About this property

Central Cowes Victorian Cottage. Sunny Garden, 2 baths, Ferry Discount STA.

Congratulations! You have found the most loveliest of cottages in Cowes and so central but also providing a haven of a garden, quiet and sunny - including bike stands - and a refurbished interior with such a lovely, happy feel.

I have hosted for over 8 years mainly on other sites and its been very successful! only recently added to Vrbo.

A very successful holiday let cottage for over 7 years, I am a very experienced host with this lovely, homely cottage. Hope you give it a try! I also know the island very well as a resident and can provide ferry discounts Subject To Availability, so do ask me anything about things to do etc that may not be in the House Guide here.

Newly renovated, self-Catering Cowes Cottage with 2 modern bathrooms, a BBQ sunny patio south facing, and garden plus an area to store bikes with bike racks the island is amazing to explore by bike!

Accepts one small pet ie small, well behaved dog for additional £30 per stay. Please inform me of breed and size when booking and you can walk the dog in the nearby park or in the enclosed garden!

Near the Isle of Wight Coast and Cowes Beach if walking and accessible to everywhere with a car or bikes.

This wonderful end-terrace Victorian Isle of Wight coastal cottage, built by one of Queen Victoria and Albert’s Osbourne House builders to commemorate Victoria’s Jubilee, is a 4/5 minute easy walk from the bustling sailing and seaport high street of Cowes on the Isle of Wight and is situated next to the National Cycle Route 23.

Perfect for friends and family looking to explore the island or as a shore base for sailors, whilst being close to one of the islands most popular shopping and dining destinations. 117 Jubilee Cottages has been thoughtfully upgraded to a high standard for your comfort and enjoyment.

The front door opens into the cosy sitting room with comfortable seating and an Alexa activated, Smart TV, which leads through into a dining room with doors opening out into the patio garden. The galley kitchen is well-equipped - plus Smart TV - with everything you should need for your self-catering holiday, but with so many amenities right on your doorstep you may decide to leave your culinary skills at home!

Please note that the stairs in this property to the first floor are quite steep, they are called Cowes Stairs and exist in many of the older cottages built by Queen Victoria's estate.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms sharing a family shower room, with a second flight of stairs leading to a further loft bedroom

The garden provides ample seating and a barbecue area, ready to enjoy the Isle of Wight’s famous microclimate and with a gate onto the side path.. it is an ideal area for cycle storage but ensure they are locked of course. Valuables are left at your own responsibility

Cowes is famous for professional sailing, especially the Cowes Week Regatta and the Round the Island Race, not forgetting its stunning Victorian architecture, boutique shops, specialist nautical shops, vibrant pubs, cafés and restaurants. Enjoy a walk from your cottage along Cowes seafront, passing the Royal Yacht Squadron along Egypt Esplanade via the pebble beach with its fabulous sea view and all the way to Gurnard. There is always some form of spectator yachting activity to be enjoyed which can be extremely exciting during one of the many yachting regattas that Cowes hosts.

If you’re experienced and the Solent calls, there are many rib and yacht hire charter companies, or if you’re a beginner then the UKSA is a perfect place to start your yachting career. This superb Victorian coastal cottage is perfectly located for year round enjoyment.

Fabulous cottage
We had an excellent week in this beautiful cottage. Chantal was a fantastic host- responsive to our questions and with some good local recommendations too! The house is really beautifully kept, and makes the most of its relatively compact size. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was well appointed. No parking outside (exactly as described in the property listing) but I was always able to park on a nearby road within a 1-2 minute walk maximum. (It is a hilly area though so maybe a factor if all guests had mobility issues, but for us it was no bother at all) Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to others. P.S. location is superb for Cowes town centre, with absolutely loads of great restaurants and cafes within a 5 minute walk

Cowes Week Vacation
Our stay at this holiday home was very enjoyable. The location is highly convenient, with a supermarket and a bus stop just a 5-minute walk away. It takes also only 5 minutes to the center with a good restaurants and shops. The house is cozy and clean, providing a comfortable environment. The owner is very friendly and helpful, making our interactions pleasant. Communication was smooth, and we felt well-assisted throughout our stay. The property was just as described and we were very impressed. Communication from Chantal was excellent and everything from gaining access, the property itself and the location could not be faulted. The house was very clean and well appointed, with everything we needed. We would happily recommended this property and Cowes itself for a great stay on the island. Very comfortable stay
This is a really nice, spacious house. Very comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. I also had no problem working remotely with the WiFi. Chantal was very caring and responsive before and throughout our stay. Everything was neatly prepared, really welcoming. And the location is just a short walk from the centre.

