Beautifully Renovated Farmhouse/Barn With Private Heated Swimming Pool

Fully renovated farmhouse and barn with recent new kitchen, bathroom and utility room. It retains many original features and is decorated to a very high standard throughout. It is an extremely spacious property, comfortably housing 10 people. There are 2 double bedrooms and 3 twin bedrooms, with a cot and additional travel cot available. Set in one and a half hectares of private land. It boasts a huge west facing terrace overlooking a secluded heated swimming pool. The house is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by fields. There are no direct neighbours and its very private. The surrounding area belongs to the local farmer and the only disturbance will be from the local cows in the adjoining fields. Nearby are numerous charming Bastide market towns, such as Castillonnes, Villareal, Eymet, Monpazier along with activities including canoeing, horse riding, fishing and go-karting. Chateaux's and vineyards are also in abundance! Available all year round and with new central heating system for winter use. Cosy up to the log fires in the living room and kitchen. Changeover day is a Sunday.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour entre amis dans cette belle ferme rénovée ! Nous étions 7 adultes, 4 enfants. La maison est très bien équipée, l’espace est présent, très adaptée pour le nombre.La piscine et le calme sont très appréciables.

A hidden gem

Six adults and four young teenagers stayed here for a week, if we were not committed else where we would have stayed a month. The house was more than large enough, full of charm and character. It offered a perfect blend of the homely feel and the competent professional touch. The pool was quite something, much larger than we imagined, well maintained and perfectly warm. The area is peaceful and stunningly beautiful. The owners seem to have it all wrapped up from the well thought out supply of kitchen utensils to the great suggestions of places to visit. We will be booking again.

Perfect rural hide away

We have just enjoyed two weeks in Serignac. Both the property and the grounds are very well maintained. The owners have have through of pretty much everything and anything you might need whilst staying there, they were also excellent with communication. In nearby Eymet you will find a really good produce market (but beware of tourist prices!) and there is The Walnut, a fab restaurant which is well with a visit. Bergerac and St Emilion are within an an hour or so drive away and again make for a nice day out, as is the lake at Lougratte (great for the kids too). Thank you to the owners for making our stay so comfortable!

Location conforme mais petit détail à améliorer

Belle propriété au calme et conforme au descriptif. Seul petit bémol, le barbecue indiqué dans la liste des appareils fournis n'était pas là. Nous avions prévu des grillades et avons donc demandé aux gestionnaires si ils avaient au moins une grille à nous prêter. Ils nous ont répondu que la seule solution était que nous en achetions une à nos frais... Vu le cout de la location, ce n'est pas très commercial

Calme et tranquillité loin de tout

Belle propriété avec bel agencement intérieur et grand jardin , capacité pour 10 personnes pour manger ensemble à l’intérieur si besoin. Grande terrasse couverte pour manger dehors. Billard et kicker sont un plus. Parfait pour se reposer. Idée : 1 ou 2 parasols près de la piscine au milieu du jardin seraient appréciés.

Fantastic stay in a great house in beautiful surroundings

We spent 3 weeks in this lovely house with a second family joining us for the middle part. The house was very well equipped and was nice to have the kitchen away from the terrace (fewer flies!) The kids loved the expansive living room with pool table and table football and they also loved the swimming pool and large garden. There were lots of inflatables, a large football goal and boules. The garden area was very peaceful with no immediate neighbours and occasionally we spotted deer in the next field! The surrounding countryside was also great for walks and bike rides and the owners had left a folder full of maps and walks. Any problems were dealt with swiftly and we had a thoroughly relaxing stay. Thank you so much for letting us holiday in this wonderful property :-)

Wonderful House and Locstion

We have had a lovely 10 days, the property is amazing the photos don’t do it justice. Extremely well equipped. Local villages and markets are lovely. Would definately book again. Thanks for letting us stay :)

Another wonderful stay at the Grand Buc

It's the second time we have stayed here so that says it all. Thanks to the property managers and owners for being so efficient when there was an issue with the upstairs toilet! And also friendly Steve who came to clean the pool after the massive storm! Just some helpful feedback - even though you have provided nearly everything (even shopping bags), it would be nice to provide those mesh food covers as there were a lot of flies! We have wonderful memories of our holidays here and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Our annual family holiday August 2017

Our party was made up 9 people aged between 69 and 7. The weather was perfect so we didn't explore the area as much as we expected, however we did visit the nearby lovely villages. It was the perfect location for our grandchildren as the could enjoy themselves and make as much noise as they wanted. We all spent endless days in the pool, which was kept bright and spotless by the pool man Steve. In the evenings we played boules and football or went for walks, there was just so much space around us. The barn was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped everything we needed! A great holiday.

