The villa is perched on a headland with panoramic views of the Obidos Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The villa is fully equipped and comfortably sleeps 6 adults and up to four children. We do not accept 10 adults. There are three double bedrooms on the ground floor each with sea views. There are two twin bedrooms downstairs where there is a second lounge. The kitchen opens up on to the terrace as does the living / dining room. There are three bathrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs.

The villa is located within a short 5 min walk of the golden sandy beaches of Foz Do Arelho. There you can take a leisurely morning stroll and take coffee at one of many beach café / restaurants. These also serve delicious afternoon lunches and specialise in Fresh fish and sea food and also do freshly made sandwiches, salads, soups etc. to suit all needs. The Lagoon that makes its way several kilometres from the beaches further inland offers a variety of exciting water sports and high-adrenaline activities is just a few minutes walk from the villa.

Caldas da Rainha, the historical thermal city, is a 10 minute drive with hypermarkets and fruit, vegetable and flower markets. The internationally acclaimed 5 star golf courses at Praia del Rey, Bom Successo and Rio Major are a 25 minute drive.

Peniche, the renowned surfing spot is a 20 minute drive. Lisbon is a 50 minute drive. Visit the medieval castle and walled city of Obidos. Wine tours and various visits to neighbouring and historically fascinating towns and villages are recommended. The Marian Shrine of Fatima is less than 45 minutes away.

Changeover day: For July and August it is Saturday. We would prefer a Saturday changeover day at any other time but we are flexible outside of high season. Access is available from 4pm. Earlier arrivals can't be guaranteed. Departures required prior to noon.

Tolles Haus- toller Urlaub

Es war alles super. Das einzige Problem war der Geruch in dem Keller Bad und dem Bad mit Badewanne. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Blick und Lage sind hervorragend. Ausstattung ist ordentlich. Vielen Dank, war eine tolle Woche !!

Our stay at the villa

We overall had a great vacation. Here are our pros and cons for the next travellers: Pros: Great communication with the owner prior to our arrival. Stunning view - best located villa, really quiet neighborhood, spacious and clean. Amazing for a family/group of 10, loved the patio doors of the 3 bedrooms. Cons: The hot water was definitely the lowlight of our stay with us having to constantly go to the not-so-clean mechanic room to manually restart the water boiler tank. The response of the property manager was less than optimal - we were obviously disturbing him when I called and it was “expected” from the guests to run down outside the villa and down the mech room to fix it every time we needed hot water. The foul odour of the 2nd and basement bathrooms was very strong and obviously unpleasant. We decided to not shower in these 2 bathrooms and use them only if needed so we only had 2 bathrooms for our group. The pool water is COLD. I’m a lake swimmer and this pool is definitely colder than all pools and lakes I’ve been in! Would greatly benefit from having it heated given the micro climate of the area.

Lovely villa with stunning views within easy reach of many attractions in the region. Only downside was that the main bathroom had an unpleasant smell which needs addressing.

Als je van rust en uitzicht en niet te heet houdt, moet je hier zijn. Fijn huis en in de omgeving is genoeg te doen. Wij hebben stickers genomen; leuk!

Wonderfull Villa with stunning view

The Villa is beautiful and has an awesome view. It has enough space for two families and is really quiet. The beach is near, but we used the car because its too stewp to walk with bags and parasol. With the car its a 2min ride and parking wasn’t a problem. It has an alarm system which we started by acident. Unfortunately we had no idea how to turn it of. Would have wished to know that theres a alarm system and how to turn it off. Other than that, everything was really nice. Would definitely come again.

Beautiful house and location

Great house for two families, four adults and five children (6-12). We had a fantastic week with lots of activities in the area around and relaxation at the house. The children got to try surfing and loved it. Beach short walk from the house. The house was spacious and light, good size bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice and quiet area. Fantastic view from the house!! Highly recommend this place. Very friendly property manager that responded quickly.

Amazing Views & Excellent Location

The property is nestled on a hill top which provided excellent views of the ocean and the lagoon. We had a few issues when we first arrived but was immediately resolved within 24 hours. Being on a hill, it was difficult for my older parents to walk to the beach but we were able to find parking along the street closer to the beach. Bedrooms are spacious and plenty of room for 3 couples and my 2 children. Breathtaking views. Excellent spot for families with children.

Lovely villa with stunning views

We were an adult family of 8 plus a young baby, and had a wonderful week at this villa. The town of Foz do Arelho is very pretty, particularly the beach area, and has lots of really good bars and restaurants run by friendly and helpful people. Yes, the walk up the hill back to the villa is challenging but the views from the villa are stunning, and as it’s 100m above sea level you can’t really have that without the hills! The villa itself is spacious and very well equipped, and has everything you need including a few thoughtful and appreciated little extras such as UK power adaptors. The owner, Goretti, is really helpful and responds very quickly to requests and questions, and Viktor, who looks after things locally, was very helpful and responsive when we had a couple of minor issues. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful views

