Great location
This house is spot on with everything you would need. You couldnt ask for a better location with it been just down from the market square. Jill the owner is lovely and is very easy to contact if you have any concerns. Defo staying here again.

Great house and perfect location!
We had to book on short notice, but Jill was very receptive and helpful. We stayed 3 nights and left the car parked out front while we walked everywhere. Keswick is great. Jill recommended the Cat Bells hike and we loved it! (One thing for renters to note is that there are no basic food items like sugar, oil, salt in the cupboards so bring everything you need.)

Perfect weekend with friends
Stayed here for a university reunion weekend. 10 people plus one baby. The house was perfect for us spacious, well equipped very clean and warm and in an ideal location right in the centre of Keswick. The dining room and table where we ate on the first evening were both good sizes and we had a great evening playing the games provided and even lit the real fire. The vanity units in the bedrooms and bathroom and shower room and separate toilet was well organized and convenient for a large group. We enjoyed some lovely walks and didn't even have to move the car. I parked my car, a vauxhall astra, in the house's parking space at the rear it is a bit of a tight squeeze. The others managed to find parking in the road. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Very nice house in a great location in Keswick
The house is quite nice and is as pictured. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, however there was not anything at all in terms of ingredients (e.g. cooking oil, salt/pepper, sugar, etc) in the kitchen-- We needed to buy everything at the store. There was also not coffee/tea service, which is a first in my experience in English rentals/B&Bs, etc. No tea or coffee, sugar, milk. A bit odd. Also, check in was a bit stressful. The only notification I received regarding check in came from VRBO, and we were directed to a local property management company to pick up the key. When we arrived there we were told they had nothing to do with the property and had not for some years. Fortunately, I was able to contact the host on the phone to find out how to access the lock box for the key. The host had sent messages to the VRBO message center, but I was not notified that they'd been sent. From there, the host was very helpful and attentive, and hopefully that outdated arrival information will be taken care of. The house is well located just off the high street, which ended up being a bit of a problem because visitors to town during the day liked to park on the street which made parking challenging. The listing says there is off street parking, but the spot is big enough for a motorcycle or a tiny, tiny car. Pubs, restaurants, and grocery stores are all very close by. The house is comfortable, the hot water and heat work well, and the beds were nice as well.

Location couldn't be better
This is the perfect location for a visit to Keswick being only seconds from the High Street. It's also one of the only places with free on street parking, as well as one small off-road parking space. Accommodation was well equipped and VERY comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more.

Great Location and Lovely place to stay
Only a couple of minutes flat walk to the centre of Keswick. This was perfect as we had young and older people in our party. Plenty of shops, a lovely park and nice coffee shops only minutes away for those not climbing mountains. For those of us who walked cat bells on the Saturday morning only minutes to the lake and the boat across to the starting point. House was a good size and comfortable rooms for dining and sitting downstairs. Nice patio and seating for afternoon sun The owner Jill was always available if required and very helpful

Perfectly located comfortable house for a family break in Keswick
Nothing really to complain about, this was a spacious and comfortable house for a long weekend stay with family and friends. It's only 2 minutes walk from the centre of town, and is also conveniently close to supermarkets and take-aways. Parking can be a little challenging, but we have stayed in several houses and B&Bs in Keswick and this is no worse than others, you just have to accept that you can't always park outside the door, but you can usually find a space somewhere in the street. House was lovely and warm, the heating was very efficient. The kitchen was well equipped - we've got used to bringing a few things with us to rented houses, like large pans, baking trays and a decent sharp cooks knife, but didn't need to this time. Also nice to find ample crockery and cutlery and not needing to wash up up after every meal. The wi-fi also worked well, again not something we have found in all holiday homes. The only thing lacking is a coat rack or some hooks in the hallway.

Very impressive property that had all of the facilities that it advertised
The property was very close to Keswick town centre which made it easier for parking up and getting around without the added burden of parking facilities. The property itself was extremely comfortable for 8 people staying in it, with the rooms being large and roomy.

