NHS /friends away time exploring walking tails- Thors Cave and more. The Barn is a Gem and worth the stay... Everything you need is there for a quiet getaway or celebration. Comfortable, spacious, and cozy.
We all had a blast, and never laughed so much. This is just what we needed to reset.
Thank you :)
Had a great time here, lots of space, well maintained and all facilities present, easy off street parking, places to sit and chat inside and out, just missing a hot tub, lol. Far enough away from anywhere, but still has a choice of pubs with very friendly locals and a corner shop for anything you have forgotten. Easy reach of alton towers.
Plenty of sleeping space, and the quiet location were ideal. Beds were comfy, I would have preferred as larger double as i am used to that at home and the room was quite light even though there were some blinds in addition to the curtains. Karen was happy for us adjust the heating to suit and the real fire in the lounge was lovely for the warmth and ambience.
I would happily return to another stay if the occasion arose, though we might just have to make it so.
Property was more spacious than the photos give it justice. Kitchen was amply stocked and instructions left by owner very helpful. Great for our family group and dogs. Garden isn't big but weather wasn't great so we didn't get a chance to enjoy. So close to Alton Towers as well. Ample walks close by for dog walking.
We are a group of old friends who get together every year and we need ensuit bedrooms, a nice big dinning table, a good well equiped kitchen (with plenty of fridge space), pubs near by and plenty of interesting walking from the door. Meadow Place barn has it all and more. We had a great break and were very comfortable. We don't think the photos do it justice. We will hopefully be back.
We were 4 couples away for a long weekend and found the place perfect for our needs. It was very well equipped and the lounge area was just fantastic but the large TV & DVD player went untouched. The kitchen appeared small at first but in fact was more than enough for the 8 of us. There are other parts of the country we want to see first but we are looking forward to another stay at some point in the future.
Living Area on the 1st Flor and is very spacious. . It has avery complete Inventory including infant feeding bowls, High Chair, Travel Cot and many toys. Beware the low beam in the Mezzaning room as we had 3 people crack thei head inclkuding our 80 year old grandfather. The Host was notified and she said wshe would put up a warning notice
Bedrooms all on Ground floor and have ensuite Bath/shower Hot water was readily available. We had to supply our own towesl although hand towels were avaible in all ensuite bathrooms.
Our Granddaughters had much to do Climbing, with instructors, Go Karting, Walking & of course Alton Towers which was very close whih all younger members of Family enjoyed.
The village has a well stocked Mini Supermarket and a wonderfull Butcher who does excellent BBQ packs, Three pubs with good pub food
The whole family had a very enjoyable stay including our 1year old Grandson
Thanks Karen
.
The barn is perfect for family/friends as you all get your own room and bathroom, saves a lot of hassle sharing. Beautiful barn conversion, plenty of space for big groups and a perfect location for everything. Would not hesitate in returning or recommending.
We stayed here as we were going to Alton Towers for 2 days, it is an excellent location for this as it is around 15-20mins away.
We absolutely loved the barn and it was a perfect fit for us (9 in total).
Karen was an excellent host and came to check how we were shortly after we arrived.
I ashamed to say that we didn't get enough time to fully explore the local area. We will definitely be back and will allow more time to explore.
This is such a great place. We were two families so having separate bedroom and bathroom areas (all en-suite) really worked well. It was really peaceful, gardens great to have a BBQ in. There was no shortage of utensils etc, and the living room was very spacious. If anything the photos do not do the place justice. Highly recommended.
Beautiful house and Supurb location. Some lovely walks straight from the door, and my 3 year old loved having tractors come past the house several times a day and hearing the cows and sheep from the garden.
My friends and I hired this property for our annual Christmas getaway and it was perfect for what we needed. The accommodation is very clean and homely, comfortably fitting 8 of us in the living room and around the dining table. I would highly recommend this property to groups wanting a relaxing break.
We were a group of 8 staying for Christmas week. Karen met us upon arrival and showed us the facilities including heating setup and log/coal store. The barn was beautifully decorated in advance and the place was well stocked throughout. And we loved the high ceilings, open fire, gallery landing and double height entrance hall. The place was perfectly sized for us and we went for a number of walks into Ipstones and beyond. There were instructions in various places within the property - it might be nice to have these collated into a single welcome pack but we had a wonderful stay. Thanks Karen!!!!
Meadow Place met all our needs as mix of family members with ages ranging from 70+ to 4 years. Plenty of space in the property which was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. There was some confusion about the 'play room/spare bedroom. In the information it clearly states there's a pull out sofa bed but this is not the case. Despite this we managed and all enjoyed the week in this great house and the surrounding countryside and towns.

About the host

Our proerty is a former working farm and we have lived here since 1986. We converted the former barn in 2001 when it was on the edge of dereliction and it has made a superb base form which to enjoy the many attractions offered locally. We have many visitors who return annual to the property.
Why they chose this property
The conversion created an imaginative space which is 'upside-down' . Large open plan areas upstairs make the most of the light and views.
What makes this property unique
Four bedrooms all en-suite. One further bedroom with access to separate WC. Small charming enclosed courtyard garden which benefits from all day sun.
