Cornish cottage break
A very enjoyable stay at Jowders in the first week of July. The cottage is perfectly placed set back from the traffic and just a short stroll from the centre/beach. The cottage had character (some of which connected with my head!) and offered a comfortable and relaxing base with a glimpse of St.Michaels mount and sea from the bedroom window. Although the parking space is situated a 1 minute walk away from the property remember that parking is a bonus in Marazion . It is though, as described, accessed down a narrow passage which may be a challenge for an inexperienced driver! Marazion itself is a super place and as a base you can easily access other attractions in the area. Peter the owner was readily contactable and available if needed.

Fabulous well appointed cottage.
Immaculately clean and really well equipped cosy cottage. Car width must be around 1900mm or less in order to access the designated parking area via narrow lane. Other parking available in Marazion.

A lovely and very well placed cottage with every aspect providing a welcoming and comfortable stay.
A lovely welcoming cream tea with fresh flowers and a welcome note from the owners. There is a fabulous view of At. Michael's Mount and the village is very close by yet, due to the location of the cottage, the feeling is of a very peaceful position through a private archway away from the road. We could not offer any negative comments and would gladly return to this cottage if we were coming to Marazion.

Perfect little cottage
Lovely well maintained and beautifully furnished cottage. Welcoming touches i.e. Cream tea, milk and flowers gratefully received. Within easy walking distance of the beach and central to lots of places of interest by car. If you are unable to get your vehicle through the narrow alley to the parking spot (as we were) then there is parking on the beachfront for a small fee. Good communication from Peter & Sally. Would highly recommend this cottage and hope to stay again.

Sweet property in a great location
Sweet property, compact but spacious. Personal touches such as tea milk scones and flowers really appreciated. Generous kitchen living room bathroom and two bedrooms plus parking. I have Peugeot 206 and was easy getting in and out of the car park area. Loved the location a few mins walk from beach and views of st michaels mount. Would love to stay again. Easily Big enough for four people. It was just me and the dog though.

Lovely, comfortable, warm and welcoming
We loved staying here, the little ones loved it too! We kept warm and snug whilst storm Doris howled outside! Great to be off the main road in Marazion and the little front yard was gated and safe. Outside utility area was handy for the buggy and wellingtons.

Beautiful cottage, very clean and cosy, we had a wonderful time!
Jowders is a very cosy, clean and beautiful cottage, we had a most wonderful time! Thanks to Peter and his wife for the warm welcome with flowers and cream tea!! Communication with Peter was quick and very friendly, the cottage is very well equipped and is perfect for a stay with children! It is ideally located in lovely Marazion with easy acces to other sites in Cornwall. The entrance to the parking space is quite narrow, but if you drive slowly it is no problem to enter even with a bigger car - we drive a VW Caddy Maxi - and had no problem entering. We highly recommend Jowders to everybody and we will be back for sure!

The perfect stay in marazion
We stayed in Jowders for 2 weeks with our 2 children aged 4 and 7. We found it to be the perfect place for a stay in the town. It has a dedicated off street parking spot which is priceless in this village, but yet it's close enough to walk to the beach every day, even with small tired children! The cottage is well equipped for both adults and children, and we found our stay here very comfortable. We were happy to stay in and enjoy the home comforts on the 2 days when it was just too rainy for the kids to go to the beach! We cooked lots of nice food in the kitchen and overall we'll be happy to return again in the future. The owners were very helpful at all stages of the process, even posting back something too us which we left behind in error.

Lovely cosy cottage
A nice cosy cottage, just outside the middle of the lovely town of Marazion. The cottage has lots of character and everything you will need for your stay. With a sea view from the upstairs and a pretty garden studio and small outside space. Marazion is lovely, a look around the castle is a must. Mr Craig..Bedfordshire

Adorable cottage / lovely cottage
Jowders is a lovely cottage in one of the most beautiful village in Cornwall. We spent two cosy weeks in winter with our children (14 and 10) , there's everything you can need during your holidays. This is a simple, calm, clean, warm and charming home , close to many interesting attractions ( Peter and Sally gave us a lot of good advices for the visits we can do with our children ). I really recommend it . It was hard to go home after our wonderful stay !

St Michael's Mount view from bedroom
There is only one reason why you should not book Jowders - if you are driving a Van or SUV - you wouldn't make it into the parking. We really cannot find any other reason. Our week was great. Cosy cottage. Everything shipshape. Friendly welcome cream tea and flowers waiting for us on arrival. And I bet there aren't too many places at Marazion where you have a full view on St Michael's Mount from your bed. At Jowders you have.

Quaint and Comfortable
My family and I spent a week at Jowders during this summer holidays this year. We have 2 children aged 10 and 7 and they both loved the cottage. The location is fantastic. 4 minutes to a "secret beach" (which can be found down Leys Lane) and approx. 6 minutes to the main beach and the magnificent St Michaels Mount. The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the rest of this part of Cornwall too. As it comes with parking, it was perfect for us, as we like to get out and explore. The parking space was easily than some we have experienced, with amazing views of the sea! The actual cottage had everything we needed, and I cooked a few evenings. The washing machine was also used. The shower is lovely, and the whole cottage was very comfortable indeed. We all felt truly relaxed at the end of each day, and it was as though the cottage was our "little home from home". When we arrived there were fresh flowers on the kitchen table, and fresh milk in the fridge, as well as a box of cookies for us!. There was a supply of tea, coffee and sugar as well, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The owners of the cottage are very friendly and helpful, and I would love to return to this very special place at another point in time. I couldn't say anything negative about the cottage, it is cosy, comfortable, clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. The courtyard garden is very small, but we did sit and have lunch there one day, as it's quite a sun trap. All in all, great value for money, as such a central location, and really lovely cottage. Thanks so much to the owners for sharing their holiday home with us, and we do hope to return one day!

An idyllic Cornish cottage
Jowders is just full of character and charm; beautifully furnished and very well equipped, it was everything we wanted for a Cornish getaway. In a secluded spot - down a little flower-filled private pedestrian 'alley' - it is located just a couple of minutes' stroll from the heart of Marazion. A great base for walking the coast and for sightseeing - we visited Eden, Lands End, Minack Theatre, St Ives and Mousehole, amongst other places - Marazion itself is lovely, far less 'over-run' than places like Padstow. The owners have ensured the property is really welcoming. It is very well decorated and everything - beds, linens, towels, crockery etc - is of a high standard. All aspects of booking, confirmation, information prior to and on arrival were handled with great efficiency and a friendly, helpful approach. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

About the host

Hosted by Peter and Sally Linton

Host profile image
Peter and Sally welcome you to Marazion (not in person, obviously, that might be creepy) and aim to provide you a relaxing, comfortable holiday home. We don't equip the house with cut-glass and encourage you to treat it as your own home: use everything you find in the cottage, from DVDs and books to beach buckets and don't worry if you break the odd glass.
We live 5 minutes' drive along the coast and are available if you need us but will keep out of your way during your stay.

Why they chose this property

Marazion is an idyllic location. Near Land's End, it benefits from a very mild climate, is just 3 miles from Penzance station, and less than 10 miles from St Ives. There are endless beaches nearby, with many allowing dogs all year. St Michael's Mount is a magical place (you can see it from the bedrooms) that you can walk to at low tide.

What makes this property unique

Parking is at a premium in Cornwall. Jowders has its own, off road parking space (accessed down a short, narrow lane: not suitable for vans; 4x4s will be tight).
