Charming Romantic Petit Chateau - all inclusive - in Turenne Centre

A petit Chateau with history and character, luxury, convenience & fun Hot Tub too!
Accommodates 6 people in 2 bedrooms with a double sofa bed in the main salon, with privacy screen. Cot & high chair available.
This lovely house is right in the heart of Turenne and has beautifully exposed beams, stone walls and stunning tower, with a secluded pretty garden, featuring a hot tub along with garden furniture for relaxing or al fresco dining. Being in the centre if Turenne, within walking distance to the bar, restaurants and shops. With Collonges-la-Rouge with it's beautiful red stone houses only 9,8 km away and Brive with all it's shops, bars and restaurants and Saturday market is only 15km away. Spa pool available for use during the summer, but additional charges for electricity will apply out of season, September to the end of June these are €20 per day to be paid in cash and this will be collected during your stay. The spa pool is free to use in July & August.

Turenne petit château

The property is very impressive and has all modern conveniences without spoiling the traditional feel. We enjoyed coffee each morning in the welcoming cafe next door and walking around the spectacular village. The hosts were very helpful and responsive.

Holiday in Turenne

Property was stunning. Very traditional which is what we were looking for. The welcome bottle of wine was also appreciated. The area was beautiful, peaceful and very quiet, so as a couple, we would return but probably not with teenage children.

Environnement magnifique

Super séjour à Turenne qui nous a permis de rayonner dans les alentours et de découvrir de nombreux et magnifiques villages classés, gabare sur la Dordogne, train à vapeur, gouffre de Padirac, Rocamadour et pans de Travasac. Autant de lieux différents, de paysages très variés alternant douceur de la vallée et rudesse de la pierre, région magnifique.

Un logement spacieux, typique, bien équipé, bien placé, dans un village très beau et une magnifique région. Un bémol : Un manque de pression d'eau à l'étage (espace nuit et sanitaires) tellement important que nous n'avons pas pu nous faire de shampoing (nous sommes allées chez le coiffeur !). Nous l'avons signalé dès le dimanche à la personne en charge du logement sur place, mais il nous été répondu qu'il n'était pas possible de faire mieux….

Escape to the Petit Chateau

From the moment we opened the antique gates leading to our French getaway in the height of a burning summer we knew we had arrived at somewhere special. The property was refreshingly cool in the midst of a scorching day. As we began to explore, we were taken aback by the character of the house, the turreted stair case which wound up gracefully to the second floor gave an impression of times past and the blocked off door ways set your mind a pondering, where did they lead !The wooden beams on the ground floor ceiling are mismatched which leads you to believe they had come from somewhere else ( The ruined Chateau on the hill perhaps ?) If they could tell a story ! As well as being beautiful and full of history on a practical level the house offered you everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the garden which was perfect for the afternoon sun as well as being secluded and shady. The hot tub was a lot of fun and even in the heat surprisingly cooling. We very much enjoyed Turenne, walking up the hills and exploring the footpaths which abound around the village. The bar next door was lovely and shady on a hot day. The local shop sold a lot of what you might need and the Pizzeria in the square was a delightful place to have a meal. We also had a fun mini train ride up the hill to the Chateau. We would really recommend the property and Turenne as a place to visit. We had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday there.

Location très agréable

Belle demeure très agréable à vivre, très bien équipée, très confortable. Bien située pour les visites alentour. Par contre, nous aimerions récupérer notre caution rapidement, même si nous avons été informés que ce serait un peu long, nous trouvons le délai excessif! Merci de prendre en compte notre remarque.

Un très beau gîte, très bien équipé , plein de charme et de caractère, situé dans un magnifique village médiéval. Région environnante à la croisée de plusieurs départements riches par leurs musés, les occupations proposées, leurs curiosités, leurs spécialités culinaires et la quantités de magnifiques villages à l'architecture remarquable.

Famille avec 2 enfants de 6 et 10 ans Maison très confortable et niveau d'équipement remarquable. Turenne est un superbe village, animé le jour, calme le soir. Sa localisation est idéale pour rayonner sur la région et les activités proposées : randonnées et balades, visites de grottes et de villages, etc... Mini castle!!

The house pretty much exactly as the pictures showed, the garden was a little smaller than we expected but I think that was because some of the pictures were pre the hot tub and some after. The house itself was brilliant and had everything you could possible want and absolutely oozed character but with all the mod cons needed for a comfortable stay. The location was quiet and peaceful and parking was simple we parked in the car park across the street and there was always plenty of spaces. You will not be disappointed if you choose this house for your holiday we had a fabulous time.

