A beautiful 3 bedroomed peoperty in the quiet seaside village of Beadnell. Located close to the beach and beautiful scenery of Northumberland its an ideal base to explore and enjoy this amazing area. Hilly Brow has 3 bedrooms; one double with ensuite and 2 single rooms. A beautiful family bathroom completes the upstairs. Downstairs there is a modern kitchen with dining area and a separate large lounge with patio doors onto a fully enclosed south facing back garden with decking and furniture. With mod cons you'd expect Hilly Brow is a lovely house ideal for a couple and smaller families!

A little gem in.

Booked this at very short notice, super fast response from the host who was more than happy to accommodate us with our large deerhound. The cottage is very nice, it's in a brilliant location, has everything you need if you are self catering, certainly wasn't 'disappointed ". The bedrooms were spotless and had plenty of storage, bedding was good quality, and had fresh smell. Overall, this is the best place we have stayed, and will definitely be going back. Thank you.

Dissapointed

We’ve stayed in this location / estate three times now at different nearby properties to this one. This one left us underwhelmed as we encountered quite a few issues which, because of the holiday/NY period, we felt had no option but to manage through. Issues included: Cleanliness on arrival - cobwebs present in two rooms, crockery /utensils not clean, grease on stove, backing trays, fridge seal mouldy and chopping board with dried food on, en-suite shower had mold/failed seal. Equipment - Basics for a 7 night self catering stay were missing from inventory including. No measuring jug, no sharp pairing knife, no oven dishes (pies/lasagne/stews not doable). First aid kit consisted of string, a bandage and anti-septic cream that went out date in 2015 Facilities - The freezer was just only just freezing things after we removed 2inch ice build up, back garden decking was lethal and a slip hazard with green algae and stone garden area beyond decking was poorly maintained. No outside lights worked at front - none to rear. The bedrooms and linen were all clean. Facilities and layout upstairs was really nice and homely. The property really is in a fabulous position for guests to take advantage of all in locality. There are however better accommodations nearby for same price available elsewhere. We’re sorry to have had to write this review and would be willing to share the photos we took with the owner if they wished to get in touch.

Perfect Base

Hilly Brow was a perfect base for us to explore the area. Just a few minutes walk from Beadnell Bay and a short drive to several other magnificent beaches. It is a well equipped holiday cottage with a deck area at the back which caught the afternoon sun which gave outside living space. The owner was very helpful with a couple of minor problems, having her maintenance team visit and carry out repairs very quickly indeed. We'll certainly keep this place in mind for future holidays in the area.

Superb location

My friend and I stayed in Susie's house for a week in December. It was 100mtrs from the beach, clean, well presented and in a great location. It had been decorated with a Christmas tree too. We know the area well and loved this visit especially as the weather was superb.

Just what we expected - a great house with everything we needed.

Tucked away in a quiet corner but close to the beach, Hilly Brow was a good base for beach andcoast path walking or venturing further afield by bus, bikes or car. The surrounding area is flat so bikes are a very suitable form of transport if that takes your fancy. The house has everything we needed being warm, comfortable and with plenty of hot water from a powerful shower. We can recommend to friends and would stay again.

Beautiful house in Beadnell Bay

We had a wonderful stay at Hilly Brow, it is immaculate and so well equipped with everything you need. It was a 5 minute walk to the harbour and beach. Will definitely stay there again in the future.

Wonderful location, fab layout, could do with a new kettle as leaked water everywhere and the freezer took days to freeze fresh items and ice cubes. All in all a lovely place, have booked again for next year.

great holiday home 10 minutes walk from my favorite beach

lovely clean modern house on a nice quiet newer estate in Beadnel.in a lovely cul de sac only 8-10 minutes walk to one of the uks best beaches. House was fab with some outside seating on a decked rear garden. master bedroom lovely with en suite and two singles.... Two parking bays and everything we needed for out daughter and grandson (2 years) who came to spoil our peace and quiet for a few days. I would highly recommend this place as a beadnell sea side holiday home,

