Our stay was amazing, perfect house! So close to the beach!
Nan had the best time and she has requested this house again next year!
Thank you so much! It is a gorgeous house!!!!
The milk and bread on check in was a lovely touch!
Appreciate everything! :)
Generously sized property, well equipped for family stay. Owner was very prompt and helpful phoning us when having difficulty with online software. Lots of nice touches like tea coffee bread and milk for arrival, some seasonings etc available. Well equipped kitchen if you like to spend time cooking. Very short walk to sea front, ideal for small children and elderly dog.
The house is just above the harbor area and very convenient to everything. We came at the end of Sept and had no problem parking along the road. I liked the house, you can see the harbor and ocean out the front windows. The kitchen had plenty of everything for cooking. I would stay here again.
An excellent property for a family holiday a short walk away from Newquay's sandy beaches. 2 minutes downhill, rather slower returning up quite a steep slope! This is West Wales in all its hilly charm.
Superbly equipped for self catering with access to all the cooking kit you could possibly need. Ample, comfortable space for eating and lounging space downstairs. Good beds; everything immaculate.
Generous access provided to beach equipment - chairs, windbreak, crabbing kit etc.
Most reassuring was access to a responsive, helpful owner via a personal email address - not that we needed it!
The only drawback was having just one bathroom (though 2 loos) but we managed perfectly well and had a delightful holiday. Thank you.
Great stay in New Quay for the May half term.
Great location right near the beach and all restaurants/shops etc with amazing views of the sea.
House was nice and spacious with plenty of room for all the family.
Knocking off 1 star for the fact that there was an additional £50 charge for linen and towels which the listing on Vrbo app did not make clear. I’m not sure who would stay in a holiday house for a week and take there own bed linen so would expect this to be provided as standard.
Overall though a nice play to stay and recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay. Spacious & well equipped property. Listing suggested two bathrooms but actually only one, plus outside toilet. Extra pillows were required.
Had a great holiday. The house is central to the village shops, restaurants, pier etc.Plenty of room for our family holiday.Suzanne answered any questions we had promptly. We would definitely book another holiday at this property.
Everything in-house that you required, including games and dvds, for your use.
New Quay is a beautiful sea side town, with dolphin/fishing trips, good pub/ restaurants and plenty of attractions around the area.
Well worth visiting and staying at house.
We booked this holiday last year when it wasn’t clear what challenges we might face with Covid.
It would have been easy for the owner to make up a story to cancel it and get it rebooked at a higher rental; credit to the owner, this never happened and it is a testament to the owner and the quality of the property.
Kids loved it, we loved it. Close to anything the area has to offer.
No complaints at all.
What an amazing property, sea views from all the front windows and from the terrace at the back. We even managed to see dolphins from both the bedroom window and the terrace.
The house was clean, tidy and very well equipped. The added touch of a few essentials so we could have a hot cup of coffee and toast on our arrival were very much appreciated.
We will definitely be returning.
Superb, superb, superb, location could not be better for the harbour village of New Quay, fully equipped sea captains cottage, great patio area to rear with sea views, could see dolphins from here, will be returning,
Our first time staying in New Quay and what a beautiful place and the cherry on top of that is a gorgeous cottage in an amazing location. So close to everything and when in the cottage you dont hear anything and we were there same time as music festival. The property has everything you could need, a real home from home feel. So much space and storage. The utility room is a big bonus for all the beach attire. Beds are very comfy too. And great to have dvds in both lounges for when our daughter wanted yo watch a different film to us. We watched the dolphins from the bedroom windows. We stayed for a week but it felt like a month, because it was such a lovely relaxed way of life and definitely what we needed as a family when life is so hectic with routines and activities. The car was parked in car park at the top of the hill and stayed there until the day we left. We would definitely recommend and want to stay again next year
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful property! The location is perfect, couldn't believe how close we were to the front. The house is cosy and has everything you might need, we will definitely be back!
We had a lovely family holiday in New Quay, the house is spacious, well equipped and moments from everything you could need whether the sun shines or not (luckily it did most of the time). The host communication was excellent and responsive, particularly when we had misunderstood the listing and needed towels provided after arrival, Thankyou!

About the host
Hosted by Suzanne Lowe
My family have been going to New Quay for nearly 30 years and bought 1 High Terrace in 1998. My children have grown up on New Quay holidays. They are now in their twenties and although they have been on holidays all over the world they still love to go to New Quay. 1 High Terrace is therefore a very much loved family holiday home. We love to go there at any time of the year just to get away from it all and relax. It's a safe haven for us all and we have many fond memories of boating trips, regatta races, crabbing competitions and many barbecues on the piers with friends.
Why they chose this property
It is in an ideal location in the heart of the village that avoids all the trekking up hills with tired young children after a day on the beach. It is so close to the beach and we often smile when families walk past our house to start the long steep walks up the hills in New Quay to their homes, with tired grizzly children!
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location! You couldn't get any closer to the beach and all the amenities in any other holiday cottage in New Quay - a blessing with young children.
A side gate provides good access to the house into the utility room meaning you can avoid little people or pets covered in sand from walking sand through the house.
