Large cottage on coast path between Polzeath & Port Quin ... superb views!
Our lovely holiday home has been in the family for 50 years! It now has under-floor heating throughout, 6 comfortable bedrooms (including a separate annexe) sleeping a total of 14 people, 5 bath and shower rooms and parking for several cars. The huge windows at the front of the house all look over completely unspoilt coastline, including Pentire Glaze, the Rumps and The Mouls Island. The large patio is the perfect location for family barbeques, while the garden lends itself to games of all sorts including a huge area for football, basketball or practising golf! Well behaved pets - in the utility area - also welcome!

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the property. Owner was very helpful when contacted by phone with problems. We loved the location of the property to walks, beaches and sights.
We had a wonderful week in Tresawl , the location and the accommodation was perfect for our family holiday which consisted of 12, with ages ranging from 16 - 83 years. We were able to all sit together to enjoy meals and play cards and board games.
My husband and I stayed in the Shepherds Hut which was more than adequate, the only suggestion would be the addition of a heated towel rail in the bath room.
The views were outstanding, the bay window was amazing and where everyone wanted to sit and relax! I will never tire of a sea view. We are more used to seeing the Rumps from Polzeath or further away in Port Isaac, the autumnal colours added further beauty.
An added bonus was the coastal walks to Epphaven and further to Doyden Castle and Port Quin.
We would definitely recommend staying at Tresawl
Me and my friends stayed here for a long weekend. Have no complaints was amazing from the location and view of the sea to the warm, homely feel of the house itself and what it comes equipped with. Would recommend this place to anyone. The sea was walking distance, plenty of parking spaces, comfy beds and easy communication with the owner throughout.

Outstanding location with wonderful scenery. House is modern and well equipt, spacious and bright.
We had a wonderful stay. The extra wet suits and boards were great. The dogs loved the garden and walks. We had great weather.
One of the showers leaked badly so we couldn't use it but there were others!
Would recommend this lovely house. Thanks for a great holiday.
Had a great few nights away.
Property had plenty of space for the seven of us and watching the sunset into the sea was absolutely wonderful.
If I was to suggest any improvement, and it is pretty trivial but throw out the chipped and random sized mugs and check to see what bedrooms are to be made up.
We spent a very happy week at Tresawl.
First impressions were not good as on arrival the house smelt very musty, not very clean and full of flies. The smell we found out later was caused by the vacuum cleaner. We were very glad we did not need to use the shepherds hut as this was damp and cold and very uninviting.
A party of 14 would not be able to eat together round the table, we managed to squeeze 12 round the larger table, but it was a squeeze.
We were glad we had not taken our two dogs with us as although this house is advertised as dog friendly I think this statement is very misleading. They are allowed about a metre inside the back door and the utility room, no further. The garden is not enclosed.
We still enjoyed a brilliant week and Epphaven Cove is idyllic. The games kept both children and adults entertained on our one wet day.
The property is in a lovely peaceful location with a beautiful view facing the sea. At times all you could hear was the wind and a Skylark singing away high in the sky. The lane by the side of the house leads down to the coastal footpath and as it was windy for our stay there were some great views of crashing waves when we walked to Port Quin. Very Poldark like. The beach mentioned in the property description is Epphaven Cove, but we found the boulders too slippery and dangerous to clamber over to get to the beach. The house was well equipped with plenty of everything we would need. Neither table though was quite big enough for 12 people. Plenty of games to choose from as well as lots of books to read and the kids loved playing outside including the excitement of the cows being herded up and down the lane. It is worth noting that the upstairs bedroom only has an en-suite toilet and basin. The biggest bedroom has an en suite with shower. The kids bedroom has a bathroom at the far end with shower over. Which leaves two bathrooms accessible from the hallway, one with a shower and the other with a bath. The Shepherd’s hut was the other room with single beds and a shower en suite. This wasn’t practical for us to use as well as feeling cold and damp. All in all though we had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this place to anyone contemplating staying here.

