The Piggery is a wonderful place for a truly relaxing holiday. It is surrounded by large gardens and beautiful countryside, is well equipped and is an ideal base for exploring the tourist attractions of the Dordogne area.

Perfect hideaway
We had an idyllic stay in 'The Piggery' at Le Verger. It is cosy and comfortable, very private and perfect for a get-away-from-it-all holiday, which is what we wanted. Uninterrupted views over beautiful rolling countryside, peaceful and unspoilt but with comfy bed and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. We had a truly relaxing holiday, with a few days spent exploring the area with its leisure lake and original cave art. We will definitely come again.

traditional charm with contemporary comfo
Le Verger is a beautiful old stone maison in the French provincial style, set in glorious rolling countryside, with views of unspoilt nature all around. It is also close to pretty villages, an old forge, a leisure lake, ancient perigord towns and the Dordogne river. We loved exploring the area and the famous Lascaux caves too. The house was equipped with everything necessary for our stay including a large kitchen diner including up to date mod cons and spotless rooms with comfortable beds.
We will be returning to Le Verger in future as it is perfect for our family holidays.
About the host
Hosted by david lambert
David and Michele are both Francophiles and have lived in France a collective 10 years. When not in Cambridge where we teach at Anglia Ruskin University, we run intensive French residential courses in our house, 'Le Verger' (Dordogne) and its converted gite in the grounds, The Piggery (La Petite Maison). Both enthusiastic teachers, our courses give all our students a massive confidence boost in French at beginner, GCSE and A level French. Our new course : French for living and holidays. Ask about our Writers' Retreats for creative writers which we have been running successfully for 11 years. David is a writer and teaches creative writing. Contact us if you are interested in a Writer's Retreat: space, peace and quiet and time to write that novel or memoir with all meals (including wine) and guidance if needed. For both French and Writing Retreats, get a group of 4 or more together and get your place discounted....