This property has the most stunning views of the sea! It occupies the best spot in the whole of Foz. It is very spacious and was spotlessly clean on arrival, and is a great base to explore the area. There are a couple of things that stopped us giving it a 5 star review. There is a problem with damp in the villa, which is solved by the use of dehumidifiers, these have to be kept on 24/7 and some are quite noisy. The sofa in the living room has been repaired using black gaffer tape and looks a little tatty. The pictures of the living area downstairs show a cream corner sofa, this is no longer there and has been replaced by 3 bean bag chairs which are not comfortable. All in all we had a lovely break in this villa.

une superbe expérience

La maison est simplement incroyable ! Les photos sont très fideles. Nous avons passé une superbe semaine et nous remercions Goretti qui partage cette maison aux vacanciers de passage ! L'environnement est très calme, la vue est spectaculaire et c est un émerveillement chaque matin d'ouvrir les volets ! Nous étions 2 familles, avec pls enfants (4 adultes / 5 enfants 1 bébé). La maison est très bien équipée et dispose de tt le necessaire pour un grand groupe. Le nb de salle de bain est vraiment appréciable, chacun est autonome. L'accès à l'océan peut se faire à pieds, la montée est rude est faisable. les restaurants et bar de plage sont très agréables. Nous sommes restés 1 semaines mais aurions pu y rester plus ! Merci !

Greatest view ever!

Besides the perfect house, the view on the Ocean is the most amazing we have ever seen. Waking up with the sound of the breaking waves is so relaxing! The beach (with good live guards) is big as are the waves. For small children you can go to the lake at the other side of the beach. There are some great restaurants very close by for tapas or fresh sea food at the sea front or in the village. You can walk to the beach or Foz do Arelho, but way back is steep. Parking at the beach is no problem, as long as you get there before 2. We had a lovely holiday, thanks!

Fantastic place to spend your holidays

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious and was very clean, and the view!! Well it was Amazing! We all felt truly at home. Thanks to the scenery and the calm surroundings we were able to relax and take advantage of what the location had to offer.

Amazing

We had a great week in the Villa. The view is breathtaking, the house is spacious, clean and fully equipped. If, like us, you cannot handle the heat well, Foz de Arelho is the perfect holiday destination. The temperature is always pleasant, so you can undertake activities without being bothered by the heat. Communication with the owner was always very good too. He is friendly and answers quickly and clearly. I have already visited many homes via Homeaway and this home is in my top 3.

excellent holliday villa

The villa provides a lot of space and offers a very nice view on the bay/beach. Nice pool and outside deck. The boulevard on the beach has a few restaurants and cafes. The surroundings are perfect for water sports and their are many sail/kite schools in the neighborhood. All and all a very good place to enjoy your holliday Oh and don't forget to visted Obidos 15 min drive.

Fantastic view

We (two families) stayed 2 weeks in October and had a really great time. The Villa is very well equipped, comfortable with loads of space. You need a car to discover the nice places around like Obidos, Peniche and Nazare. Big Supermarkets are in Caldas da Rainha however Foz has a good baker and butcher and as well some very good restaurants. Allover, we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the time.

The house is truly amazing! Gorgeous views and very well equipped.

Overall we had a fantastic stay, upon arrival the house smelled of humidity, but this is the case in every house so close to the Atlantic ( we have been coming to this region for 20 years, so we do know) After airing for a few hours we had no problems at all. We had a few cloudy days but thanks to the floorheating we were very comfortable. The house is very well provided and the views are AMAZING!!!!! My family and my friends will most definately return!

Great holiday villa with the best views!

Lovely Villa! We stayed in Foz Do Alerho with our Family (6 adults, 3 small kids) for one week in the beginning of July. Our stay was really nice and the villa is located probably on the best spot of Foz Do Alerho hill. Great views to see the sunset and enjoy the majestic Atlantic ocean from the terrace. You can also walk down to beach where you can find some restaurants, enjoy the sun or surf. The Villa was nice, big, clean and has everything you need for a good holiday. Bedrooms are nice and big even though in the basement bedrooms it can get little damp. The pool is big enough to cool down after a long day and the terrase is perfect to enjoy dinner right out from your own barbecue. I would recommend to have a car because it makes it so much easier to go to visit surrounding areas. The Obidos village around the bay is nice with narrow streets and local small shops. Peniche has some great beaches and for beginner surfers it is a good spot. You should also visit Nazare which is about 20 km north from Foz Do Alerho. Foz Do Alerho is nice and quite village with not too much happening so if you looking for place to party this may not the right place for you but for a relaxing family holiday it is super. The owner was really nice and helped us when ever we needed help. Highly recommend this Villa!

Great Villa

We enjoyed our stay at this villa. It was generally clean and comfortable with loads of space for a large family or group of friends. The weather wasn’t great the week we were there so we didn’t make good use of the outside areas. But there’s a small swimming pool, a good gas BBQ and plenty of seating and loungers for dining and relaxing outside. The villa occupies a high spot above the village and has tremendous views of the ocean and Óbidos Lagoon. Should be great for a sunset, if it’s sunny! Plenty of decent restaurants in the old village and beachfront area. All within walking distance, although the climb back up the hill may be too steep for some. Finally, Goretti, the owner was great to deal with and quick to respond.
