Absolutely beautiful villa and garden, extremely clean, very spacious. Bev is absolutely wonderful, beautiful inside and out. We would definitely like to stay here again
This house was awesome. Lots of space and well maintained. The area is quite and safe. Very true to the pictures. I would stay there again. We had a couple issues, that were outside the owners control. But communication was great.A car is neccessary to get around. The only comment from the group was the early time and frequency of the housekeeper. The
Last minute surprise booking for a trip for my family of 4 (literally two weeks before arrival date). Very responsive & super helpful owners. We arrived late but was blown away by the space within the villa. Waking up the next morning we saw the villa in its true glory. This was the perfect accommodation for our first stay in Barbados. Pictures don’t give it justice. There is AC upstairs but we literally hardly used it as we liked the fact there was ceiling fans. The villa is spacious and is well equipped with towels, beach towels, games, kitchen equipment, BBQ, swimming pool etc. You definitely need a car if your staying here with children. Villa is in close proximity of at least 5 nice beaches, the monkey park, marina & local shops & supermarkets. The housemaid Beverley was amazing. She kept the villa looking fresh, clean and tidy. She also provided us with tips & made our children feel at home. I would highly recommend her cooking & her rum punch. We would stay here again & definitely suitable for young children. 10/10 ratings
Exactly what it says. Best equipped property we have stayed in on the island. And a super efficient housekeeper.Quiet neighbourhood, space for everyone, bats flying around at dusk, lots of different birds, and monkeys playing opposite. Can walk to the bus stops and little beach, but part of the way no pavement. We would definitely go back.
Beautiful home, beautiful location, never had a concern. We had two families stay with 4 young children between us and there was everything we needed both practically and for fun. Dealing with Beverly was a joy, she takes such good care of the property and of us!! We are already talking about a return trip.
This is our second visit to Palm Villa and will not be our last. Bev is the best house keeper you could wish for. Always very accommodating on top of making your holiday one to remember.
Good location for the beach with a bit of a walk but it is well worth it. The villa has plenty of room for a family holiday.
Can't wait to visit again.
The villa was very big which suited our family. There were bathrooms for every bedroom, a big spacious kitchen and lounge. There is a Great bar area with a darts board, great for evenings in. The outside area is fantastic with large swimming pool, beautiful coconut trees and a great area for bbq. The cleaning lady Beverly was brilliant and a pleasure to meet. The villa is a bit of a way out of town and a car would be advisable, although the beaches are 10 minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this villa.
We were five couples at the Palm Villa for ten days.
We had a great time here, everything was to our liking. Plenty of room inside and outside of the villa, with a small but nice outdoor swimming pool.
The backyard is gorgeous, surrounded by palm trees for privacy.
Nicely appointed kitchen, with everything that you need for cooking. Bev does a great job cleaning and maintaining the property.
We loved spending time at the Heywoods Beach, just a few minutes drive away - it's secluded, with just a few people around and calm, turquoise water, good for swimming and snorkeling.
We visited other beaches on the island, but Heywoods Beach was our favourite.
Highly recommended property - we would stay here again, if we visit Barbados in the future.
Villa looks just like the pictures, lovely and clean and has everything you need for self catering. Kitchen is well stocked which is great. Bedrooms were spacious and comfy beds. Upstairs balcony was our favourite space, it’s lovely on an evening. Outside area is great, plenty of space for children and the pool area is fab.
Personally we thought the grass needed cutting more often as it was quite long after our 10 day stay. The house keeper was great, she made us a meal which was to die for, we would definitely recommend her cooking!
We would without a doubt stay here again but would ask for the house keeper to come a little less as it’s quite a lot having someone else there 3 days a wk in a private villa especially when they let themselves in at 7am!
I’d definitely recommend this villa, owners were very helpful and location is good.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Not worth the money
Although we did enjoy our stay here, below are some of the negatives
- Leftover meet and other items by previous occupants in the fridge and freezer
- Empty beer bottles were present when we checked in
- Too many dos and don’ts to follow on a holiday
- The cleaner came in around 7:30am and mentioned that if the bedrooms are not free she won’t be able to clean. On a holiday we didn’t want to be pressured about wake-up times.
