Perfect in every way

From booking to stay the communication with Louise was first class. The cottage was clean, well kitted out and welcome pack was a lovely touch including the personalised card. Location is first class as we had lots of activities planned in Alnwick. Really nice to dump the car and walk everywhere. Delighted we finally got to celebrate special birthdays after covid. Thanks Louise and team.

Lovely cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Falstaff cottage. It was exceptionally clean and had extra little touches such as home made cake which was delicious and local gin. It is perfectly situated to walk to the castle and gardens and just a short drive to the beach, we loved Warkworth the most. Would definitely recommend.

Great House and Location

This is a great house to stay at while in Alnwick. The self check-in was very easy, and the house was lovely. Louise also adds several personal touches (almond cake, beers/tea, milk, flowers, etc). It is a very easy walk, maybe 5 minutes if you are a slow walker, into the center of town. The beds were very soft and comfortable, and the duvets were amazing. Only slight issue would be the hot water. We never really had a "hot" shower, warmish, but not hot. It's an old building, so it's understandable. Louise is an exceptional host. She sends tons of info of things to do around the area, and is very quick and responsive. Overall, a great stay, and would definitely consider staying here when we return to Alnwick.

sorry all round

the rain was a deciding factor that made us leave early along with the quirky winding staircase that made us promise ourselves we`ll have a ground floor acc. next time with no stairs, we are well in our eighties and disabled which we should have factored in but again we came home a day early and didnt accomplish a single visit to the Gardens due to the weather...

Lovely cottage, central location and warm welcome

Falstaff House is a fantastic cottage with all mod cons in the centre of Alnwick within walking distance of all of the sights. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and has everything you need for your stay including a lovely selection of local food and drink to welcome you. We would definitely return!

Totally a home from home....didn’t want to come home!

From the beginning of our correspondence with Louise, any question was answered quickly and thoroughly. Her communication is so reassuring. On entering Falstaff House we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and some beautiful fresh flowers.... and lots of other treats. The house is centrally based so its easy to get around on foot to see what Alnwick has to offer. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed too..... and two bathrooms! What luxury. There is a small courtyard too to sit out and watch the stars. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Louise’s home is clean, warm and welcoming. We will be back. Thank you 🌸

A beautiful, home from home cottage

The owners of the property had quite literally thought of everything the visitors might need. It could not be faulted at all. There were flowers in the house, goodies to eat on arrival, lots of local information to hand, it was just perfect- and I mean that!

Beautiful & well appointed with lots of individual touches

Great location, convenient yet quiet, warm, thoughtfully furnished and equipped. Good lighting, sumptious main bedroom and lots of helpful provisions and information. Plenty of tea & coffee, a welcome cake, prosecco and non alcoholic sparkly drinks, a pint of milk. First stay in Northumbria and thoroughly loved it..

Five stars all round!

Can’t praise this place enough. It is immaculately decorated and presented, well-equipped, cosy yet spacious enough for 4 adults and is in a great location handy for Alnwick town centre. The photos don’t do it enough justice. Definitely recommend and definitely would love to return, if it’s ever available! Thanks to Louise and to the lovely cleaning lady we met as we were leaving on our last morning.

Beautiful property

This is a really lovely warm and cosy property in a great location - just 3 minutes walk from the town centre. Beautifully decorated with everything you need. Louise the owner was great, keeping in touch and sending lots af great information on things to do and places to eat. There is so much to do in this and the surrounding area, it is well worth a visit.

Cosy cottage with ideal location

The cottage made an ideal base for exploring NE northumberland and was a short walk from shops and attractions. There was free parking on the street outside the cottage and a charming courtyard equipped with table and chairs gives the possibility of al fresco dining in warmer months. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated and had all we needed - a real home from home.

Absolutely Fantastic!

Falstaff House is a little gem - absolutely beautifully presented ,spotlessly clean and a real home from home. Lovely personal touches to welcome us. We fell in love with the house and really enjoyed eating in the sunny kitchen and curling up by the fire in the evenings. Alnwick is a perfect location for visiting the stunning local beaches, and we would highly recommend Serenity boat trips from Seahouses to the Farne Islands. We had the most perfect week of weather and cannot wait to return. Thank you Louise for a wonderful holiday.

A stylish and comfortable home from home

Immaculately presented property with quality fixtures and fittings and lots of little details that really made for a fantastic stay. There house has lovely shutters, is light and airy and very chic yet cosy decor. Little notes to help us use some of the facilities and the period features (no nasty laminated signs) were a nice touch and we loved the welcome treats, thank you!! The cottage has ample street parking and is a 5 minute walk to Alnwick and about 10 minutes to the castle. Louise the owner was very helpful throughout and we would highly recommend Falstaff house for a stay in Northumberland.

A lovely cottage in a great market town

This cottage was a lovely revelation. We had rented it so our family could attend a family wedding at Alnwick Gardens, which was only a ten minute walk away, so that worked really well. The cottage is immaculate and the photos don’t really do it justice. It is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It felt like a real home from home. The owner was very helpful too and getting into the cottage and finding out how everything worked was really straightforward. The 2 bathrooms were well equipped and I loved the fact that they didn’t scrimp on toiletries, soap powder, dishwasher tablets etc. I have been caught out by other property owners not being so organised. We are already planning a return visit when we can explore more of the town and the surrounding area and again enjoy all that Falstaff House has to offer.
