Included in accomodation downstairs is a utility room, shower/WC, sitting room with open fire and Sky TV Channels, unlimited broadband, large hall with wood burner, double bedroom. Upstairs are 3 further bedrooms - 1 double and 2 twins, an ensuite shower in the double bedroom. The kitchen leads to a well sheltered west facing external patio with granite cut table and seating perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. Local village life can be experienced a short distance away (c. 5 mins walk) with local grocer, 2 pubs with traditional live music, and church.Beautiful sandy beaches are within easy reach with the sheltered sandy beach of Clogga Bay only a 35 min drive and the scenic Ballymoney Beach approx. 45 min drive..

Although initially difficult to find Hollow Lodge once we had it was beautiful. Plenty of room and very comfortable. Sitting on the edge of the Wicklow mountains the scenery is stunning

short trip
A beautiful and homely stay and the host was easy to get hold of when needed and gave a quick response. However we didn't realise we would be paying extra for the gas and electric and also we had to clean any plates and cups before using.

Lovely Character Cottage
We had a very nice stay at Hollow Lodge. The downstairs bedroom was very convenient for our elderly parents, and there was plenty of space for all of us (six in total). We had an enjoyable week, with (mostly) great weather, and I wish we could have stayed longer. Aoife was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Quirky cottage
Charming quirky character cottage in remote rural area. We found the tiny en-suite a bit of a challenge and it was a shame the bathroom didn’t have a shower as we were sharing with friends, rather than family. A few things in the kitchen need an upgrade (fridge and cooker) but was fine as we mainly ate out. Lovely grounds and ideal for our exploration of the area. Thank you Aoife.

Restorative Rural Escape
We had a wonderful time staying at Aoife’s cottage in Wicklow. The children loved visiting the sheep each day and playing in the fields. Visits and walks at Glendalough, Altamont Gardens, Ducketts Grove, Russborough House, Greystones and Dublin for day trips. It was the very holiday we needed post Covid. Thank you to Aoife for all. We had a delightful time. xx

Charming large cottage in a quiet location
Hello Aoife and John We spent a wonderful week in the house. Thanks a lot for this. The land, the environment and the people were amazing. It was even more beautiful than expected. We made some trips for example to Kilkenny, Dublin and also to Glendalough. The house is ideal for such day trips, beautiful centrally located in the countryside but not so far away that nothing was accessible. The house itself is lovingly furnished and invites you to simply relax. It really has everything you need for a relaxing holiday for 8 people. For all ages there is something for everyone. We are already planning the next vacation! Sincerely, Family Brackelmann

Aaaand relax!
Previously described as 'quirky' Hollow Lodge is indeed unique sitting at the end of a drive so well away from the road which is very quiet anyway. Deceptively spacious and really well laid out with 4 bedrooms and three washrooms, huge, yes, huge kitchen, and two sitting spaces. Well equipped including a washing machine and dishwasher, lots of crockery etc. Outside there's loads of space in an interesting garden, a paddock and orchard(delicious plums!). Plenty of parking. Heating and electricity are extra as stated so be prepared, we spent about €35 for the week with no heating used which we feel is very reasonable as there were six of us. The house was very clean on arrival, linen and towels scrupulously laundered. Aoife, our host, was very contactable and responsive, thank you. Minor plumbing issue sorted the same day. Knockananna has a pub, a shop with fuel, a lot of history and a great GAA club. Easy access to Wicklow area, Dublin about 90 minutes, as is Kilkenny. We drove indirectly from Rosslare stopping at several lovely towns on the way, don't rush, enjoy the drive. Very very easy booking via VRBO.

Lovely cottage out in the country but within easy walking distance to a shop and pubs. Great for a chilled week away. Little ones loved exploring and playing in the extensive garden.

Great escape and relaxation
The property was even nicer than the pictures and so much space in and out. Aoife was great to deal with, very friendly. We are two friends with six kids between us and we wanted somewhere not too far from home, but away from it all.. I recommend a visit to Tinahely Farm , the kids loved it as did we. Unfortunately we didn’t get to the local pub but it looked lovely, we opted for evenings in the garden which was gorgeous and a little sun trap. The local playground was closed off and it looks like it could be getting an upgrade so we didn’t get to bring the kids to it. This is a great spot for visiting lots of areas in Wicklow and we were lucky to have a full week of sunshine ☀️

Quiet and lovely location close to Wicklow Way
Very nice property on outskirts of a quiet village. If you love the country and walking this is a great place to stay. Shops and pubs in village and larger shops within easy driving distance. Short walk from part of the Wicklow Way so great for walkers. Property feels like home and is very spacious.

Fabulous holiday home
Wonderful house on 16 acres. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere with many quaint features. 10 mins walk to Knockananna town with its store and two nice pubs. Lots to see in surrounding area with plenty of walks. House has v. noisy waterpump which woke us up during every night which should be fixed asap. Overall the house was great. Thank you Aoife.

Enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our stay at Hollow lodge. It's an ideal place to stay as an extended family with lots of room so you're not feeling too crowded. The children [9yrs & 6yrs] loved the garden. The landlord at the local 'Wagon wheel' was very friendly & welcoming. The village shop was very good too, well stocked & also friendly. It was handy having the local playpark in the village. We visited lots of places, all within easy reach. Wicklow gaol, Greenam maze, Pirates cove for Adventure golf & bumper boats at Courtown Harbour followed by a visit to the seal sanctuary there. Ballymoney beach. Kilkenny, Dublin zoo [excellent], Dublin. The chocolate Garden, where the girls made a chocolate cat & maze of Ireland, which was great fun at Rathwood. Powerscourt gardens were beautiful, Powerscourt waterfall had a good picnic sight. Wherever we went people were very friendly & the staff at all the attractions wanted you to enjoy yourself. A great holiday!

Wonderful property in a beautiful location.
We had a wonderful stay at Hollow Lodge. The properties layout makes it perfect for families, with it's large kitchen and the central lounge with its wood burning stove. And yet the house also feels intimate, peaceful and welcoming. Set in beautiful gardens, amongst the surrounding rolling hills and also reasonably close to local towns, amenities and to the coast, it was a good base for our holiday. The shop in the village( a 5 minute walk away) sells most things you might expect/need and the staff are very friendly (there are also larger supermarkets a few miles away) For families with smaller children the village also has a good playground. Aoife, the owner of the property was very helpful. I would highly recommend this property

Beautiful and peaceful!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hollow Lodge! The house had everything that we needed for a truly wonderful trip and I would definitely recommend Hollow Lodge for anyone looking for a rental property. We had no issues at all throughout the entire process. The owners are also very helpful with any questions you might have.

Fantastic for a family holiday!
Hollow Lodge was probably the best place we stayed in so far! We stayd there with two families (4 adults, 4 children). It´s spacious (much larger inside than it looks from the outside!), the kitchen is fantastic, the property beatiful...the kids especially loved the table tennis set-up in the barn! The only thing a bit hard to find was firewood, but the fireplace in the living rooms worked like a dream! Highly recommended!

Ideal family cottage in fantasic surroundings
We have just spent a week there with our four children 14,13,12 and 7 and it is as described, the cottage is perfect for families the owners are really friendly and helpful and the scenery is beautiful, i would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. If you are thinking of staying here I would recommend you have a car because most of the activities we did paintballing, horse riding, shooting and archery were quite a few miles away but don't let that put you off because some of the car journeys led us to other little towns and villages that are well worth a look.
