An old fisherman's shed, this one bedroom cottage is right on the edge of Portwrinkle Beach. Inside there is one double bedroom with fitted cupboards, a bathroom with combined bath and shower, and then an open plan living room, kitchen/diner that has a large window looking out over the sea. There's a small garden with picnic table and parking space alongside, then a bench at the front gives guests somewhere to sit and watch the sun set over the water.

The Rocket cottage was everything we’d hoped for ! Fantastic location looking out over the sea, good access to the beach below which is dog friendly, what more could we ask for. The cottage was peaceful, cosy and warm, internet connection a little weak in places but we managed. The bed was comfortable and having access to a washer dryer was a bonus. Portwrinkle is a beautiful spot to explore northern Cornwall and we would definitely recommend The Rocket cottage as a place to stay, we loved it !
Property is exactly as it says - stunning location and perfect bolthole for long weekend with plenty of amazing places to visit. When there was an issue with the heating there was someone out within an hour to sort it. Look forward to going back
We had a lovely few days away with our dog. Added bonus was the small harbour which allowed for fishing and family swims ( us and the dog together!) .. perfect to be able to walk back up to the house in a towel robe fir a nice hot bath! Accommodation had everything we needed and was as comfortable , the bed was very comfy. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for an escape away.. we had some lovely dog walks, a super Sunday roast in the local pub and lots of fresh air!
This is our third stay at the Rocket House and yet another enjoyable stay. Just two suggestions, but in no way complaints. Maybe invest in a freesat plus box and perhaps sort out the bench and rope fence to the front of the house as it is looking a bit tired. Everything else is perfect and we will stay again.
Such a lovely location. Loved the beach and walks nearby. Cottage comfortable but it would have been helpful to have a folder of instructions especially for the washing machine/dryer and the heating as well as recycling. Also would be nice to have some local recommendations. I think for the cost of the cottage these little personal touches would add to the experience as would some milk in the fridge on arrival. Steve the property manager was fab sorting out our satellite issue with the TV on our first day.
A very nice cottage with good facilities. Unfortunately, there were no staple foods such as sugar, flour ... and spices. The windows could be cleaner and the bench in front of the house was broken and not usable. Nevertheless, the cottage is highly recommended.
First holiday in 5 years and it exceeded our expectations. We were blown away by the views from The Rocket House and fell in love with the location. Hearing the waves from the large windows was bliss! The locals and other holiday makers were some of, if not the most, friendliest people we have met. We felt like we were in our own little bit of paradise.
There was everything we needed at the property, very clean, bright, open and the perfect size for the two of us and our labrador. We rarely find anywhere we would return to but we will definitely be returning here! Great coastal walks from the doorstep and access to secluded beaches. A perfect base for the weekend

I found The Rocket house online, the size and location were perfect. I am happy to say it was just as I had hoped, just right for a couple and pet pooch. The beach is literally across the road and a great place to relax. I sat many times having a brew with the windows open listening to the sea. The parking space makes it even better. We stayed the first week of September and it was pretty quiet. People do use the area opposite as a drop off and pick up for the beach and of course some are quite ignorant and rude. We are hoping to stay there again next year all being well. A fantastic holiday destination.
Even though we were down in Cornwall just on business we still managed to have a stroll on the beach which is literally on the doorstep. The cottage we found to be very cosy and warm with plenty of appliances, didn’t lack for anything, apart from you could do with larger towels though ( and that’s not because we’re fat )
We were very fortunate with the weather for late October, but unfortunately unable to sit on the bench at the front as it was broken. We would’ve given you a 5 for cleanliness but on first impression on arrival, we saw the broken bench, overgrown lawn with several large patches of weeds. Definitely a great place to stay if you like walking, surfing or generally being by the sea. Loved it.
We've just arrived home after a long week-end staying at the Rocket House. What a fantastic position - it's right across the road from the beach - although the beach is grit not sand but there are many many rock pools to explore or just walk and enjoy the roar of the sea. The house is very clean, has everything to hand in the kitchen and the bed was so comfortable plus there is ample storage so it's so easy to keep tidy, The owners have even left several board games for you to take advantage of should you require five minutes relaxation. Unfortunately at this time of the year you take a chance with the weather but it certainly didn't stop us from taking our walks. This property is a little gem and I hope we will be able to return here again in the Spring. Would definitely recommend this lovely property.
The view of the coastline blew us away as we turned down the road to Portwrinkle.
If you like rugged views with amazing beaches in a quiet village this place is for you! We loved watching the sea and to hear the waves 24/7 was amazing.
The property had everything we needed and was well equipped including a dishwasher, decent internet speed and smart TV. Phone signal is poor but we switched on Wi-Fi calling and this worked perfectly.
Slightly disappointed that the garden bench at the front of the property wasn’t usable as was falling to pieces and was mentioned in a review over 6 months ago. The standard of cleaning wasn’t brilliant either and the bed was rock hard.
The above points don’t detract from a 5 star review and it’s a wonderful place to stay

comfortable in a slightly desolate setting
Avoid Plymouth and Loue. Be aware that right there at the cottage there is no phone coverage. You have to drive to the top of the hill above the hotel and try different spots. Do not attempt that drive near or "on the hour" as it is a long one lane road and a huge red bus hurtles down. Do not take the google maps shortcut, only come down from the top of the hill above the hotel. Then just keep going till you see it. Make doubly sure you receive the code for entry well before arriving - you may have to ask for it and you cannot once you get there. Hope this helps and good luck.
We have stayed in this property many times before but it never fails to impress us. It is very comfortable and the location is wonderful. We love it in Portwrinkle. It is such a lovely quiet place. It’s wonderful to see the sea from the window and the beach is just two minutes away. Love to go beach cleaning in the mornings! Hopefully we will go back again early next year. Thank you Tremayne.
Once you stay here you will never want to leave… cottage was beautiful and tranquil and more than what we had expected. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Great location for exploring or just watching the sunsets. Will definitely be back!
Cottage was better than expected , had everything we needed. Spotless and airy. Dog Beach 5 minutes away so wonderful . More fancy beaches only 25 minutes away. Great cottage to relax after a day of exploring 🙏
