Fantastic birthday weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great hosting, we felt very at home. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We used a local private chef (French chef at home) and Indulge Deli Bar for catering - both fab.

Wonderful stay!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Belinda's property. We were a group of 20 that included my 90 yr old Grandmother, 2 10 month old babies, and everything in between. Organising that many people was a task in itself and Belinda was so helpful and accommodating. She answered all of our bizarrely particular questions promptly, and was forthcoming in helping me figure out how to make all members of our group happy. The house itself was well equipped, with dreamy, comfortable beds, lovely soft linens and plenty of pillows. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater to a party of our size, although we ate most meals in the beautiful garden while the younger members of our group played tennis! There is a pub a short walk away, supermarkets a 15 minute drive and the lovelg town of Rippon only a little further. So all in all, ideally located. Check in was smooth, Belinda welcomed us personally, and even stopped by at check out to make sure we were happy. Barolin Farm is truly a peaceful, homely retreat and we are already looking at booking christmas here, although I'm sure it will be booked up for years to come!

New Year Family Gathering
This was an charming older style property with lots of space to spread out across different rooms downstairs with a dining room and drawing room large enough for the whole group to fit comfortably. Although it was January the accommodation was nice and warm and the open fire was a great focal point. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all different but comfortable and the well equipped kitchen and breakfast room was another great space for getting together. Belinda was very helpful and welcoming and we all had a great time.

Fabulous Family Weekend
We had a lovely stay at Belindas home. There were 17 of us ranging from age 7 to 85 and 2 dogs. We catered ourselves and found everything we needed for a pie and chip supper on the first night and a huge buffet on the second. All of the rooms were nice and spacious with nice bathrooms. The enclosed garden was excellent for the dogs too. The property is right next to the Yorkshire Riding Centre which the Belinda was lovely and explained where everything was that we needed. On our last day we left and went straight to the Yorkshire Hussars pub in the village just 5 minutes away for a fabulous Sunday lunch to round off our weekend. Overall a great stay in a lovely location.

An amazing family get together in a wonderful house.
Barolin House, during our few days there was a wonderful place full of joy, love and laughter. Fifteen family members were able to spend some time together, and the house made the most wonderful setting. Big enough for all of us to have space, without getting in each others way, with all the home comforts that every member of the family needed, it was brilliant. Every bedroom is individual, there was a wonderful fireplace in the sitting room, and the kitchen was truly the heart of the home for the week. Our dog was also in heaven with plenty of garden to sniff around! Close to some wonderful local sites too - we spent a gorgeous day at nearby Fountains Abbey. We would happily go back to Barolin for another visit, and we were all sad to leave such a wonderful house.

Home from home
We're a multi generational family - parents in their 80's, 6 kids, grandkids and great grandkids. The house was ideal for us. The living room and real fire were homely and comfortable, the snug was a great place for the great grandkids to hang out and the kitchen was never out of use. The outdoor space was spectacular and the closeness to Harrogate an added bonus.

Warmth, welcome and a great week.
After lockdown we were all in need of a break out of city life. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation. The welcome we received was first class, even the kids commented on how nice Belinda was. She was very helpful and available if we needed anything although there was nothing that we needed apart from directions on how to navigate through the countryside. Everybody we met were extremely friendly and helpful. Made some of us crave the country lifestyle. ❤️ Definitely recommend this accommodation you will feel like your coming from home to home. We look forward to going back again one day. Thanks Belinda.

A charming and spacious holiday home
My entire family just spent Christmas week together at this charming old house. We really appreciated the spaciousness and location and had a wonderful week all together. There were Christmas decorations downstairs, which gave the house a homely feel and really made it feel like a home from home. Finding the house on the first evening was a little tricky as the postcode led us up a mud path! The best thing to do is just head to the Yorkshire Riding Centre with which the house shares a long drive. We did have a few hiccups with the boiler, however on both occasions Belinda was immediately on hand and the problem was sorted out quickly. However we all really enjoyed our stay at Barolin Farm and we will certainly be back again, though perhaps in the summer time so that we can enjoy the gardens and amazing countryside!

Perfect for a large family weekend
The communication with Belinda was fantastic -she was always quick to reply to any queries and was there to greet us and show us around when we arrived. The place is gorgeous and far bigger than we imagined. We are a big family of 18, 9 of which are kids, and there was more than enough room for everyone. The garden was also a fantastic space woth plenty of room for the kids to play and a lovely area for a bbq in the warmer weather. We didn't want for anything while we were there.

Family birthday celebration
We enjoyed a fantastic family weekend. The house was lovely with plenty of room to enjoy time together or find a quiet space if needed. Had beautiful weather and made the most of spending time in the garden and using the tennis court. Mainly well equipped but could do with a few frying pans for cooking breakfast!

Golf weekend centered on Barolin
Twenty golfers used Barolin as a base for three Yorkshire golf courses . Superb house with two ( one substantial ) lounges which made socialising fantastic . Comfortable bedrooms on the house and fabulous AGA kitchen , again great for socialising . Only issue was with regards to the outside cabins which were basic , one being unheated which was tough for first night which a portable heater helped for the second night . Overall a fantastic stay in the main and would highly recommend the house

We hired a hot tub no bother and all questions were replied to fast and efficiently from Belinda. Would definitely recommend and I’d definitely go back! Thank you for a fantastic weekend!

Family stay for our daughter's wedding
Beautifully spacious & well-equipped property in which 14 of us staying there, never felt on top of each other. Big bedrooms with all being en-suite is a real bonus. Outdoor gardens, bbq & tennis court were an absolute asset especially with the beautiful weather we enjoyed. Belinda Bartle was an excellent & very attentive host. Highly recommended.

Barolin Farm is the family home in which I grew up. I am the youngest of the Bartle family, renowned for their fame and success in the horse world. It adjoins the Yorkshire Riding Centre, which my mother founded in 1962. We enjoyed a wonderful and eccentric childhood here, wondering about the extensive grounds and riding constantly. Guests at Barolin Farm, are welcome to visit the horses and watch lessons taking place. Now my two daughters have grown up and fled the nest, and after a very successful stay at new years by a group of friends, we have now decided to make it available for groups to rent out. We receive plaudits for it's unique charm, comfort and suitability.

Why they chose this property

Barolin Farm was originally part of the Wilberforce estate built in the late 18th century, and it is very much a country house set in beautiful Yorkshire countryside between Harrogate and Ripon.

It is in a great situation for a rural retreat, surrounded by rolling Yorkshire countryside, half a mile outside the sleepy village of Markington.
Its perfectly located for access to Yorkshire's most popular tourist destinations; two miles from the great heritage site Fountains Abbey and six miles from Newby Hall.

What makes this property unique

Barolin Farm has 8 spacious bedrooms, sleeping 17 all en suite.
The large farmhouse kitchen with an Aga is very much the heart of the house.
Adjoining the kitchen is a snug area with solid fuel stove.
The large drawing room with log fire and the dining room make entertaining in this house a real occasion.

So there is plenty of room for large groups and all generations to enjoy.

The one acre walled garden on the South side of the house and the courtyard on the North provides ample traffic free safe space for children to let off steam.
There is also a tennis court to play in.
