Great location
We enjoyed our week in this lovely cottage. The communal areas are spacious and well equipped. It has a large enclosed garden for dogs. It is very well located in Burnham Market, which is a good village to stay in with a range of good shops and restaurants.

Great place and location
The property was a pleasure to stay in with a high level of cleanliness and supplies. Even though we stayed in Norfolk when it was cold and rainy the property offered a cosy place to return to after a wet walk in Holkham Park! I would recommend this place for a family (and dog!).

Great Stay in Great Location
Beaver’s Cottage is a really spacious, comfortable property set in the heart of the most up-market and well-positioned village in N.W. Norfolk. We just enjoyed our first 1 week stay there and will certainly return. A special position in a special part of this country.

Great cottage
This was a great property in a great location. The cottage had everything you would need and the walled garden was great for our dogs. Beaver cottage was large enough for our family of five and two dogs, the owner was nice enough to leave a bottle of Prosecco and some cookies. Great pubs in the village and only 10 ministers from Holkham beach. Will definitely be back.

Relaxing getaway
The property was lovely with a big garden and in a brilliant position. The only thing i would say that it could do with more wardrobe/draw space in the bedrooms especially in the main bedroom and needs shelving in en-suite.

Perfect week at Beaver cottage
The house is in a great position, just a short stroll into the village. Three good size bedrooms and nice bathrooms. The house was lovely and warm. The owner very communicative and helpful. Some good tips on places to eat and where to go. Burnham Market is a great place to stay. Lots of nice shops, pubs and restaurants but also close to the beautiful Norfolk Beaches. Would definitely stay again.

Break away for R&R
Lovely traditional cottage with lots of room. All amenities close to lovely places to visit. Great village. Although the cottage was clean it could benefit from a deeper clean, and redecoration in places. Visited Holkham Hall Gardens which was lovely as we could take our dog. Sandringham was lovely but we could only walk in the woodlands atound the estate as no dogs eere allowed in the Gardens there unfortunately. Holkham beach was lovely walk but our favourite was Brancaster beach, so beautiful and clean. Holt was a lovely town to visit with lots of independent shops and very dog friendly. We had a meal at the Nelson's Arms in Burnham market, it has recently reopened and was friendly but not such a lot of food choices. The Hoste in the village was good but expensive. Our favourite was The Lord Nelson in Burnham Thorpe, with friendly staff, fab food and great atmosphere.

Burnham Market Relaxing Retreat
This elegant property is perfectly situated to enjoy the delights of NW Norfolk including the Broads and Burnham Market itself. The property is so comfortable with open planned living and a beautiful walled garden. The village has lovely independent shops, excellent pubs & restaurants as do the nearby villages. The beaches have miles of golden/white sand & the sky is so big. The sunsets are just amazing. Unfortunately our dog sustained an injury on day 2(good local vet) so we were very limited to what we could do on this visit but we still enjoyed being here. There was excellent communication with Tom the host before and during our stay.

Great stay at Burnham Market
Happy to recommend Beaver Cottage; great property with large garden, dog friendly and in a superb location. The property is well presented, lovely flint stone hallway, open plan downstairs with open fire, plenty of seating and light accommodation, large dining table and well equipped kitchen and downstairs toilet. Upstairs the owners have made full use of available space with 3 good sized bedrooms, a large bathroom and new en-suite shower room in main double bedroom. The rear garden is large and very secure for dogs. Parking is designated immediately adjacent to the front door and can facilitate two cars. The walk into the village green is two minutes, amazing beach walks five minutes in a car and lots of choice too, the coastal dog friendly walks from Holkham, Burnham Overy, Wells are spectacular and inland Holt is lovely and Sandringham half an hour away. Burnham Market is lovely, the Tuscan Farm coffee / Deli is the best by far, great tasting coffee, meat and cheese Italian Platter and lovely cakes, only small café, but perfectly relaxing. Also, the fresh fish shop staff are very friendly and will make you up selections prepared for dinner and don’t miss the plentiful deli above, fresh bread and pastries. Artisan shops mixed with a few high street names, Joules, Jack Wills and three good pubs too, one across the road from the property, however don’t worry about any noise as the property is very well soundproofed with very thick walls, we never heard any outside noise 10/10

Absolutely wonderful stay!
Where to start and give a review exceptional enough for Beavers Cottage? From beginning to end the owner was generous in communication, flexibility and local information. We arrived at the pristine cottage to wine and chocolates and a really helpful manual. The entrance/mud room has flag stone floors and lots of space for coats and shoes/boots. The kitchen is beautiful with a lovely, large rectangular wooden table and chairs - stove/oven with hood, kettle, french press cafetiere, dishwasher, toaster and all pots, pans and utensils you could need. There is a downstairs loo with sink off the kitchen. The living room is large with two large sofas, two large leather armchairs, a functioning fireplace which was set for our arrival, a TV and wifi router - no problems streaming Amazon and Netflix or just watching terrestrial channels. Both the entrance/mud room and the living room have doors opening onto a gorgeous walled garden. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with single beds, a beautifully finished bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and sink and one bedroom with a double bed and immaculate en-suite toilet/sink/shower. We were visiting from Canada over Christmas and Beavers Cottage was warm, beautifully lit, fully functional, extremely clean and well organised which made our trip superb! Please book this cottage if you want the BEST vacation ever!! Thank you for having us!

Really comfortable enclosed garden and parking a bonus in this village
The village was busy and parking if we hadn't had such a premium cottage with dedicated parking would have been as issue for such a great location central but set back from road and very peaceful 2 minutes to the village shops and close for days out to coast and countryside. Everything we needed was in the cottage , dog friendly and fantastic ensuite shower . Thank-you

The perfect holiday accommodation
A late getaway with a friend and we could not have chosen better, set so conveniently in pretty village of Burnham Market we were able to walk in the morning and evening to the local village shops and eateries. Plenty of easy parking for the larger car and large private garden Nice large open plan kitchen diner fitted with everything you could wish for leading of to a large comfortable lounge and an added bonus of a play area just inside the front door suitable for doggy’s things. Upstairs were three good bedrooms with very comfortable beds and good views one good size bathroom and a very new on suite shower room, what more could you ask for . Very comfy , homey and welcoming would love to return at some time in the future. A big thank you for the very much appreciated bottle of wine and biscuits waiting for us on our arrival , very much enjoyed.

About the host

Host profile image
We refurbished the cottage in 2005 and use it as a holiday cottage for the family. The cottage has been in the family for 20 years.

Why they chose this property

We acquired the cottage in 2005 having visited North Norfolk for the previous 15 years. We particularly love the sandy beaches and variety of pubs in the area.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is situated in the centre of the village with off street parking and a large secure garden.

The cottage has many original features, which we retained when the cottage was refurbished.

We have tried to make the cottage home from home.
