Nice cottage in good location for town and beach but needs some TLC.Paintwork peeling in several rooms ,Towel rail rusty in bathroom,Lacking a microwave in kitchen,Gas Safe certificate out of date by3 months.Several more things but only small faults could be a lovely cottage with more upkeep.
We had a great bank holiday weekend stay in this lovely, clean and well-located cottage. Helen was a wonderful hostess and communicating with her was very easy because she replied almost instantly to everything. The kids loved the cottage too and keep asking when we can go back. I plan to book it again next year! Thanks @Helen.
love it here been a few times before with my family, decided to come back with my boyfriend. absolutely amazing highly recommend. location is amazing so close to the sea. the house is so lovely and Helen was very helpful!!!
Another wonderful stay at the cottage, our third stay here. We counted it was 52 child footsteps to the beach, which is one of the things we love about the cottage. No bumped head this stay on the low ceilings but do feel mattresses could be upgraded as the children’s room beds were a little lumpy. Other than that we would recommend this cottage.
We’ve stayed in Aldeburgh many times, this cottage was perfect for us, enough space, clean and a great location. Communicated with the owner a few times, she responded very quickly and was very flexible too. We would recommend.
The owner was very helpful, my friend and I had a wonderful time. I found that some external cleaning needs to be done but otherwise the interior was immaculate. The front gate, which is difficult to open and, due to wet rot, really needs replacing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and, should the occasion arise, I would be more than happy to return to Charlotte's Cottage
Great property. Very comfortable stay. Fabulous location with everything in walking distance. Visit Two Magpies bakery for breakfast and fish and chip shop just round the corner. Short walk to the Fishers gin distillery for a tour and sampling.
Great location in easy reach to the beach and local shops/restaurants. Cottage very clean and well maintained and larger than you would think from the outside. An excellent break was had and a cottage that we would return to. JB.
Within walking distance of all amenities one road from beach very quiet

Great location. Good bedding. Excellent knives ( very rare). Interesting, good quality art. Loads of hot water. Heating good. The property description was fine but the photos don't show the reality. The property is tired and in need of renovation. There are damp problems, peeling paint, chipped paint, a leaky toilet with sodden floor boards. Loo roll holders that fall off if you breathe heavily. Front door dirty as were some windows - back bedroom in particular. The red settees are greasy with usage. Only one bin when there is a requirement to sort rubbish. No dishwasher tablets. Superficially the house looked clean. Key areas / items had been cleaned but even my husband commented that it was not that clean generally. I cleaned out the bottom of some cupboards before I put items. We had a very good holiday. Aldeburgh and surrounding area very attractive but I would not recommend the property in its current state. Some of the things I have mentioned are easily fixed. Issues like damp are a pain and I guess in a seaside area a perennial problem that can be difficult to fix but it was clear they had been developing for some time. The booking process was very good. I did not respond to some of the pre holidays messages Helen sent as they required a level of skill re technology I have yet to master on our new computer. We did not leave a comment in the visitors book and we do not use Twitter or Facebook etc so we will not be publishing any negative comment just hoping these issues are addressed. Adele Taylor.
We had a week in this lovely cottage a stone's throw away from the sea. There are many great restaurants near by and of course the superb fish and chips.
The cottage is lovely and cosey.
Our second stay here and another wonderful stay. A great location and well equipped cottage. We really like that’s it’s a two minute walk to the beach, easy to pop back to get things and use the facilities.
The only warning for taller persons are the ceilings are low in places, resulting in a few bumped heads! But it didn’t ruin our stay.
A recommended place to stay. We intend to return.
A cosy seaside cottage framed by beautiful hollyhocks, perfect for a family seaside getaway. Set off the Main Street but very near beach, shops and cafes. Fish and chips minutes away!
This was our second new year at the cottage and we were pleased to be back. Perfect location, cosy cottage, what's not to like. We will probably be back again!
Charlotte's Cottage is in a great location in Aldeburgh for the beach, lifeboat station, shops and restaurants, not to mention coastal walks. The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable. We found it to be a perfect place for our short break.
Thank you for letting us stay in your gorgeous cottage. A brilliant base in the centre of Aldeburgh.

Fantastic location, lovely cottage
Lovely cottage which is much more spacious than the front photo implies. The location of the cottage - steps from high street and water front is so convenient for a morning stroll along the beach or a quick trip to Aldeburgh Fish n Chips.

Another wonderful time!
Our third time at Charlotte’s Cottage for a week long holiday and once again we enjoyed the benefits of the house’s location to the beach and high street and also its comfort and well-kitted our kitchen etc. Very cosy on a cold spring evening! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely cottage in a perfect location
We had a week stay over new year here and it was all great. Perfect location, right by the beach but on a quiet road. The kitchen has everything you need, and the house overall was very warm and comfortable. Helen was a very responsive host.

Brilliant location, lovely cottage
We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage, despite shocking rain on one of the days! My five and two year old daughters throughly enjoyed their stay too. The cottage had everything we needed. The cottage is in a brilliant location to explore Aldeburgh and enjoy this wonderful seaside town. We would highly recommend staying at this cottage.

About the host
Hosted by Helen Rogerson
My husband and I live in Suffolk with our three children.
Why they chose this property
Aldeburgh has always been a home from home for me, as my parents owned a holiday cottage around the corner from Charlotte's Cottage as far back as the sixties, and all our summers were spent here.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is ideally located for the beach, high street, tennis courts and sailing club which are all within easy walking distance. It's a great place for children and cycling, and with so many good restaurants, pubs and shops in the town there really is no need to get in the car.
