About this property

Country Cottage With Fantastic Views Over The Derwent Valley, Derbyshire Dales

We've just two September weekends left for you to enjoy the Matlock Bath Illuminations - featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent. Both Saturdays and Sundays have themed nights and there's also entertainment including stilt walkers.

Beautiful 5/6 bedroomed cottage in Matlock Bath in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District. Perfect for family get togethers, University reunions, anniversary celebrations, hen weekends and even well behaved stag weekends. The accommodation is fully equipped with everything needed for 15 people to enjoy a weekend to remember with Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, free unlimited WiFi, good mobile phone signal, Sky TV with Sky Cinema, Amazon Fire stick plus over 80 DVDs as well as a huge stock of games, puzzles, books & toys for guests of all ages from toddler to grandparent.

NEW FOR 2024 – Full sized retro cocktail table arcade games machine – play all your favourite games including Pacman, Space Invaders and many more.

The cottage is within 5 minutes walk of a wide range of local facilities including pubs, restaurants and attractions as well as good access to a range of public transport links to Derby, Chesterfield, Sheffield and Manchester.

On the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, the cottage is in the perfect location for discovering dozens of local attractions including Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall as well as the UK's most popular theme park, Alton Towers (45 minutes by car); the historically important Derwent Valley Mills where Sir Richard Arkwright started the Industrial Revolution an much, much more.

In the winter you can relax by the cosy wood-burning stove in the living area whilst watching Sky TV (including Sky Cinema) or using the Firestick to access your own Netflix account. In the summer you can take in the sun lazing in the garden and on the patio with BBQ, garden furniture and games.

Take a stroll down into the village where there are so many things to do including a visit to the aquarium, a cable car ride up to the Heights of Abraham, a 9 hole indoor crazy golf, a riverside walk along the Derwent where you can hire rowing boats by the hour.

There is parking for up to four standard sized cars at the cottage, please be aware that the lane up to the cottage is quite steep and narrow. For those guests who prefer not to drive up the lane there is free on-street parking on the lower road which is just a one minute walk away from the cottage.

The location of the cottage and the natural terrain in Matlock Bath makes the property unsuitable for the less mobile. Please ask for further details if you have a particular question.

The cottage was absolutely fantastic. Great location in regards being close to all amenities. Quaint characteristics but plenty of space for a large group. The cottage was really high spec and very cean. I would definitely recommend to others, lots to do in Matlock Bath, Abraham Hieghts is a must and great restaurants nearby. It was really easy to organise our trip, Jackie was really helpful and thought of every little touch, including welcome refreshments for us on our arrival. If you are planning a group trip to Matlock Bath I would definitely suggrst Crow Pie Cottage.

Brillant stay at this lovely cottage
Lovely cottage, very clean and very well-kitted out, great for children lots of games, spacious, great garden. Great location, we planned to drive out of Matlock Bath for activities, but spent the whole weekend in and around the cottage instead. We could eat and drink more in the evening guilt free after burning calories walking up the short but steep hill. We had a fun University reunion over the weekend we were there, I will recommend this cottage to friends and family.

Fantastic cottage, lovely views
Fantastic cottage with lovely views of Matlock and the surrounding countryside. Well set up for large groups with kids, who loved playing in the garden. Good size lounge and great kitchen diner meant everyone could sit down to eat together.