A large, yet cosy house - close to the centre of the gently bustling town of Keswick.
We parked on the road - which was easier than navigating the tight space round the back with our new car. The house had a homely feel - very welcoming and lived-in; it's decour in keeping with the historic town. A great place for a large group to spend time chatting around the dining room table after vigorous hill walks and relaxing lake cruises. Thoughtfully - an additional shower and toilet added - to avoid queues. The only minor issues were with the cleanliness - perhaps a more keen eye would have noticed the cobwebs and the dishwasher failure. Also - the departure time could have been clearer and more prominent on the many notes around the building. The arrival of the cleaners at 9:50 in a Sunday morning when we were expecting to leave at 11am was a little bit of a shock.

Brilliant base in the Lakes
The property stands in the centre of Keswick .Just park up the car for the weekend and set off on a variety of walks to suit all abilities. One of my favourites is to walk around Derwentwater a 12 mile stroll with the opportunity to catch the ferry back should the weather change. Myself and 3 pals enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the amenities on the door step.Look forward to staying again.

What a shame
This house is in a fantastic location, literally at the bottom of the road is the town centre. However other than that it is a tired and unclean property. The owner did carry out some maintenance while we were there and some general cleaning but this did not even scratch the surface. The property needs a good clean and further maintenance carried out. It's such a shame because it could be a lovely house in a wonderful location. The room sizes are all good with reasonable furniture, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped, but just unclean. A great shame as we were looking forward to staying in Keswick for the first time.

Reasonable house with a great location
Good points: Big house with lots of space, great dining table for family gatherings, has wifi, comfy beds (if rather small), two tvs if you need them and a reasonably equipped kitchen. Location is great - next to the high street and still quiet. Not so good points: parking is non-existent (and no, the house does NOT have parking in the rear yard, unless your family arrives on one motorbike). Seems clean so long as you don't look too hard (cobwebs on ceilings and don't put your hand down the side of the sofa...oh, and stale milk in bottom of the fridge - talking of fridges, there are two, but one has no shelves to speak of) - and very steep stairs, especially to the top floor. If you can get past the not so good bits, it is a great place to be.

Keswick Group Stay
Cottage is excellent for a group stay, lovely large rooms and plenty of communal space. The location cannot be faulted, just off the centre so quiet enough on an evening but 2 minute walk to shops and bars. Fantastic value and special mention for the owner whom answered any questions, keeps a good clean property and is genuinely freindly. 10 out of 10!

Wonderful birthday celebration weekend with family
We had a really lovely long weekend celebrating my husband's birthday with our family. The house was perfect for us. It was very spacious and enabled everyone to have their own space when they wanted it but also we enjoyed sitting together, around the dining table to enjoy a celebratory meal and also to play some of the great games that were in the house. The house was very very clean and well equipped and had everything to make us comfortable. One of the bedrooms had two easy chairs and a coffee table which was very useful for my son and his wife and their baby. The house was perfectly located for us, just off the high street. This meant that while some went for walks others were able to explore the town and the Lake and everyone had a great time. The choice of bars and restaurants were brilliant and just round the corner. We parked our car in the parking space, other family members managed to find parking in the street outside, and we never moved our cars as everything was on our doorstep. We intend to to make this an annual event and would definitely recommend.

Great location but not a parking spot
The location for this house is wonderful. It's in the center of Keswick and it's easy to walk to pubs, restaurants or a grocery store. The house is older which means both charm and all the typical old house problems. The stairs in particular were difficult for both my young sons and my elderly mother. The kitchen is newly renovated but nothing else is. I would like the owners to stop advertising this house as having a parking spot. So would their neighbors. I know because we talked. If you have to exit a medium size car through the trunk, the space is not big enough to be a spot. There is street parking and while it's pretty full we were able to get a spot on the street every time so it's manageable. Paying for the house was not a problem. I used the bank transfers and had no issue. Pick up and drop off of the key was very easy. I would recommend parking at the house and walking over to get the key since there is no parking by the office. Over all it was an adequate rental experience.

We love the Lake District and Keswick in particular. The stunning beauty of the area is very very special. We have visited many places in the world but the Lake District is somewhere we have wanted to return to time and time again. The scenery is stunning, we have enjoyed exploring various walks and have progressed in difficulty in our walks starting with Latrigg, then Walla Crag and then last weekend we walked up Catbells. The views were breathtaking and we had a fantastic day despite falling in a puddle on the way down! We bought this house in December 2013 and spent the next 3 months refurbishing it. We are really pleased with the result and so are the guests who have visited the house to date. We hope that you will visit and enjoy both the house and the area as much as we do.
