little bit. I only noticed this when I moved my side drawer to reach the plug and noticed it needed a hoover in places not usually visible, and also upon giving the bathroom floor a quick wipe upon exit there was more dirt on the tissue than my family could have generated in just four nights.
But at less than £300 for four nights, I’d highly recommend a stay at this holiday let, in a peaceful and idylic village, but only a 20-45min drive to Carlyle, and Keswick
Second stay, it’s like home from home, we love it and will not stay anywhere else, it’s absolutely perfect for what we need as a family, it allows us to be close to family and friends and feel like we are at home rather than on holiday, sad to leave. Thanks you again John so accommodating as always.
Lovely place, superb location for us, we have friends & family in the village, cottage was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. John was very accommodating and helpful, we will be booking to stay again and would have no issue with recommending it to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The property was well appointed and comfortable close to the centre of a small village with two pubs close to Penrith which was our main reason for choosing so we were close to family and new great grandson
We would certainly book again and look forward to coming back Many thanks to John
This is a cosy property where you immediately feel at home. Two pubs and a shop on the doorstep plus riverside walks from the doorstep. A short drive to the Lake District with fabulous scenery. We return again and again.
We enjoyed a very comfortable few nights here. The apartment is cosy, well stocked and in a lovely location. We found the drive into the Lake District National Park each day was easy and scenic after which we enjoyed spending an hour or 2 on the patio in the afternoons before going for an evening walk locally.
Communication with John was always swift and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here.
This property is exactly as listed. It was warm and cosy and very welcoming.
It's very snug but great for a few days. Fantastic amount of crockery.
One thing that was a bit annoying, it's a downstairs apartment, and who ever lives above is quite heavy footed.
Kirkoswald is a hidden gem so so pretty with nice walks qnd lakes within walking distance
Lovely friendly neighbours and the little shop is well stocked
The Crown served lovely food
Coop is just 5 mins by car
You will need a car to visit other places but wouldn't put me off staying here
John's apartment was spacious and well stocked plenty of everything
Patio outside was lovely in the morning this is when you catch the sun and the log burner at night was q great addition
A splendid stay
The property was clean, really well equipped and very well located for walks, historic sites and amenities.
The children asked if we would be going back they enjoyed it so much.
This is a well kept flat with everything you might need for your stay. Very close to Penrith and the Lakes but also Kirkoswald is a gorgeous little village itself with some lovely scenery. All the required information is provided beforehand very clearly and John is a great host replying to every query very quickly. Hopefully will be back soon!!
Another lovely stay at this cozy cottage in KO. Close to lovely shop and pubs.
Lacked for nothing in the cottage everything we needed was at hand.
We have stayed there in summer now and winter and both visits a delight.
This is such a relaxing property to stay in and with river walks just around the corner and the village shop and pubs over the road. The northern lakes are on the doorstep with fabulous scenery whatever the weather. The real fire adds to the cozy feel of the place. This was our third stay and we will no doubt return again.
The apartment was very comfortable and well-equipped. Set in the heart of this friendly village, it was an ideal location with a delightful village shop, excellent pubs and lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area.
Great week (again), accommodation excellent , friendly village ,and local pubs very good . Convenient for train, lakes and fells , great walks and the weather was great . Accommodation really well appointed and clean 👍👍
Had a fantastic visit to kirkoswald at this property. Extremely clean and very well equipped with things to keep you entertained on rainy days, the location of the property is excellent. Very quiet village in a very nice area not far to drive to either the Pennines or the Lake District, I would highly recommend both, plenty of pubs and restaurants close by as well as supermarkets a short drive. Had a fantastic time in kirkoswald couldn’t fault it and would definitely return
Really enjoyable stay, will go again, great location for lakes, fells, railway and walks . Good places to visit locally and two pubs within 5 mins walk , what’s not to like ?
We had a very rainy week at the cottage but it was cosy, warm and comfortable.
