About this property

Sitting in the lounge window of Santa Lucia gives a lovely aspect towards Place Rosetti and its church one way, and a stunning view to the old town buildings the other. Santa Lucia is in a superb location in the very heart of the Old Town of Nice, a short walk from the beach, Cours Saleya and Place Rosetti. At night you can sit under the window, perhaps enjoying a glass of locally produced rose wine, whilst listening to the chatter in the street below. Or if you want perfect peace, just close the original shutters and double glazed windows, and the chatter fades away. Santa Lucia is a one bed, one bath apartment which has been lovingly renovated in a fresh style, whilst keeping as many of its original features as possible. The fireplace, tomette floor, doors, shutters and painted beams are all original leaving the apartment bursting with character. That said we have installed all modern amenities you would expect including a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom as well as a technology centre with international cable TV, DVD and complimentary WI-FI.

Lovely apartment in Vieux Nice

Spacious and well equipped, this apartment is in an ideal location; close to the beach, restaurants, local fruit&vege market, and tram stop. Important for us was excellent wifi and a washing machine.

Very French....

The appartment was perfectly situated just off the main avenue and tram route from the airport inside the old town ,an easy walk from the main tram station. The appointment is on the 2nd floor with 4 short flights of stairs to climb. You have all the items you need to enjoy your stay laid out in a typical French style although the access to the bath and wc can be a tight squeeze....a comfortable bed and plenty of hanging space . We did have some noise from building work in the block and the apartment above starting around 8.00 and people returning from the night clubs at 3 .00 so not one for the light sleepers. Overall if you are looking for a real French experience this is the place for you .

Ich war zum 2. Mal in diesem Apartment und wieder sehr zufrieden. Dorine, die das Apartment betreut ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Apartment ist für Altstadtverhältnisse sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Ich werde es wieder buchen, wenn ich wieder nach Nizza komme.

Great authentic location in the heart of the old town Nice. Little bit loud at times at night, no air conditioning in the summer, might be a bit hot for some people. My partner would have liked a full length mirror. Otherwise a wonderful spot with all the necessities included in the apartment

Bit of a Mixed Experience

We stayed at the apartment for four days in July 2023. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but your view will depend on whether you prefer (1) being in the heart of vibrant, lively Nice old town or (2) having a quiet relaxing stay. This is because the apartment is not air-conditioned and we were there during some very hot weather, so that we had to keep the windows open at night. This meant that it could be very noisy. Depends on what you want!!

Amazing Stay in Nice

We loved our stay in Linda's home; the property management people were extremely responsive in their communication, and made the checkin/checkout experience very smooth. The home is in a great area, and we were able to easily get around town from the home. I would highly recommend - thanks Linda and all!

Premier séjour en février : parfait. Deuxième séjour beaucoup trop court en juin, toujours aussi agréable. L'appartement propre et accueillant est calme et frais malgré la chaleur. Le lit est parfait. Le Vieux Nice est à la porte. Je programme le troisième séjour !

Lovely stay

Check in was easy and we found the apartment as described in the listing. It felt quite spacious and comfortable and was quiet at night. There was always plenty of hot water and all the basics were provided. The washing machine was useful. We stayed two weeks and would have appreciated a change of towels and bedding at the half way point. We also thought a couple of the pans could do with replacing. However, it was good to be able to cook using some of the excellent local produce available locally. As others have said, the apartment is ideally situated for visiting all the sights and using the fantastic public transport system in Nice. We would certainly consider staying there again if we visit Nice in the future.

Location was incredible. It was in the heart of Nice. Easy walking distance to every important attraction. The apartment is very old . Bed was very uncomfortable and did not have a top bed sheet . I have been traveling for the past 3 months in Europe by far this apt was not up to my standards.

Calme, bien situé, près de la colline du château et de la cathédrale Ste Réparate. Le tram est à deux pas. L' appartement niçois est plein de charme, très attachant, les persiennes donnent à la chambre une intimité joyeuse. Un séjour d'hiver à Nice que je n'oublierai pas.

Winter escape

I stayed for a month in this lovely apartment in the heart of old Nice escaping the Canadian winter. The hosts and the property manager were very accessible and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

Sympa, bien équipé et confortable.

Appartement sympa, très bien équipé et confortable (lit et canapé ok). J'ai prévenu de mon arrivée anticipée peu avant celle-ci : pas de problème. Quelques explications sur le fonctionnement de la ventilation et de la freebox n'auraient pas été superflues. La disposition des éclairages mériterait d'être revue. Attention à la tête quand on va dans la salle de bains ! :)

A great spot in the old part of Nice.

Communication was very good with both the owner and property manager. The new washing machine didn’t work, but they tried to get it fixed. When they couldn’t, they gave me a small refund, which was very gracious. Great shops and restaurants nearby. Minutes from the beach and a close and direct walk to the stairs up to an amazing view over the city and Mediterranean. Be sure to lower the mosquito screen. I did but it must have snapped open in the night. I had a visit from a pigeon very early in the morning. Thankfully it escaped on its own, though it came very close to getting hit by the ceiling fan. It made for a few frantic moments, but we were wide awake and ready for the day after it left! Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect spot to experience Old Nice

We had a very comfortable stay at the Santa Lucia apartment. The host met us there and showed us the various features of the apartment, which was much appreciated. Be sure to read through the binder with more information as well. The apartment was fairly large and well-equipped. It is two floors above street level, which was perfect for leaving the windows open to listen to the sounds of humanity in the street below. The windows are also great at blocking sound when they are closed, so the night life won't keep you from sleeping. We were able to step out of the building and within minutes be at the market, at the beach, any of about a million great restaurants in Old Nice, up Castle Hill, or on the tram or bus to make our way to museums and other destinations. It was a great experience and a great way to "discover" Nice. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

Nice in Nice

A lovely location and accommodation - old Town Nice has so much to offer and the tram from the airport for 1.5€ drops you five minutes walk from the flat. Check out the truffle Resturant and the daily markets - the walk upto the old castle or along the promenade are things to decently to do - we highly recommend.

A perfect play to spend your holiday

Santa Lucia is a very charming apartment in the middle of the old Nice and very close to the Place Rossetti. The apartment is clean, fresh, friendly and - this is really wonderful - so quiet. You can easily relax between your city tours and find a wonderful rest, your own kitchen and everything you need. Enjoy it !

We have been together over 20 years now and are lucky enough to have a daughter Lucy. We have always enjoyed travelling, and we realised that as parents, the best quality self catering accommodation was for us better than a stay in a hotel. Over the years we have found the best and worst experiences of staying in owners properties and we have drawn on all this history to ensure everyone who stays with us has the best holiday possible.

Why they chose this property

We love Nice, it is a beach resort but with a vibrant city feel. There is something happening throughout the year in Nice, Carneval, Christmas Markets, Jazz Festivals. There is nothing better than strolling down the Promenade des Anglais on a summer's evening before dining in a fabulous restaurant or shopping in the quaint shops in the Old Town. Santa Lucia is in the very heart of the Old Town but in a lovely, quiet street.

What makes this property unique

We spent many years searching for the right property in Nice. We immediately fell in love with Santa Lucia and have renovated it but kept the period features - Tomette tiled floors, marble fire place, ceiling fans. It is on the second floor of a traditional Nicois building so not too many steps to climb!