Treswal
This is our third visit to Treswal and we absolutely love it. We are a family of 14, including 8 children, and we have the most amazing memories. The views are superb, as is the location. Highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you Susie
The property is situated in an enviable location with stunning views. Plenty of walks available from the front door and places to visit with the car. Great week away, we had sun 90% of the time. I would recommend this house for a week in lovely surroundings.
Perfect for Christmas with grandparents and grown up children.

Lovely autumn visit
Lovely property with glorious views, perfect for a family stay. It is worth noting that the beaches within walking distance are coves that are a little difficult to get to with small children - otherwise excellent position close to all key tourist areas and just a really peaceful space to enjoy. The property manager was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
Amazing property that was well equipped and had incredible views. Within walking distance to beaches and Polzeath. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Susie also had great communication. Can't fault

Lovely large house amazing location
We stayed with mine and my brothers family youngest child being 3 and oldest 15, the children had a great time and enjoyed the large amount of games available to play with,
The location is beautiful and the house lovely we really enjoyed our stay
We had a lovely weekend together at Tresawl. Great location for a chilled weekend with friends, with an amazing view. There was plenty of space for us all, and the house, especially the kitchen, was very well equipped. Only a short drive to both Polzeath and Port Isaac, where we enjoyed paddleboarding and eating out!
Susie was a great host, always pleased to answer any questions we had.

Honest review
Very tired and in need of a deep clean inside and out. This is not a criticism of the cleaners they can only do a reasonably quick job at changeover day. The property hasn’t had a good clean for a long time. However the position is lovely and we had a lovely time.
Lovely cottage near some stunning coastal scenery.
Epphaven beach was much more of a rock climb to get to than some in our party could manage, but only a short car ride to Polzeath which had everything we needed.
The cottage is amongst farmland which I think was the source of a lot of spiders and flies. Other than that it is very well equipped and we had a great time.
We had a week of lovely sunshine, thunderstorms and everything in-between. Couldn't have picked a better location and the property itself has everything we needed for a brilliant family holiday. The beach at low-tide is a must - it feels like a private cove in mid-August! Surfing, swimming, rockpools, birdwatching, cave-exploring all a short walk from the house. Amazing coastal path walks just a short distance away. Livelier Polzeath just a 10-minute drive or an hour's spectacular coastal walk.

Perfect!
We had a fantastic time staying in this wonderfully kitted out house celebrating my 30th birthday. The views were stunning with the sun set each night looking much like a painting. It was a delightful surprise to meet some very friendly cows in the field near by on our walk towards the coast. The lovely Polzeath beach was only a mere 5 minute drive away and was perfect for a game of rounders on the beech. The only criticism is that it would have been nice to have a picture of the shepherds hut so we could see what it was like before we came. No internet peeps! But this was a bonus as it meant we had no distractions and all had fun in conversation and played board games into the evening.
I really hope to come back and stay here again sometime, I’ve even told the family and I really think the kids would love the area too :)
Thank you Susie for all your help.

About the host
Hosted by Susie Swadling
Susie is a retired teacher, Phil is a lecturer in the electrical trade and was a builder and property renovator. We have 3 sons, all of whom spent many happy summers on 'our' beach, rock jumping, cave exploring, sand castle building, crabbing and surfing. We live in the South East near Gatwick, but go down to Epphaven whenever we can!
Why they chose this property
Susie's mum originally bought the house in 1970. It always had the magnificent view, but the garden was so overgrown that you could not see out of the windows and there was no mains electricity. It is substantially different nowadays! We love the location as it is so unspoilt and yet close to all the buzz of Polzeath, Rock & Padstow.
What makes this property unique
The view is simply one of the best you will find anywhere in the world! Although close to the lively hotspots of Rock and Polzeath, Tresawl is in a most peaceful and tranquil location.
Perfect for all sorts of occasions whether there are 4 or 14 in your party!
