Nice location for our young Family

Safe, nice, good heard people! For us a car was indispensable to drive to very beautiful beaches. The food is very nice, too!

Posto molto suggestivo...

Il complesso è moderno e molto nuovo, la piscina non particolarmente profonda ma molto suggestiva, personale super disponibile e sorridente, per quanto riguarda le spiagge, è quasi incredibile davanti al complesso c’è un enorme spiaggia dove poter far attività sportiva e mangiare qualche frutto in completa libertà, senza incontrare praticamente nessuno...fantastico. In direzione ......Macri gialos è raggungibile a piedi con 20 minuti di camminata dove trovare ristoranti e negozi di souvenir, con anche qualcosina per i bimbi. In direzione Goudaras...... si trovano spiaggie e calette inimmaginabili...da sogno.... È obbligatoria la macchina.. Unica nota stonata la free wi-fi non funziona praticamente e tutte le trasmissioni dati anche su gli propri DEVICE funziona in modo pessimo su questa parte dell isola... UN POSTO PERFETTO PER FAMIGLI E COPPIE LO CONSIGLIEREI DAVVERO!

Very peaceful and great location for exlporing

The apartment was small but fine for a couple. It was clean, modern and well equipped. It is in a great location for exploring the East of Crete. The complex was very quite and the pool areas were delightful. A car is a necessity. A great relaxing week.

Belle propriété

Agréable appartement, mais bruyant à cause des voisins, un peu trop isolé, une voiture est vraiment indispensable. Accueil cependant très professionnel et sympathique. La résidence est propre, bien entretenue. Pas de sèche cheveux dans l'appartement. Les abords de la plage sont laids. Makrygialos manque d'authenticité. Village seulement balnéaire. Sinon la région est magnifique, sauvage, coin très reposant.

Small but perfectly formed accommodation

We are a family of four 2 adults, a teenager and a child and recently stayed at Neal & Debra's apartment. The apartment had everything we needed and was exactly as described. Neal was extremely helpful from initial enquiry through to our actual stay. He was informative giving advice on car hire and places to visit during our stay. We had a wonderful holiday and Areti and her management team at Lagada Bay could not do enough from arranging transport for evenings out to ordering morning coffee and pastries from the local bakery. Makri Gialos is a beautiful unspoilt resort - a step back in time where our youngest daughter enjoyed a paddle in the sea in between the courses of our evening meal at the Golden Beach taverna. Will definitely be returning.

A lovely place to stay

We have just come back from an 11 night stay. Everything from emailing to Neil before booking to arriving at the property was a good experience. The directions to the property were great and when we arrived we were met by the lovely Areti, who was full of useful information of where to go, shop, eat etc. The apartment is in a quiet location , the pools are great, plenty of sunbeds, and on occasion, as it was almost the end of the season, we had the pool to ourselves. The property itself is small, but perfectly formed. The roof terrace was a great place to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine. The only drawback was that we had to get in the car to go into the town to the restaurants and shops. The actual location of the property does mean that, in my opinion, you do need a car, or a very good pair of legs! If you go to this property I don't think you will be disappointed, enjoy.

Great peaceful location

The property was very clean and tidy. We found the owners very informative about the area before our visit and the Management team,especially Areti, was exceptionally helpful with our enquiries about the Greek crisis which was going on at the time of our visit. She was also helpful with suggesting places to eat/shop/and visit. The location of the apartment to the beach was perfect for us as were the swimming pools. We would definitely consider another visit in the future and recommend to family and friends.

Fantastic Apartment/Location

Thank you so much for the apartment, it was gorgeous and was such a beautiful location. Had a perfect relaxing holiday and couldn't have asked for more. It is perfectly situated, nice and peaceful but not too far from the restaurants, shops etc. Would recommend Gusto’s restaurant on the beach front, think I would go back just for their Garlic Bread, it was delicious. Thank you to Neal and Debra for all of your help leading up to the holiday, you were extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble - the tourist book on Marki-Gialos that you sent out before my holiday to have a look a teas a lovely touch and a phone call to answer any questions was very much appreciated! Two very helpful and accommodating owners! Anya and the resort is lovely, sat out on the balcony every morning and evening which was lovely, really didn’t want to come home and back to reality – but unfortunately I had too! Would definitely recommend this apartment and location! The owners are fabulous! Will definitely be back in the future!

Best Holiday Ever

Makrigialos is a lovely place.We had a blast.Our kids (9 & 16) had so much fun.Beautiful beaches,breath taking views.The apartment was very nice,well equipped and clean.The pools at Bay View apartments were excellent.We could not ask for more.Anja and Chris took care of us from the beginning to the end. Friendly people,great food,lovely place.We would love to come back someday. Thank you very much :)

Why they chose this property

We love Crete and in 2007 discovered Makrigialos which combines authentic Cretan village life with beautiful beaches and a variety of dining experiences.
We love the fact that we can transport ourselves to a really peaceful and genuine part of the Mediterranean and totally relax whilst having the benefits of a modern apartment as our holiday home.

What makes this property unique

Our apartment is relatively new (completed in May 2009), very comfortable with the highest quality fittings and equipment. We like to eat on the balcony while enjoying stunning views of the mountains and bay.
Makrigialos has a good selection of shops and beachside restaurants offering plenty of interest and variety for our holidays.
Crete's south east area is relatively quiet and a perfect location for walking or relaxing on any of the beautiful local sandy beaches.
