Good property
The property was lovely, and clean. A great location with good amenities. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor which was a bit tricky for us staying with young kids and not mentioned in the information, and the on street parking availability on the street mentioned nearby was really limited, but we travelled on a very busy school holiday weekend. We have stayed at lots of homes as an extended family group and this was great, with a good location. Only criticism would be that 9:30am is the earliest check out time we’ve ever been given, and for over £700 a night I would expect not to have to strip the beds ourselves or bring our own towels. Other than this all good - they’ve a cracking BBQ! Thanks!

Delightful home with a real warm welcoming feel
Stayed 3 nights for daughters 30th birthday, 9 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and 1 small dog. Ample space for everyone and more, great downstairs twin and bathroom for the less agile one, cracking kitchen with everything you could ever need for cooking. Lovely large dining room to get everyone around at meal times and a great lounge to relax in with loads of room to play games/toys with grandkids, beds very comfy, huge bath, only one negative, the shower in the en-suite room with the three single beds did not have very good water pressure, I am sure this is something that could be easily sorted as the water throughout the house was generally good. This house if of some age so expect a squeaky floor board here and there, and single pane windows in some rooms, central heating and fire in lounge both work a treat. Tvs in lounge, dining room and kitchen, none in the bedrooms which didn’t bother us, for those that what it the wifi was excellent. Only a 5 mins walk into town or to the river. This home is a little gem and we all really enjoyed our stay and wouldbook again.

Cute house, great location
Grand old gaff but tastefully modernised to add all the creature comforts. Clean and comfortable with all the required equipment. A stone's throw from Keswick.

Perfection
This property was absolutely beautiful, and closely situated to Keswick's town centre, which was also stunning. It's just a few minutes's walk away from town, and ten minutes to Derwent Water, which was lovely to walk around with plenty for kids to do. We were a party of nine adults and three kids, and the house was spacious, beautifully appointed and clearly well kept. I suspect that this might be a hidden gem we return to year after year. Highly, highly recommended.

So much more than we hoped!
When booking any house on a self-catering basis self-catering, there is always some worry about the location/condition/size of the property. On this holiday, we had know need to worry. From the moment we walked through the front door, our impression was one of warmth, comfort and a welcoming feeling. The condition of the furnishings and fittings was really good and showed that a lot of attention to detail had gone into making sure that the accommodation was appealing and useful. This holiday was a special occasion and the owners succeeded in making it even more so.

Beautiful and comfy lodge, ideal for large familie
I loved every minute of our family weekend in Oak Lodge. The house is beautiful and so welcoming. There was nothing that we needed. It was like home from home, I did not want the weekend to end. Definitely plan to return and would have no hesitation to recommend to friends.

Christmas weekend in Keswick 2016
Our annual Christmas weekend in Keswick has been at Oak Lodge for the past 3 years and this is the perfect venue for either a few families or groups of friends to spend a weekend in Keswick. The locations is ideal, with only a few minutes walk downhill to the centre of town. The property is well laid out for a big group with a large sitting room that everyone can fit in and a big table in the dinning room which everyone can fit round. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped and with 4 bathrooms in the place there are no long queues for the shower. The property is always well presented and clean and is finished to a modern but in-keeping style of the location. Booking through the owners is always an easy process with excellent friendly service provided by all. Keswick is a perfect location to spend some time in the Lake District, with plenty of excellent walks direct from the front door and with endless numbers of shops, bars and restaurants within easy walk, the Goulash in the Dog and Gun is particularly recommended and the Skiddaw Hotel does the best mulled wine in town!

An excellent property
We were a group of nine on a week's walking holiday. The house is spacious and very well furnished throughout. The kitchen is very well equipped. The location is excellent with the centre of Keswick a gentle three minute stroll away. We were lucky to have good weather all week and the excellent garden furniture in the front of the house was well used. Overall, this is a very good property and we would stay here again. One possible issue is parking. We had three cars and there is only parking for one car. The parking area is shared with the house next door and they are permanent residents. Although there is also a garage, it is tapered and very small. There was an old washing machine in the garage and we couldn't get the smallest car into the space. Parking in the nearby street is free but in busy periods it can be difficult to get a space.

We have been coming to the Lakes for the last 30 years and now work in the area and believe in putting as much back into the local community as possible by helping promote the local tourism industry to all of our clients and guests across all of our businesses, which helps create a sustainable Keswick.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to the Lake District now for 20 years as a family as well with friends and there is not much that we have not done over this time, but every time we revisit we are always amazed at our next adventure.
There are plenty of things to do for all ages, from shopping and sampling the local cafes, restaurants and pubs, to enjoying tennis, bowls and putting in Fitz Park close by. The park also has swings, slides etc for younger children and plenty of green space for football, cricket and such like.
Keswick Leisure Pool is next to the park where one can swim, use the fitness suite or join in an exercise class

What makes this property unique

Generously proportioned 5 bedroomed 200 year old Coach House of considerable character with attractive large enclosed private front garden (the Garden is great location for outdoor entertaining).

It is ok for you to drop off and pick up your guests at the property but not to park there whilst staying at the property, there is free on-street parking on Eskin Street which is just around the corner from the house 20m away.

This generously proportioned holiday home of distinction provides accommodation to the highest of standards with excellent examples of antique furniture throughout the property.

This 5 bedroom period house offers spacious, well equipped self-catering accommodation, ideal for 2 / 3 families or groups of Walkers / Bikers / Large groups holidaying together for between 5 & 12 people
