Stayed here for a Boho trip. Nothing but nice things to stay, had a great visit!! Owner was awesome at communication and very clear with check in and check out. Highly recommend
Comfortable house. Even with continuous snow drive way and sidewalks were clear of snow and plenty of parking for our work trucks. Better than staying in a hotel all week.
Very clean, nice, and comfortable home. Its very convenient if you plan on riding the local trails. Since its an older house the stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are quite narrow and steep, but not bad at all, just something to keep in mind. It is more of a guest house, but Threse and Mike were so kind and welcoming. We appreciated the time to chat with them to learn the history of the homes and see their beautiful garden. We would definitely come back again.
This was the perfect place for my husband and me. The host was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The host gave me some freshly picked berries that were delicious. The cabin worked perfect for us; it could easily occupy a couple of families. We enjoyed the trail nearby for a nice walk in the woods right across from the property. The cabin had all the things we needed. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it if you are looking for a place in the area.
I enjoyed the convenience of nearby Calumet and close to Houghton. It’s very nice and the host is responsible. Good choice

House had plenty of room and was comfortable. Typical cottage with wolf pictures and lots of chairs and couches in the living room. We appreciated the kitchen with utensils and pots and pans. Bed in main bedroom had a bit of sag in middle but was fine. Only complaint was that card that identified user name and password didn’t work. The host told us they had to leave work to reboot it and that it was a problem with our computers or cell phones. We got one of the WiFi options to work after it was rebooted.
Clean, comfortable bed, and very well located. This place was perfect for fall, color tour of the Keweenaw.

Not for the weak
I would recommend this home, unless you're unable to climb stairs. Lots of stairs. The mother in law fell twice going up. An older home isn't up to code on those small things we take for granted. Other than that, it was great.
Well stocked kitchen and accommodating host. Narrow/steep stairs to the second floor with the only bathroom but pretty typical for the older mining era houses in the area.
Would stay again.
Three kids and hubby. Kids loved the separate bedrooms where they could hang out. Loved the decor and very responsive host. If they will have us, we'd love to come again.
The place was clean and comfortable with the owner easily accessible. The only downside is the arrangement of the bedrooms and bathroom. You have to walk through either the bathroom or another bedroom to reach the back bedroom. It is awkward for 2 couples at times.

Loved our stay! Will definitely rent again if its available
Thesera was at the property when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The property was pretty much as listed. It was clean and fit our needs as we stayed in the area.
The experience was nothing short of absolute hell. Huge infestation of bed bugs, and were not the only ones as there was many parties before us with same experience. Nothing was ever disclosed about this issue all 3 of our kids were covered in bites. Only stayed 1 night of 4 and was still charged and harassed for payment
*** DO NOT STAY HERE FAIR WARNING ***
We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our time there. The bedroom was fine, and the kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. One thing that could be added would be a hard copy list of the cable channels. The house is a short drive from the Swedetown ski trails, which are the main attraction for us in Calumet.
The VRBO software messed up the transaction details, but Theresa was very good at communicating/working thru this with me. The place was well kept, and centrally located on the peninsula. The snow was great

About the host
Hosted by Theresa Randolph
I have lived in this area for 33 years and have enjoyed all that the wild outdoors has to offer from fishing to hiking, biking, back packing, skiing, wild berry picking, rock hounding, and much more. This has made me very familiar with the off the beaten track areas which I like to share. I have worked in the local service industry and like to give recommendations of favorites to experience.
Why they chose this property
I purchased the property to use it as a family guest place. My guests suggested many times that it is such a great place that I should offer it to vacationers, so I have. The neighborhood is peaceful and the woods have a walking and biking trail and is just across the street from the house. There's also an amphitheater only a few blocks away that has entertainment throughout the summer months. There is a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch, only a block away. There are quite a few other businesses located close to the cabin in Calumet including a grocery store, laundry mat, theater, gas, restaurants and many gift shops. Lake Superior beaches are located only 4 miles from the cabin. Groomed ski trails and a sledding hill are a mile and a half away. its a wonderful central location to all the actives.
What makes this property unique
It is easy to fall in love with the area because of the small town feel and peacefulness of the area where couples take evening walks hand in hand with their children .There is a 10 pm curfew for kids under 16 and a whistle sounds at 10pm to let them know. The woods are across the road making it a quiet place yet close enough to town that you can get there quickly. There is a local hospital Aspirus only 2 blocks away. The main snowmobile and ATV trail is 1/2 mile away from the cabin, you don't have to go on main roads to get to it. When community events occur and there's fireworks you can see them from the windows of the cabin. Off street parking that can accommodate up to three trucks and trailers.