Great accommodation in perfect location
We were very impressed with Chantal's property just a 5 minute walk from the High Street in West Cowes; the location was perfect for reaching all parts of the island, which has so much to offer for a variety of tastes. The acommodation was extremely well equipped and there were several thoughtful touches, such as the lovely welcome flowers plus basic supplies to kick-start the holiday! Although there is no parking on site it was not too difficult to find a parking space in various nearby residential streets. As constructive suggestions to improve the visiting experience, the positioning of the TV screen so high up on the wall made it awkward to view comfortably; additionally we felt that the sofa design and size was perhaps not entrely suitable for the room layout; nevertheless, we had a very enjoyable holiday and hope to return. Lovely property
Just returned from a super four night stay in Jubilee Cottage. The house was very clean, comfortable & well furnished. More than spacious enough for our family of 6. The central location in Cowes is great with a 3 minute walk down the road & on to the main high street. There are plenty of great places to eat & shop locally. No parking at the property as the street is in a zone restricted to residents only but always managed to find a space nearby. Communication with Chantal the owner was excellent & the property was exactly as described. Would fully recommend a stay & hope to return ourselves!

Delightful Victorian Cottage - surprisingly spacious and good position
Jubilee Cottage is situated within walking distance from the quaint town of Cowes and the harbour. The cottage is a home from home with everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable, and has recently been refurbished to a high standard. We had some questions prior to our stay and Chantal was extremely helpful in answering them. The beds in the cottage are comfortable and the bathroom facilities very good. There is a good outside space with a barbeque and plenty of chairs. There are plenty of good quality restaurants within walking distance and a choice of stores to buy local produce (you must try Isle of Wight cheese) as well as a Sainsbury's and M&S Simply food. The foot ferry to Southampton is also easily accessible. Osbourne House is always worth a visit in keeping with the Victorian theme! The Isle of Wight is a perfect holiday destination with plenty to do all year round for ALL ages. In practical terms, I would be cautious about staying with toddlers or with anyone who finds stairs difficult, but this is clear in the owners description. We were there on a study break (!) and needed Wi-Fi which was very good. I would absolutely chose to stay in this cottage again and highly recommend. Enjoy your holiday!

A lovely little house
This is a great little house. It has been very well refurbished and is both stylish and comfortable. The location is excellent, with everything you need within easy walking distance. The sunny garden is a great bonus and If you happen to there in late September or early October you will benefit from delicious apples and pears! The house is very well equipped, though a colander and an air tight container for biscuits would help in the kitchen. Also, the stairs are very steep and might be difficult for the infirm. Finding a parking space in the area can be a bit of a game, but there is nothing that can be done about that. All in all, highly recommended

Hi
I am a lover of the sea and sailing, sun and travelling. I have stayed in many cottages over the years and I decided to buy a delapidated old cottage and turn it into one of the best kept secrets of the isle of wight and do it up to a high standard.

The Isle of Wight to me is a jewel of fun and family enjoyment but also for the old romantics, and Cowes is very much a great place to stay and enjoy the many and varied eateries and pubs that has attracted sailors and holiday makers for years. Easy to get to and a sailing heritage that gives you that unique experience.

A professional and successful holiday let for over 7 years its convenient location, sunny garden, strong wifi and SMART TVs (i work in the tech industry so always need these!), 2 modern bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen add up to a wonderful experience with a tried and tested letting approach and an amazing ex Super Yacht hostess housekeeper/cleaner.

Why they chose this property

Cowes Cottage gets the sun on the Patio and BBQ area nearly all day. TWO GLORIOUS BATHROOMS! Always needed when sharing !!
It is just a short walk from the high street and marina and I love that in the morning you can hear the birds in full song and yet in minutes you can be enjoying the life and soul of Cowes and of course Osbourne House, the home of Queen Victoria and subject of a recent film Victoria and Abdul, is in East Cowes just a short drive away over the Chain Ferry Bridge.
It has a very chic and comfortable feel, and provides a quiet and lovely retreat with all its new appliances and utilities.
All beds and mattresses are top of the range hotel contract beds with a medium to firm feel.
Netflix and Internet TVs for free in the kitchen and living room, great for kids and a dining area that seats 6.

What makes this property unique

It just has that real homely feeling, a place of laughter and happiness...
The garden is a real find in Cowes as it has the sun nearly all day!
The best of Britain Cycle 23 route passes just metres from the cottage.
Totally new renovation with all new furnishings and beds and bedding
Two bathrooms just really do make a difference!
Minutes from the nightlife of Cowes and to views of the sailing boats
Minutes from transport into Southampton by car or foot.
Seconds from no 1 bus route into Newport, the gateway by bus to the rest of the island, the bus service is very good on the island.
Compton Bay and Totland Bays just a short 25 min drive away
Free parking just north of the property.