aangenaam verblijf

We genoten met 2 families, bestaande uit 4 volwassenen en 5 kinderen tussen 4 en 15 jaar, van een aangename vakantie. De woning is ruim, recent gerenoveerd en voorzien van alles wat we nodig hadden. Dave en Sue waren ook vlot bereikbaar voor vragen, zo werkte de buitenlamp niet en die werd snel gemaakt door iemand die vlakbij woont. De lichten in de keuken vragen nog een nazicht, maar was zeker geen onoverkomelijk probleem. De woning ligt helemaal privé en het zwembad is verwarmd, waardoor de kinderen er uren plezier aan beleefden, ook als het eens wat minder goed weer was. Het alarm aan het zwembad voldoet aan de wettelijke normen, maar vinden wij weinig betrouwbaar. Met al iets grotere kinderen en genoeg afstand tussen de woning en het zwembad, konden we redelijk gerust zijn, maar het gaat absoluut niet snel af. Voor kleine kinderen geeft een omheining een geruster gevoel. De lakens en handdoeken werden tijdens ons verblijf ververst, een pluspunt. Een kleine handdoek voor iedereen, naast de grote zou eventueel mogen. Samengevat genoten wij van een zorgeloos, zonnig verblijf met veel plezier van de woning en het zwembad. De omgeving is ook absoluut de moeite waard, we bezochten Bergerac, Lascaux,...

Nice well -equipped property with a good deal of living space. We especially liked the comfortable sitting areas in the living area and at the end of the kitchen. The heated pool which is cleaned twice a week was especially welcome during the hot spell at the beginning of our stay. The bedrooms are all a good size. The location means that it is peaceful and undisturbed. Ideal for taking a pile of books to read in the sun by the pool or in the shade of the terrace or hammock. It was great to be able to eat out on the terrace during the warm evenings but we also liked the spacious modern kitchen with a large table for the days when it was a little cooler. The nearest village, Serignac- Péboudou has no shop/bar facilities but there are lots in Castillonnes which is about ten minutes drive away. The house is very well placed for driving into Bergerac/St Emilion/Cahors and visiting local vineyards and villages.

Beyond expectations - wonderful farmhouse in a beautiful setting

We had a brilliant time at the property whilst enjoying the southwest region of France. It was in a convenient location to get to Bergerac or Bordeaux or the smaller market towns. The house was well maintained and was of an excellent standard. The bedrooms were spacious and so was the bathroom and shower room although it would be really useful if there was another shower/toilet. The lounge and kitchen were perfect for two famillies. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool was a great size for all the kids to play in and they could make as much noise as they wanted as the location is very private. The inflatables were much appreciated and so were the fans in the bedrooms. The owners have been helpful when we had a problem with the Wifi which was hit and miss. We would definitely recommend this to our family and friends and would come back again.

Cheap for a reason...

The house is fine, cheaply furnished from Ikea but what you would expect for the price. The knives all needed sharpening (we bought our own steel for this purpose - the one provided wouldn't sharpen butter!), the freezer would not stay shut properly, the garden furniture was not clean upon our arrival and there were no cleaning solutions provided. However, the owner is claiming that we broke/stole items and left the property 'filthy' and is refusing to refund our deposit. Makes me wonder why there are so few reviews - is this their business practise??!! I would NEVER recommend dealing with these people unless you are willing to accept that 'refundable deposit' means extra fees!

Really relaxing peaceful rural location

The Gite offered everything we needed both inside and out. The accommodation was clean comfortable and stylish. Plenty of games and dvd's. We would have liked a table tennis table in addition to the other entertainment provided. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the ice machine. There were plenty of sun loungers and you could find some shade under the trees but a canopy or two would have been good for the midday sunshine. Children loved the pool and it was a comfortable heat and the adults loved the hammock!

Excellent farmhouse and barn in lovely location

The property lived up to all expectations, spacious,attractively designed and furnished. As a large all age family group we enjoyed all of the living and entertainment facilities all excellently maintained. The house is located in spacious grounds with a good pool and large outside barn providing good BBQ and eating spaces. There is much to enjoy in the area with plenty of small villages providing great evening events and sports opportunities. Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and would recommend this property as ideal for a large family group. The owner provided excellent customer support.

40th Anniversary Family get-together

10 of our immediate family enjoyed a wonderful week in Grand Buc. With ages varying from 5mts up to Senior citizens (including a 4 and 5yr old) the house gave us the space that was needed both inside and out. It was very clean, well cared for and very well equipped. We found the listing description accurate in all cases. The owners provided a very good customer service and we would certainly recommend it to our family and friends. If the opportunity arises, we would have no hesitation in a return visit.

We love the slow pace of life in France. This region has beautiful countryside, good for walking or cycling with the freedom to enjoy the quiet roads. The property is in a remote unspoilt rural location with quaint market Bastide towns. Close to the local airport of Bergerac. Lots of good food and wine. The property is a typical French farmhouse/barn made of local stone which personifies this area of France.

We love the pool and outdoor life. Privacy and get away from it all feel, plenty of space both inside and out to relax whilst taking in the French way of life.
