Mill cottage, being attached to our home known as Iron Mills, was formerly a working Mill. The cottage, which is the original building, dates back to the 17th century and still retains a rotating mill wheel which was completely refurbished last year. The cottage is attached to our main house and we are situated in the older part of the village which has retained much of its original charm. The garden borders the River Caen, which meanders through Braunton village and out into the Taw & Torridge estuary. Just across the river is the beautiful 13th Century church of St.Brannock. Just a five-minute walk into the village centre, you will find a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and surf shops. We operate a non-smoking policy throughout the cottage.

Ben and Carole were lovely hosts. They met us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know for an enjoyable stay. The cottage was a lovely surprise. It was cosy, spotless and well equipped. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Braunton.

Cosy, well equipped and very comfortable.
Lovely helpful and friendly owners, well located cottage close to shops etc. Very comfortable accomodation for four adults, although small it is perfectly formed ! We enjoyed our stay very much.
What a lovely quirky cottage and one of the best equipped we have stayed in. The secluded garden was a real bonus!
The cottage’s convenient location to the town, beaches and walks made for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Thank you Carole and Ben for making us so welcome as nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommend this accommodation.
The cottage was warm and cosy with everything you could need and set in a beautiful, peaceful location.
Carole and Ben were the perfect hosts.
The cottage was a 5 minute walk into Braunton centre for the shops, restaurants, pubs and tourist information.
It is a 10 minute drive to wonderful beaches.
We will definitely return.
Brilliant from start to finish. Really good communication with Carole through the booking process and met us at the property.
Spotless clean, Carole and Ben had really thought about the little things that make your stay away easier.
Great location to explore the local area by foot, bus or car. Good local pub in the village where the locals made us so welcome.
Would give the whole stay 10/10!
A beautiful cottage perfectly equipped and tucked away in a quiet location a short walk away from Braunton village.
Carole the owner is a wonderful host, and nothing was too much trouble - even supplying us with new batteries for the Christmas tree lights.
We look forward to returning again later in the year.
Mill Cottage is full of character and very cosy. It is very well equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Carole and Ben are very friendly, welcoming hosts, and the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. Braunton is ideal for a holiday, with a range of shops and places to eat, and is very well situated for visiting the stunning local beaches and walks, and other attractions in this beautiful area. We really enjoyed our holiday and would not hesitate to return in the future. Thank you.
The property was fabulous a great location to explore north devon and north cornwall,. Saunton beach one of britains treasures when tide out a huge expanse of sandy beach perfect to excercise your dogs . Some lovely walks around braunton and fabulous places such as bude to visit .property had everything and even though it was hot nice cool bedroom lovely lounge and practical kitchen, with simple to operate shower . Our hosts available and on hand if needed without crowding you . Thoroughly enjoyed our week with water wheel a quirky feature
The cottage was ideal for our break in Devon - clean, comfortable, with very welcoming owners next door who could not have been more helpful. We had problems with a tap on our first day and it was immediately replaced for us. We were also kindly lent an extra body board to use at the beach. The location is a great base for getting to the beaches at Saunton and Croyde; the traffic could be a bit slow through Braunton as people went or returned from the beach but then it was peak season and lovely weather! We had a great stay and would be very happy to return.
We enjoyed our stay so much; the property was lovely and Carole was a brilliant host with just the right balance of friendliness and availability whilst leaving us to get on with our holiday. The cottage felt like home and was really comfortable with lots of little homely touches but not at all cluttered. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and the furniture was comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. The WiFi and TV worked really well too. We were wary of the shower, having had so many poor ones at other properties, but even that was great. The little garden was an unexpected bonus. I would recommend to anyone else and I do hope we'll be back at some point in the future.
A wonderful little cottage., perfect position for everything we wanted to do. Carole and Ben were great hosts, greeted us on arrival and helped set up the BBQ when we struggled to connect the gas. They had left us a lovely welcome pack - including prosecco - which was really appreciated. There is a private garden to use as well which was great. Really clean and tidy, well finished and nice touches around the cottage too. The shower and water pressure were great. Plenty of storage and good size bedrooms. Would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely go back.
Thank you Carole and Ben for a lovely stay - hope to see you again soon.

Lovely warm welcome from the hosts who showed us around and then left us to it, but also helped out when needed. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need plus welcome extras (Prosecco and chocolates are a good touch after a four hour drive with a toddler!). Lovely garden area with barbecue too although the weather let us down a bit before we could make the most of this. The nicest holiday cottage we’ve stayed in, I think we’ll be back next year!
We stayed for 2 weeks in the cottage which was in an excellent location for visiting Devon and Cornwall and had everything we needed for our stay. Carole and Ben were very welcoming and excellent hosts.
