An absolute gem of a place. Perfect location for everything, Keswick 10 minutes walk and the hills on your doorstep. Perfect.
The property was as described, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. A credit to the host indeed.
We stayed at the property for a week in August. It was spotlessly clean, well appointed with everything you could need. It was so nice being able to walk into Keswick for shops, pubs and food without the hassle of needing to find somewhere to park in town.
There are some nice walks right from the bungalow. We did the Keswick to Threlkeld railway trail that can be easily accessed from the bungalow (go through the ginnels at the back) again saves parking in Keswick. Ideal location for exploring the northern lakes.
Really enjoyed our time staying at the bungalow and would very much recommend it.
Thank you for letting us stay!
Ideal location for visiting Keswick (10 mins walk away. )Great holiday property, was clean & comfortable. Will definitely use again. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay for your visit to Keswick and the Lake District . Just a few minutes walk into the Center of town with the added advantage of a garage for mountain bike storage.
Would book again.
found the Bungalow to be very clean and tidy and in a lovely location, although like many others I don't see any reason for a dishwasher when everyone staying there would benefit from a washing machine in the dishwasher place
Clean, tidy, easy walk into Keswick. Heating worked well and warm showers after a day in the hills were much appreciated. A great base for exploring this part of the lake district!
I saw a few reviews saying that they'd prefer a washing machine to a dishwasher, which I'd agree with as would have been great to wash smelly hiking hear, but far from a deal breaker!
Will definitely consider staying again in future visits to the area and will recommend to friends/ family
Comfortable bungalow outside centre but only short walk to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. We stayed a week so would have preferred a washing machine to the dishwasher but the laundrette in Keswick was fine. Other than that all facilities were fine and any questions we messaged Craig would answer straight away. Shower worth a mention though, this was great, especially after a run over Latrigg..!!
Thanks Craig, we loved our stay here and would come again.
The bungalow was just right for us: two good bedrooms, warm and comfortable, and a great location with good views yet a short walk into town and to the lake.
Had a great week in Keswick made even more enjoyable with staying at this lovely little bungalow. It has all the facilities and space we need as an active family of four. The location is great, being close to Fitz park and the centre of Keswick. Would definitely recommend.
Great place to stay on your holiday in the Lake District
Before I went on my holiday to the Lake District I did read some other peoples reviews. I’m a person who looked through the petty comments and pick out honest sensible persons Reviews. I felt very at home in his lovely little bungalow and at the end I was sad to leave and could quite honestly have taken the bungalow home with me.I like the fact that when I booked the holiday i was asked to reassure the owner that I was a sensible person to rent the property. It made me feel that the man who owns the property cared about the neighbours.I like the fact that when I booked a holiday I had to ask and reassure the owner that I was a sensible person to rent the property. It made me feel that the man who owns the property cared about the neighbours. When I go back to the Lake District again this is the property I will look for first and hope that it still available.
Had a very good time, clean, uncomplicated and well equipped.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Quiet neighborhood, but wouldn’t be my first choice again
This place has positive and negative points. On the plus side:
+quiet neighborhood
+enough space for a family of 4
+walking distance to shops / restaurants / Derwent Water Lake
+owner is pretty quick to respond (except when I asked him about laundry facilities - never did hear from him on that question)
+spacious garden / yard
+decent size kitchen and pretty well equipped (see below about coffee maker)
+electric fireplace in the living room is nice on a chilly evening
+fast wifi
Negatives:
-lack of a watching machine. Never understood why some owners think vacation travelers need a dishwashing machine but not a washing machine. Hey, we’re traveling. Clothes need washed. Dishes can be done by hand (which is exactly what we did).
+the place is getting a bit “tired”. Clean enough, but outdated bathroom sink taps (separate for hot and cold water) and kitchen taps (same, separate for H/C). A few repairs and updates need to be done - I had to “fix” the bathroom tissue paper holder as it kept falling out of the hole (stuffed a piece of paper in to tighten it). Rubbish bin in the bathroom is dented and some rust showing. Shower curtain rail is rusty too.
-curtain rail in one of the bedrooms was broken. To be fair, the owner offered to come fix it right away, but we told him to just wait till we left.
-no proper coffee maker. French pot is okay, but not as nice as a proper maker, or even a cone with filters cup-at-a-time would be.
-dining table location is cramped given that there are two sofas next to it. Guess those could be moved a bit if necessary though.
I saw where someone had left a comment that the sofas seemed dirty. I don’t think they are - I think that’s just the color of the upholstery on them.
Overall, an average place. We typically use VRBO 2 or 3 times a year to rent places from a week to a month or more, so we are not novices at VRBO renting and feel we can speak with some authority and from experience.
Would I recommend it to anyone? I say look at a few options first. For the money (and assuming the owner does a bit of updating, including installing a washing machine) it’s decent value and comfortable enough, but there are likely a number of better places for just a bit more money.
The location of the cottage is lovely with mountain views and proximity to central Keswick.
Generally the bungalow was great. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and the TV was a good size.
A few things that would make the bungalow brilliant are:
• new and bigger settees as the current ones are sagging very badly. It is very squashed for 4 people!
• there should be little bins in each room and the kitchen bin should be bigger.
• maybe having some blinds in the living room would allow privacy for those who wanted it.
Some more good points:
• the owners respond quickly to issues
• parking is good
• the garden is lovely and spacious
• the heating works well
• the dishwasher is fabulous
• generally very comfy
• the welcome pack is a lovely touch
Good location and very quiet, lovely views. Spacious twin room but double a bit of a squeeze. Disappointed with lounge / diner. Furniture in need of update, saggy sofas, grubby seating and stained carpet. Expected better for the price. Apart from that a pleasant stay, thanks. And thanks for the bath mat!
The bungalow had everything we needed in a great location for the town, the convention and for so many things to do in the Lakes. It was very quiet and very well-equipped, and the accommodation was very comfortable. And even the weather was kind to us this year!
Cleanliness did not reach the standard of other houses we have stayed in which was disappointing

Very comfortable property in great location in Keswick, nicely situated within & well ordered.
Ideal accommodation for two ageing walkers, just near enough to town centre for short walk to shops & amenities & well situated to pick up walks to Walla Crag, or the Old railway line connecting to Skiddaw and Blencathra. Owner very accommodating, with quick awnsers to enquires, booking agents professional & helpful. Will re-book this property.

A lovely bungalow in a perfect location
We stayed at the property during October half term 2018, the bungalow has two good sized double/twin rooms with a great kitchen and bathroom. The longe diner was good size with space for four adults if needed. The location was perfect, just 10mins walk from the town centre. The owner was very helpful and the property was presented very well on our arrival, we will certainly be using this property again.

We loved visiting the Lake District as a family and have spent many days climbing the local fells and visiting the local attractions over the years cementing my love for the area. So to look after our own holiday home in the Lakes is a dream come true. Its great to give people the chance to visit this beautiful part of the world!
Why they chose this property
Our family love the area, the north lake is a beautiful area with so much to do. Ferndale is situated in Keswick which we love to visit.
The area is so easy to access from the bungalow with a great choice of walks, Lakes and attractions on hand.
What makes this property unique
The property is well kitted out and cosy benefiting from the views to the Lakeland hills which surround Keswick. The house has plenty of parking, patio and garden space.
