Perfect base to explore Norfolk
The lodge was lovely, spacious and well provisioned. Views of the lake from the balcony were beautiful. We enjoyed local walks on the river Nar and in the local forestry commission as well as seal watching at Blakeney and exploring Kings Lynn. It was a fantastic location as we were guests at a wedding at Pentney Abbey only a 10 minute walk away . Highly recommend it.

Lovely place for large families
This was the perfect size for a large family break. Our children enjoyed the playground and board games and we all loved the pool table. Plenty of space for everyone and the 4 large bathrooms were an added bonus! There was a lovely view from the living room too. Thank you.

Relaxing break
We had a great weekend away thanks to Andy & Corinne's lovely house. All the rooms were clean and well stocked - the bedrooms, bathrooms, and the fantastic open plan kitchen, dining and living room (with pool table) were even better than they looked in the photos. Thank you to Andy & Corinne. We would definitely recommend their property to anyone wanting a warm welcome, and a fun & relaxing break from city life.

Three Generation Family Stay
This property is a great place for a get together as it is spacious, clean, well equipped and has ensuite bathrooms in each of the 4 rooms, so no queueing/waiting required. The upside down living accommodation means you get a good view of the water skiing lake from one of the balconies. The pool table provided good entertainment for the kids and the adults alike. We booked the Lodge as we were attending an event at Sandringham 13 miles away, about a half hour drive. The owner was very helpful with advice about the property, site and local information. Many thanks.

Feeling a little tired considering the rental charge
Too many cobwebs and dust, but most concerning were the mice droppings in the cutlery draw requiring a complete clean down. Clearly not been cleaned for a while.

Family weekend at Alpine Lodge
The upstairs open-plan lounge and kitchen area is bright, spacious and very well equipped, with a wraparound verandah overlooking one of the lakes. The four downstairs en-suite bedrooms are ideal for larger families or groups of friends. However, the lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms is very poor, making the rooms dark and uninviting. More powerful lightbulbs would make a world of difference. Apart from that, I would recommend Alpine Lodge as a great place to stay.

Family stay in June 2023
A really nice lodge to stay for our family group it was clean and very well presented. It must be hard to keep holiday let properties looking their best all the time, but the hosts have done a good job in doing so. Andrew and Corrine kept us informed with all the details we needed before our stay. A very peaceful location. Would happily book again for next year.

Lovely cosy cabin
It was a lovely weekend, the place had everything we needed. We were under the impression that we wouldn't have any neighbours near us when in fact we had other cabins on all sides of the cabins. We were a bit self conscious about annoying other neighbours when we were out on the balcony but I don't think there were any problems. We would definitely stay again however, maybe in the summer so we can do more outdoor activities. And Andy who is one of owners was lovely and gave us all the info we needed, really put us at ease.

Lovely cabin!
We had a lovely time in the cabin! The owners called us beforehand to check in with us and made sure we could find it, due to the rural location. The cabin is well looked after and was clean and tidy when we arrived. Plenty of space for the 8 of us.

We are both hurtling toward retirement and appreciate a slower pace of life which is what drew us toward Pentney Lakes.

Why they chose this property

This was a self-build project with the cabin coming from the Transylvanian forests of Romania and needed a large plot and an open tranquil spot in which to set it and Pentney Lakes was the perfect place for it.

What makes this property unique

Space, quiet and freedom.