Maison très chaleureuse dans un village magnifique !!

Karen et David sont accueillant, disponible et vraiment sympathique. Leur maison est bien située, chaleureuse, très équipée et le jacuzzi est un vrai plus. Beaucoup d’activités à plus ou moins 20mn de la maison. Le village est à couper le souffle !! Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances au top. Encore merci à Karen et David de nous avoir loués leur maison.

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine de vacances (du 4 au 11 août 2018) dans cette très agréable maison. La maison est très confortable, élégamment meublée, spacieuse et a énormément de charme. Le petit jardin sans vis à vis a permis à nos trois petits enfants (1, 4 et 6 ans) de jouer en toute sécurité sous notre surveillance. Un soin tout particulier a été apporté à la literie, au linge de maison, aux ustensiles de cuisine, neufs et de très bonne qualité ce qui est rarissime dans une location et a grandement contribué à rendre notre séjour des plus agréables. La région s'est révélée adaptée et offre des activités en plein air pour des jeunes enfants (découverte de villages, gouffre, plan d'eau, parc aqualudique, accrobranche) à quelques kilomètres de Turenne. Bref, nous avons passé une excellente semaine, un peu hors du temps, dans cette très agréable localisation.

Perfekter Familienurlaub im eigenen Schloss

Wir verbrachten eine Woche im romantischen, stilvollen Haus im mittelalterlichen Städtchen Turenne. Es hat uns und unseren drei kleinen Kindern bestens gefallen. Obwohl es stilvolle Holzmöbel, Glasvasen etc. hatte, ging nichts zu Bruch. Der Jacuzzi mit Blick auf den Hauseigenen Turm und die Dächer der Umgebung, der kleine Garten und die geschmackvolle Einrichtung sind prima. Charmante Küche mit viel Einrichtung und Induktionsherd. Wir kommen gerne wieder, obwohl unser VW Sharan nicht wirklich durch die Pforte und auf den Parkplatz passt (im Mai war der öffentliche Parkplatz 50m vor dem Haus immer leer). Der kleine Laden hat keine grosse Auswahl und nicht die besten Croissants (aber gute Croissants sind selbst in Frankreich eher selten...). Grüsse, Barbara & Patrick

Why they chose this property

Being frequent travellers to this region for over 20 years, we have enjoyed peaceful surroundings and beautiful countryside, alongside great food and wine. Being two very busy professional people we found the area a tonic to daily life. So finding this gem of a property was just a dream come true. Situated in a medieval village which has character, charm and culture with stunning views from the now ruined chateau at its summit. The Tower nestles at the entrance to the village where on level ground it is easily accessible to local amenities such as the shop, pharmacy and of course the local bar! With Le Bistrot restaurant & Pizzeria close by in the village square. We have now rented this house for holidays for over 7 years and we are happy to share this with like minded travellers. The house being a comfortable home offers space to entertain with all the necessary tools for a holiday and a great base to explore the area or just recline in the pretty garden or relax in the Spa Pool with a glass of something.... The area has great villages of charm such as Collonge la Rouge with its red stone houses and cafe restaurants, make sure to try Le Cantou for one of their legendary omelettes. There is pretty Meysac with its Wednesday & Friday markets or explore the local prehistoric caves. Most villages have Night Markets in July & August where you can buy local produce and cook it on the communal BBQ whilst sampling local wine! For activities, the Dordonge is only half an hour away for swimming, canoeing or cruises on the river. Either way there is something for everyone!

What makes this property unique

The house features a secluded garden with terrace for alfresco dining, sun loungers to relax during the day and a Spa Pool to cool off. A large salon with comfortable seating and dining area, with a fully equipped kitchen. The ancient tower leads you up to the 2 bedrooms sympathetically restored to give a modern and comfortable living accommodation, retaining character of the original building. Offering comfortable beds and bedding with a hairdryer in each room. The shower room is spacious with twin sinks and storage, heated towel rail and soft fluffy towels, with a separate WC and washing machine. Spa pool available for use during the summer, but additional charges for electricity will apply out of season, September to the end of June these are €20 per day to be paid in cash and this will be collected during your stay. The spa pool is free to use in July & August.
