Reunion of school friends
A perfect couple of days in a wonderful location, in a cosy, fully equipped cottage. We can't say enough about the cottage, it's spectacular garden and the biggest hot tub/ pool I've seen. Clare, and her lovely, dog are wonderful hosts, thank you for our visit, and delicious cake!

Just perfect!!
We absolutely loved our stay here!! We arrived to tea, coffee, milk, cake and prosecco and it just kept getting better. The kitchen was fully stocked beyond expectations and the house was lovely all around. The log burner was ready to go along with the outside firepit if we wanted it. The hot tub pool was amazing, could fit 6-8 people easily. The gym was great with a steam room and shower room with towels. The location was quiet and rural but 8 mins from Brecon town. We cannot wait to go back.

Amazing ‘home from home’
What a welcome from Clare! A delicious home made cake and everything you could possibly need is there, unlike some properties where you have to take the kitchen sink. The spa pool, wow! The photo’s do not do it justice, it’s huge and such a lovely treat after a day walking. We stayed the end of May but it was cold in the evenings (good old British weather)so we made full use of the log burner on an evening after a dip in the spa pool. The steam room and gym are also fantastic. The location is wonderful too. Only thing we couldn’t control was the weather but even that couldn’t spoil what was a fabulous few days away because this place really is ‘home from home’, cosy and just brilliant. Thank you Clare, you made us feel so welcome.

Peaceful and relaxing place to stay and the best home made lemon drizzle cake.
We stayed here from 11th to 18th June 2016. We had a lovely warm welcome from Clare and Andy when we arrived. Tea coffee sugar and milk and Clare's home made lemon drizzle cake greeted us in the kitchen. There is a spa pool which is great to slip into after our walks. There is a gym and a steam room which has a fridge and a freezer so you don't have far to go to get your nice cold drinks and plenty of towels so you don't need to pack your own. Also there is a shower and toilet. All the rooms had there own themes. It was lovely and peaceful here, just listening to the birds. We enjoyed our chats with Clare and Andy when we saw them. Everyone has there own ideas of what they want when they are on holiday. We actually had a more relaxing and enjoyable time here than we had in Cape Verde back in March. We don't normally go back to the same place twice as a rule but we will be back as we have still got places and people to see. We had such a great time we didn't really want to leave. Clare and Andy are great.

charming home
had the pleasure of staying at a charming home nestled near to Brecon Beacons, Wales, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience. The location itself was nothing short of stunning, with breathtaking scenery and numerous sights to explore in the surrounding area. However, what truly made this stay exceptional was the gracious host. From the moment I arrived, the host went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and enjoyment. A warm and inviting welcome awaited me, complete with a delicious homemade cake and a bottle of champagne – the perfect way to start my stay. This thoughtful gesture immediately set the tone for the entire visit. Throughout my time there, the host was incredibly accommodating, always ready with helpful tips on local attractions and activities. The home itself was a cozy and comfortable haven, providing everything I needed for a relaxing retreat. It was impeccably clean and thoughtfully appointed, with all the amenities one could desire. Whether I was enjoying a quiet evening by the fireplace or savouring a cup of tea while gazing out at the stunning views, I felt truly at home. In summary, my stay in Brecon Beacons was a memorable one, thanks in large part to the exceptional hospitality of the host. I would wholeheartedly recommend this charming home to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating escape

Wonderful location for bikers
We arrived early and be greeted by Clare who welcomed us and have us a full run down on the property.... wow was our first impression! The house had everything you need for a comfortable break and the pool and gym were amazing, just wish we’d have had a bit longer to make use of it.... maybe next time! We explored the area which is beautiful and also visited Bike Park Wales which is only about 30 minutes drive away .... well worth a visit if you like MTB (you will need to book). The pool was such a welcoming site after a hard days riding .... we spent hours in it ! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and also the delicious lemon drizzle cake yummm! Well certainly be back !!

Clare was excellent before and during our stay. Despite living right next door she and her husband gave us total privacy. The cottage was lovely, with more space than we expected. The full gym and enormous hot-tub were absolutely fantastic.

