Wonderful view out to ocean, near to amenities of Trevose golf centre (golf, swimming pool, tennis and paddle board courts), 20min walk to beaches. Plenty of space in front and back gardens, very quiet and peaceful. Charming traditional, well loved family bungalow with practical spaces (outside heated shower when back from the beach, well equipped laundry, larder). Thank you Jean and family!
We enjoyed our stay. Good location. Spacious bungalow. Very Large garden. Very welcome Prosecco on arrival. Not sure if the Retro theme and kitchen and bathrooms were supposed to be the theme but everything worked very well and fully equipped with everything you’ll need. As a bit of further feedback was The double bed mattress was a little uncomfortable with regards to both people rolling towards the centre.
We loved this retro house, it was huge with an equally huge garden. It appears old fashioned but actually it’s just retro as everything was spotless. There are 2 double rooms and 2 rooms with twin beds. There are two bathrooms inside and a hot shower outside which is ideal for the surfers/body boarders. The views of the sea from the front are gorgeous and the house is set in a private estate next to a golf course. 20 mins walk to Constantine Bay. The garden is huge and is ideal if you want to play or sit in the garden or BBQ. We were 3 couples, 2 middle aged, one in their twenties and we all loved it as the location was perfect away from the madding crowds of Padstow which is only 4 miles away. We had two dogs with us and the garden is secure enough. A very small curious dog could probably get out. We shall return for sure.

Dalvay
We were not satisfied with the quality of the facilities which we found at Dalvay. A number of the features of the property were not accurately portrayed on the website and the quality of the contents fell far below the standard which we would expect. The property is portrayed as a much-loved family home and this is entirely accepted as true. If we had been there on a house swap basis, that would be fine but the property has not made the transition to a quality holiday let on business professional terms in any sense. It has not even had the benefit of basic DIY. We could add a great deal of factual detail to this report.
Great property set in a perfect location for access to the surrounding beaches and golf course. House equipped with everything needed to make an enjoyable stay.
A really nice property to stay in, all very comfortable and spacious. Good location for the golf club, tennis courts and a 20 mins walk to the beach for the surf. The house has a wonderful view to the coast from the front of the house, and a quiet tucked away garden behind, which was lovely to sit in after the busy days!

Relaxing week in lovely surroundings
We had a lovely week in the height of the season. The bungalow is lovely and very spacious so that we didn't feel on top of one another. It is set in a very clean, quiet road with lovely views of the sea from the living room. The nearest shop is within easy access and has some lovely local produce and everything you would need, however Tesco's is only about 4 or so miles away.
There are quite a few local places to eat. We especially liked the fish & chip shop and the carvery at the Farmers Arms.
We walked to the beach on several occasions and although it is within walking distance I would say that it would be too far for someone to walk who has any mobility issues. Having said that, you can drive but when we were there it was very busy.
Our boys loved it at the Go-Carting place on the way to Newquay. They cater for all ages from very young people to not so young people!
We would love to visit again.

A wonderful family holiday
We just love Dalvay for our family holiday. It is so well positioned on the Trevose Estate, walking distance to the Golf Club and all it's facilities. The house with its single storey living works very well, it has just the right amount of showers, the outside one is always very popular after a long surf at Bobby's Bay. The sitting room is so sunny and the views over the bay are brilliant. We have two dogs and the garden is perfect for them.We love our trips to Dalvay and hope to have many more.

Great location for family lots of space
Great location for a quick visit - easy reach of Padstow, Newquay and Eden, with beaches a 10 minute walk away - the house is perfect for families with young kids, with everything on one floor. Lots of light, with views across Trevose golf course to the sea - perfect - with local tennis if you fancy. Enjoy!

Great family house in a beautiful area
We think this is a perfect house for a family holiday. Spacious bright bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and best of all for the children, a large private garden with a trampoline, comfy garden furniture and amazing views of the sea and the dunes. My favourite moment was sitting in the front garden, looking across the landscape to the sea sipping a gin and tonic!
The house has plenty of space for people to find a room to read or be quiet, or for everyone to get together in an elegant living room with stylish, squashy sofas, a fireplace, large TV, dvds, and a view of the Cornish coast. We mainly ate in the bright dining room with huge glass doors overlooking the garden, at one point all 10 of us sitting round the table for a Sunday roast, but good weather meant we breakfasted outside in the secluded garden while the kids used the huge trampoline (complete with safety net so we could eat in peace).
The house a a shortish walk to the sea at Constantine Bay, or a slightly longer walk to Booby's Bay (our favourite). We shopped in Wadebridge for supermarkets and butchers etc. but there is also a really good local store near the turning for the beach with an amazing wine department and everything from deli food to cornflakes. Padstow isnearby for the best fish and chips on the harbour. We loved our time at Dalvay and want to come back!

We had a wonderful time
We had a wonderful time at Dalvay. Staying here with some great family friends. The property was spacious and ideal for us all (4 adults and 3 kids). There is great access to Contstantine Bay and Booby's beaches and we also had stunning walks on the headland. The bungalow was charming and cosy warm. It's obviously a much loved home in an absolutely ideal location. It more than met all our needs and we would love to come back again, perhaps this summer to enjoy the garden more, the views and get in the sea.

About the host
Hosted by Jean Stewart
I live and work in Bristol with my family, but we would really rather live in this house in Cornwall! We spend lots of time in Constantine Bay with friends and family, but we also let the house for some weeks of the year as we want it to be lived in, and shared and enjoyed. Our children and lots of our friends' children have come to this house for holidays since they were babies, and they are still coming! We love this part of the world, whatever the season, whatever the weather.
Why they chose this property
This house has been in our family for over 30 years, and everyone who visits calls it a 'happy home'. We love the area for its beauty and the big skies - and waking up with the atlantic ocean on your doorstep. It is called locally '7 Bays for 7 Days' and there really is a fantastic choice of beaches and facilities and activities in the area - for whatever you want to do, at whatever time of the year. Plus there are now some fantastic local bars and restaurants. And although it can feel wild and remote, the area is easily accessible - by car, train and bicycle ! - and an airport 20 minutes away.
What makes this property unique
You can step straight into our house, and relax! Everyone who visits calls this a 'happy home', and it is a very easy house to run. It is a bungalow with a very spacious layout, and even when the bedrooms are full, it never feels crowded with people. You can walk out into a very private garden from numerous doors to the outside, sit under the cherry blossom, eat breakfast in your pyjamas or jump on the trampoline. This has always been a family house and it is well equipped for children of any age, but it is also a house that fits any kind of party.