- As we were in a rush to go out, we were thinking of doing the dishes on our return but the cleaner asked us why the dishes were not loaded in dishwasher and that it might attract flies. If we’ve rented a property for certain number of days, it’s our choice to do the dishes as we please. Having the cleaner for a long time around the house was infringing on our privacy and it felt like she was supervising us.
- Table tennis provisions listed as present were not there. This was quite disappointing for our son.
- Beach is not easily accessible
- We felt the price was expensive
This is a good size villa able to accommodate at least 10 people. We are a family of 4 and so had plenty of space. The grounds are well maintained and we had the benefit a house-keeper who visits 2 or 3 times a week although beware, she starts work at 7.30am and could still be in the villa until midday. She is a lovely person. Bedrooms are air-conditioned but none of the downstairs has any cooling apart from ceiling fans. The Villa heats up quite quickly during the day and it can make it a bit uncomfortable inside. The garden area is a good size with a small but nice pool area which has nice outside lights. BBQ area is good and right by the bar room. Big parking area for more than one car. Lot's of bars on windows plus internal cage doors to padlock at night. There isn't really very much within walking distance. The humidity and steep hill from the beach to the villa put us off walking. You will need a car and then you can get to the good restaurants, beaches and other things of interest. Everything on the island is extremely expensive apart from Rum. There is not enough to do close to the villa so be prepared to use your car or book excursions and be picked up. Harrisons Caves are great as is the submarine. Harbour Lights dinner and show is good fun. You have 2 really good attractions being wildlife centre and St Nicolas Abbey plantation very close (withing 10 mins) so don't miss them. Try Fishermans Pot and Sugar Cane Club to eat but there's plenty of choice if you drive.
Amazing property with lots of space and plenty of places to relax. Pool and villa well equipped. Beds were comfortable for the majority of us. Bev was excellent. She's very responsive and makes an excellent meal. I would love to stay here again.
The house more than lived up to our expectations and the pictures are a true reflection of the property. Great spaces and everything you would want or need when self catering.
Would definitely stay at Maynards again.
First, I must comment on the professionalism of the housekeeper who was cordial and efficient. The villa met all the advertised expectations; quiet location, spacious both in the house and the ground.
The villa is really clean, spacious and well equipped; we were particularly impressed with the kitchen and so many towels! We were a group of seven adults and there was plenty of space for everybody. The outside space is lovely and quiet and we felt very safe and secure. Beverley was really helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Overall the villa was fantastic but we had a few small issues:
1. Bev the housekeeper didn't spend much time explaining thing on our arrival and appeared to be in a hurry to get away.
2. The grass was cut before we arrived (OK) and just before we left (not OK) and in Barbados it grows very quickly, not ideal for the children to play.
3. No table tennis as listed on the website.
4. Last clients rubbish left in the bin.
5. 10 sun beds but only 4 sunbed mattresses.
6. Alarm started beebing at 1.30 in the morning after a power cut, not told how to stop it.
Like I said a few small issue but the hoilday was good overall and would probably return again one day.
We couldn’t have been happier with this property. The pictures do not do this amazing villa justice. We travelled as 2 couples with 2 young babies and the villa was perfect. The kitchen had everything imaginable that was needed throughout the stay. Bev who looked after the villa was so welcoming and gave great recommendations. We will absolutely be returning.

About the host
Hosted by Hilary Brain
We run a successful holiday letting company in the UK and this is our first property rental in Barbados after having visited the island on holiday for the last 10 years. We have used our experience in the holiday letting market to decorate, furnish and equip the property to its current high standard using a mixture of traditional and contemporary fixtures and fittings. We believe we have created a holiday home for ourselves and others to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
We have been visiting Barbados annually for the last 10 years and our love of the island enticed us to purchase a property of our own. Barbados has something for everyone; the sun, sea and fun of the Caribbean along with excellent golf courses and exceptional restaurants. (In our 10 years of coming here we still haven't managed to sample them all!) The island exudes typical Caribbean charm and the locals are friendly and approachable. The direct flight from Gatwick is an added bonus; you don't waste time waiting for island hoppers so there’s plenty more time for an extra Banks beer!
What makes this property unique
The mixture of excellent pool facilities, tropical garden and spacious living area afford all visitors an unforgettable experience. Once you have stood on the balcony with a drink in your hand watching the sun go down over the Caribbean Sea, you will appreciate what a fantastic position Palm Villa commands.