Lovely holiday home

Our second time to Beadnell and to Susie's second property Hilly Brow. We weren't expecting this to be as good as Cowry Cottage but it was perfect and just as good. We were pleasantly surprised as it's much bigger inside than it looks. The garden was our favourite as it was such a suntrap, ideal for when it was a bit windy on the beach or that morning cuppa or evening glass of gin. Beadnell is a perfect location to explore Northumberland and also its a great place for our dog. Thanks again Susie, we hope to come back soon

Perfect location

We had a lovely week doing lots of walking and cycling from the property unfortunately the weather wasn’t too good as we had sea fret for the first half of the week. The accommodation was very spacious and just as described, It seemed a bit basic but I think that was due to things been removed due to COVID ( such as cushions) the back garden was a perfect sun trap which we enjoyed in the last couple of days. I had a few messages with Susie and she was always prompt in her replies and extremely helpful.

Great house just minutes from the beach

My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog) greatly enjoyed our stay in Beadnell and would have no hesitation in booking this property again. All rooms were clean and tidy and the house itself is ideally located close to Beadnell beach and provides a great base to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast.

Beautiful property but in a housing estate. Much further to beach,shop and pub than listed as you had to go all the way through the estate first

Great place to stay

This property is great very comfortable clean and has all you need from a modern tastefully decorated property. Fantastic checking in procedure. Very easy to find from owner inductions would highly recommend this property. Short walk to beach that was great for our big daft labrador ...book this place for a great stay in Northumberland

Hilly Brow

Hillybrow is situated in an excellent location for the beach and local community pubs and restaurants. The property is beautifully decorated with ample parking and garden space . The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome basket of wine and cookies was indeed very welcoming. We have already booked again for 2020 . Communication with the owner was first class

Home from home

We loved staying here so close to the beach but very quiet also. This house has everything you may need and was completely spotless we hope to be back very soon. Thank you Susie for your quick responses and excellent directions wine and biscuits on arrival was also very thoughtful.

the house is lovely, very well equipped clean and tidy. a trip out to the Farne Islands by boat is a must, also holy island. all excellent beaches, Beadnell beach is 8mins walk from house, and all are totally dog friendly, would definitely use this house again. thanks

'Great place to stay'

Stayed for a week with our dog lovely property.. Beadnell is a lovely place with nice walks nearby and beyond and plenty to see. Lovely beaches and nice places to eat in Seahouses and surrounding area. Will definately return again.

Fantastic stay

We had a fantastic stay - it was a perfect base for exploring the local area and wonderfully close to the beach. The house itself was great. All done to a very high standard, which made for a very comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely, clean, well equipped and located.

We had a wonderful stay here. The house had everything we needed and was clean and well equipped. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach, which the whole family enjoyed especially the dog. Our third stay at Beadnell and our favourite property so far. Wish it could have been a longer stay.

Great place to stay ideal for my young family

Terrific place to stay with easy access to the beach. Very comfortable with a great selection of dvds for the kids if the weathers not great. Was quite surprised to find no dish washer bit made no difference to how much we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely holiday home in great location

We had a lovely time in this modern 'cottage'. It is only a short walk to the beautiful golden beach, and a longer stretch if you want to walk a bit further along the coast, with handy pubs along the way to take a break. Seahouses is convenient for small shopping trips - and Alnwick is only 25 minutes away for a weekly shop. The whole area is very welcoming to dogs, which means bringing our little Cocker Spaniel with us is a pleasure. Would definitely recommend.

I'm a mum of two children who runs the cottage as a family home, it's warm and friendly and I'll try to accommodate people's requirements as best as I can. Being a mum I know what it's like to go on holiday with children so I've tried to include as many of the basic children's equipment as I can - cot, high chair, stair gates, bed guards etc etc. I can even provide a buggy if required!! Just ask and I'll see what I can do!

I'm passionate about the North East and think everyone should come and visit such a magnificent part of the country. I bought the house to provide a nice, clean and affordable place for people to stay and explore this beautiful area, I just hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
