About this property

Elevated Site In Peaceful Donegal Bright Cottage - Fantastic Sea & Mountain view

This is a bright cheerful detached cottage no more than 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach.

Accommodation: Sleeps 5 people in three bedrooms.
The main bedroom has 1 x king size bed with built in fitted wardrobe.
The second bedroom has 2 x twin single beds and built in fitted wardrobe.
The third bedroom has 1 x single bed and shelving unit.

The kitchen has an under-the-counter fridge, kettle, toaster and coffee maker, electric cooker.

Included:
All bedlinen, towels and dishtowels.
Electricity and heating and water.
There are no hidden extras.

A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are also available at the property.

Oil fired central heating throughout the cottage.

For our guests convenience we have introduced arrival by lockbox system. The code for the lockbox will be emailed upon payment in full.

Minimum stay is 2 nights.

Enjoy your breakfast watching the sea or have your morning coffee sitting on the sofa looking out over the bay.

Enjoy the traditional warmth of an open turf fire blazing in the hearth.

Enjoy walking or cycling on quiet rural roads.

Swim in the sea at the local beach (within walking distance) or surf at the famous Dooey beach. Surfing lessons can be organised locally.

Fishing: More information on fishing permits and licences can be purchased locally at Doochary Post Office.

Explore the lovely county of Donegal - visit sights such as Assaranca Waterfall, Mghera Beach, Glenveigh House, Cruit Island.

Bins: Two bins are located at the rear of the property. The Black Bin is for general waste. The Red Bin is for dry, clean, recyclables only. Bins are collected from the front gate every second Thursday.

Fantastic break in donegal

Maison idéalement placé pour qui recherche calme
Nous avions réservé cette maison pour rayonner dans le Donegal, et celle ci est idéalement placée. La maison est confortable et correctement équipée. Peu de commerces à proximité ce qui nécessite de prévoir avant d'accéder au site. De plus Tony, notre hôte est charmant, mais hélas ne parle pas notre langue, ce qui limite les échanges

Easy to get around, Ferry to Arranmore only 30mins away, Mt Errigal 40mins. Crohy Head Arch, Dungloe 25mins. Easy walk to local beaches. Beautiful sunsets! Also love that all beds are good quality!

A fabulous cottage in an amazing spot
We were so delighted with this lovely cottage that we’ve already booked in for next year! It is quiet and surrounded by agricultural land and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and sea. It is minutes from a lovely beach that we enjoyed without the need to pack for a full day out, as we were able to walk back up to the cottage for lunch and back down to the beach afterwards. There are plenty of other beaches to explore further away. This property was perfect for our family with two young children and a puppy. We had a great mix of time on the beach and heading off the discover local waterfalls, a petting zoo and some castles. The kids are already planning next years trip!

The weather wasn't kind to us but the house was warm with lovely view of the sea. The area is remote which we like but the local beaches are not disabled friendly, resulting in my grandson not being able to visit them.

Our week in lettermacaward
We were very comfortable in the bungalow lovely views stags in the woods behind the house, seals bathing on the large rocks on the coast walk past Susan's beach, friendly neighbours great pub Elliott's,handy shop and tasty food in Gweebara bar, great views from the road in . The weather was quite miserable but the views stayed the same unfortunately due to this we didn't get to enjoy Dooey beach as we had hoped,the sea was chilly which made for a memorable swim.

Absolutely stunning sooooo relaxing!
This is a jewel of a property set in a stunningly beautiful part of Donegal. Add to that no TV no Wifi no internet what more could you ask for! This was an extremely relaxing holiday we really enjoyed ourselves so much. The view from the property was wonderful and the neighbours were so helpful. My sister and I were holidaying with our disabled husbands. Maureen Tony, and their family were so helpful even coming up with the one disablement aid we couldnt fit in the car!! Such a nice property in a really friendly place, We absolutely loved it!

Simple place in a lovely location
We had a lovely time, starting with a very warm welcome from Maureen & Tony. The bungalow is a very short walk from the local beach, where we saw all manner of life in the rock pools and enjoyed the peace. Around the corner & a 5 minute drive is Dooey beach where we also spent a lot of time and were lucky enough to see Dolphins. The headland is brilliant and the surrounding coastline spectacular. Dungloe is close with pubs and shops. The house itself is simple, sturdy and warm. The views out over the bay and out towards Mount Errigal are stunning. Perfect place to curl up with a book or two after time on the beach.

Very good value for money
We meet Maureen and Tony at the local bar and it was like meeting old friends,They are very friendly. They took us to the cottage and the view over the inlet was to die for. The cottage was clean and comfortable beds. and the neighbour were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go again. Everyone we meet in Ireland was very welcoming.The food and the staff at Gweebara bar was great. My wife and I both loved it.

Great little house with lovely views.
We were a small group of cyclist that took part in the recent Ras Donegal cycling event which was based in Ardara, We found this charming little house a perfect retreat to fully relax and unwind in at the end of some pretty spectacular and grueling stages that we took part in over the weekend. Both Tony and Maureen were very helpful and met us on the main road on a wet and windy night to show us to the cottage. The cottage itself was very well kitted out with a lovely open fire and plenty of well furnished bedrooms. This is the perfect place to relax and I could not recommend it highly enough. A truley beautiful part of Ireland.