The property was exactly as described. Clare was very helpful and responsive but also respected our privacy - a perfect host! The welcome treats were both a nice touch and useful. The house is a great base for exploring the Brecons and we did some fantastic walks. Thank you Clare, we look forward to returning at some point.

Great place to explore the delights of the Brecon Beacons
Just off a main road, close to Brecon, with Pen y Fan nearby, this is an ideal location from which to explore the Beacons. The house is comfortable with good kitchen, three bedrooms, lounge and separate dining room and downstairs loo. The hot tub, gym and space to eat alfresco are the special qualities for this property. The views of the hills are breathtaking, particularly from two of the bedrooms. Clare, the owner, was friendly and helpful, and swift to respond to enquiries. We had a very enjoyable holiday, finding it a good base and a relaxing place to which to return at the end of the day.

A lovely home from home for a short family getaway
We had a lovely 2-night early Spring break at this property. We wanted for nothing - the welcome pack of groceries (and cake!) was comprehensive, there were towels galore - even in the gym for use in the steam room - there was plenty of fuel for my wife to enjoy making a fire, and the accommodation was lovely. My daughter particularly enjoyed the hot tub, even though the air temperature didn't get above 8 degrees! We're already working out when we might return! Thank you to Clare and family for making us so welcome.

Amazing location and a great cottage
When we arrived we were quite overwhelmed with the size of the pool/hot tub, and gym and steam room, far more than we expected. We were lucky on one night to have a clear sky and enjoy the stars from the hot tub with a G&T. The cottage is homely, clean, and has all things you require to enjoy your stay. BBQ is excellent. Clare and Andy were very accommodating, and couldn’t help enough when required, but never intruded. Great folks and the plaque in the utility “enter as strangers, leave as friends” says it all. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, great family experience, will definitely visit again in the future.

Good location for exploring the Brecon Beacons
The cottage is in a good location for exploring the Brecon Beacons.Really enjoyed relaxing in front of the woodburner. Disappointed to find the second bathroom in the property was very small and didn't have a wash hand basin, also the main bathroom was a bit chilly as the window was drafty. and the basin plug didn't work. Clare made an lovely cake to welcome us and has made the cottage very homely.

A great place for a little time out!
Excellent place to stay, star watching from the hub tub helped us relax for a little girly getaway. Only 15minutes from Brecon. Not light pollution meant that the stars on a clear night didn’t disappoint. Thank you to Claire for her warm welcome and great hospitality. We will see you again.

Fantastic stay!
We knew when we were greeted with a lovely homemade lemon drizzle cake that it would be a great stay - and we weren't disappointed! The cottage is situated in a great location being a stones throw from the a470 and close to a town for all the must have holiday amenities (like wine!). Our 5 year old found the hot tub the best thing of the whole holiday so much so that he wants one at home! We also managed to make use of the gym on a few occasions which was an added bonus.Overall we found the cottage really well presented and comfortable and Clare was on hand for any queries and was really super helpful 10/10!!

About the host

Hosted by Clare Graham

Host profile image
I have extensive and international training in the hotel and catering industry and am particular about what I would like to have when I stay away. We try very hard to achieve this for our guests and have made our properties comfortable, clean and homely, to meet your every need when on holiday.

Why they chose this property

Brecon is a friendly rural area but within the hour we can be in Cardiff it is incredibly peaceful and we have thoroughly enjoyed living here for over 30 years.
We are 7 minutes from Pen-y-Fan the highest peak in South Wales and minutes from the waterfall walks .
After a days activity it is perfect to flop into the pool and enjoy our night sky .
We have night sky accreditation and are very proud of this .

What makes this property unique

The semi detached cottage is a great place to base yourself and allows our guests to explore the area ,then come home to a swim in the heated pool or warm fire from the wood burner .

The house is large enough to accommodate an entire family but small enough to retain its country charm with a log fire and very comfy seating area in the living room.

The heated pool is fantastic for children, families and couples alike. The views and spectacular and we cannot recommend the fresh air and our dark skies enough!
