This property sits at the top of Port Isaac and it’s a perfect location. It has parking, great views, the supermarket is across the road (very handy) and you even get to see Doc Martins surgery and Berts hotel. The property itself was clean very very comfortable the fire place was a bonus and the bed and the lounges were very comfortable. This is especially necessary after walking up and down Port Isaac all day. Everything you need is here and the shower was brilliant. Thank you Nick and Caroline for letting us share you holiday home it’s wonderful.

A great week in a cosy cottage in Doc Martin Country
As a family of 4 we found the cottage a home-away from home ( pardon the pun!). Somewhere where we could relax after a great day out. A cosy fire and all the mod cons. Really comfortable beds and the view across the bay from the terrace to the Docs house is a lovely addition. We loved our week at Kylden and if we are ever back in the UK we will be back!
The home is lovely and located at the top of the village. Beds were great and the hosts do a wonderful job making your stay warm, comfortable and inviting. I would love to return one day and recommend this highly.
Very peaceful location with incredible views from the rear garden patio. Easy access to all amenities including the harbour and Doc Martins. Would visit again for sure.
We had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage, only few minutes to the port and the coast path. It had everything we needed and everything was clean. We felt very at home here.
Everything was fantastic at Kylden and Caroline communicated with us very nicely. We loved that we could meet her family through a photograph and everything they shared in advance was exactly what we discovered when we arrived. Port Isaac was our main objective when visiting England because of Doc Martin and the Fishermen's Friends, and Kylden was a great addition for us. Thank you, Caroline.
Excellent base for a exploring Port Isaac and beyond!
We had a very comfortable stay at this property. Everything we needed, well equipped kitchen and very handy having the co-op opposite. We made the most of the restaurants and cafes in Port Isaac. Meals at the Slipway, The Old School House and The Moat were fantastic and Noah’s cafe is great for a light bite.
We also took a walk to Port Gaverne and had a drink in The Pilchard which was great.
Sadly the weather was not on our side but we managed to still visit Polzeath beach twice and Newquay (45 mins drive).
On day two we had no hot water. However the owners were extremely responsive and helpful and the issue was fixed quickly.
The only thing we feel could be improved in the property is a landline phone for guests to use to book restaurants, golf courses, activities etc and for peace of mind should you need to call 999.
Overall very good accommodation, we would definitely return.
The house was super well equipped and clean. The location was excellent, near to the port but not on top of the hustle and bustle of the tourist. The supermarket was opposite to the house, which is super convenient. The garden had all what we needed a table and chairs to relax in the sun with a good book. We could not ask for anything more! Even the weather was superb!
Highly recommend a stay at Kylden. Perfect in every way. If only I could bring home the view from the garden - could have sat there all week quite happily. Owner a breeze to deal with, everything you need at the property and perfectly situated for visiting Cornwall. We will be back.
We enjoyed our stay at this clean, comfortable and well-appointed cottage with a view of Doc Martin's surgery. The location was excellent, being above the old town and across from the coop. Communication with the owner was excellent. We would definitely recommend staying at Kylden, especially for a couple and/or a family of 4.
Absolutely 💯 fantastic time. The cottage was clean and looked just like the on line booking. Felt like a home away from home. The bottle of wine and chocolates were a very nice surprise. Would definitely come back and stay..Sherry and Dave Chandler...ONT. CANADA
This property is exceptional. The property itself is extremely well placed, right opposite the local Co-Op shop and very near the heart of Port Isaac. Being placed on New Road the drive to the property is so easy, no having to manoeuvre through the very narrow streets avoiding the pedestrians, and very easy when leaving Port Isaac for your various trips out.
The property is extremely well kitted out will any appliances that may be needed for your stay, It it spacious and very comfortable. The contact from the owners is extremely good. I would definitely recommend thes property to anybody looking for a stay in Port Isaac.
Our stay in Kylden was simply perfect. It gave us everything we could have wanted and more!
Once I found the cottage and finding our preferred dates were available the booking couldn't have been easier. The contact with Caroline and Nick was very quick and friendly. Will definitely look forward to staying in Kylden again!
We made a last minute decision to spend a week in Cornwall with our 16 month old son. At the time of booking, our accommodation options were limited but honestly, this property is a little gem and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Yes it is a little tired around the edges but it was very clean and we felt comfortable straight away. A real home from home.
The owners were extremely responsive and provided a high chair and travel cot.
Port Isaac is a pretty little village and this property is well positioned at the top of the hill with fabulous views.
This was our second stay at the ideally placed bungalow in Port Isaac where we again found home from home comforts- especially the newly replaced mattresses in the 2nd bedroom! It's nice to know that owners listen to feedback- thank you Nick and Caroline.
Very comfortable, clean, cosy place to stay. Had everything we needed. Lovely sun terrace with beautiful views. Good to be able to park in the driveway. We stayed for two weeks in April and had a lovely time.
We stayed at the property for a week, it had everything we needed including a Co-op directly opposite which was great. A very comfortable place to stay and the owners were extremely helpful.
Port Isaac is beautiful and we could get to everywhere we wanted to go easily. Polzeath beach made a lovely day out.
Would highly recommend!
Beautiful accommodation fantastic view of Doc Martins house! Co-op opposite which became invaluable as unfortunately of the 8 weeks we stayed Port Isaac was closed for 3 weeks. Did not ruin our holiday as lots of place to visit within easy reach of Port Isaac
Beautiful Bungalow, in the perfect place to get amenities and plenty of walks. Very child friendly bungalow inside we felt was so safe for our little boy.
We had a wonderful trip to Port Isaac staying at this bungalow. The weather was amazing for mid October so the outside space came into its own. Everything you could want in the property. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Beautifully presented property in perfect location with all amenities on your doorstep. The south facing sun deck was fab.

About the host

We bought Kylden when our kids were small. We wanted outdoor space big enough for them to run around and easy parking when we had a car full of stuff to take to the beach. We also wanted to be walkable to pubs, restaurants and shops to make our time in Cornwall as relaxing as possible. We holiday here ourselves several times each year and have continued to improve the property and features as we have all got older! We hope you enjoy our home from home.
Why they chose this property
Why our cottage? Because it is well maintained and we continue to invest in it. Parking for 2 cars. Beautiful back garden and terrace with views to the hills across the village. Home of Doc Martin and Fishermen's Friends. Home comforts including dishwasher and washer dryer, Nespresso coffee, TV/Xbox 360 with games and DVD's. Any questions not answered on the site just ask!
What makes this property unique
Beautiful views across Port Isaac from the back garden. Space to park up to 2 cars (a rare treat in the village). And of course the home of Doc Martin and the Fishermens Friends.
