Extremely Awesome!!!! The pictures do it no justice. I want to also give the cleaning crew a round of applause, I always wipe everything down when I enter but I didn’t need to. It felt like home this is the 1st rental where I didn’t need
The actual house was everything we thought it would be, charming and spacious. The lakefront view was amazing, could not have asked for more. However, we have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years and this one was certainly lacking. No welcome binder with little tidbits about the surrounding areas or restaurants or places to go. Lots of basic amenities that we would expect out of vacation home were not available to us including a blow dryer or an iron or even extra towels for that matter. Would have Loved a throw blanket or such to be able to sit outside on the beautiful deck on the brisk mornings. Had there been some extra little comforts or anything at all welcoming us into this house for the weekend, we probably could’ve forgiven the massive spiderwebs that were everywhere. I wonder when it was cleaned or prepared before we came… Certainly a large beautiful lakefront house, but not very welcoming to an out-of-town weekend guest. Pretty unfortunate.
Had a great time with the guys. Fishing, Football, Golfing etc. already planning to stay again at Lake Norman but with more of our childhood friends next October need house for 10 guys?
This home was perfect for a fall work/planning retreat with two living areas and a lovely kitchen. The view of the lake from the house was beautiful and even though we had rain almost the entire stay we still enjoyed the space.
Wonderful property on a nice warm lake beautiful rooms and plenty of space for everyone. We would like to have had a few more amenities for the water as we had zero not even a pool noodle so you have to bring everything yourself also bring your own shampoo etc. none provided. We would return with family anytime.
We caught a lot of fish,it was peaceful and relaxing and enjoy being with family and they enjoyed it ..me and my sister said it was our house for a week..lol wouldn't mind going back one day
Everything inside was nice & clean but outside needed pressure washing and exterminating. Had to clean up chairs and and doorways outside. Killed a bug or spider everyday. Needed better better and extra towels and basic cleaning supplies.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay there. Porch view was very relaxing. New kitchen & new bathrooms were very nice. The owner was very prompt on any questions/concerns. It is short 4 mile drive into Troutman & State Park is approx 3 miles away to visit.
We can’t fault a single thing.
The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We were made to feel right at home.
We can’t recommend this place highly enough
Will be coming back— that’s for
Sure
This was such a great place to stay on Lake Norman. Swimming. fishing, and raft floating occupied our days! We enjoyed the cabin feel of the home, sure it’s dated, but the 2nd level porch is where you will spend your time if you can pull yourself off the great dock and lake! We would book this place again for sure!
We had a wonderful time on our lake vacation. The house is dated, so don't expect something modern and it could use a good deep clean (cobwebs, etc.) We spent most of our time on the AMAZING dock, floating in the lake, and having a great time with the covered deck that offered shade and electric hookup. John was great to work with and communicated very quickly when we had questions. This is a great rental and a good price.
Had a great time at the lake last week. The house was very nice and had everything you need to make the week easy and pleasant. Great location. The upper deck was great for laying in the sun, very comfortable chairs. We enjoyed putting floats in water and had easy access to get into the water with the ladder on the dock. Beds were very comfortable and the porch overlooking the lake was great. Nice to have a grill to cook in several nights. The owner was very accommodating and was answered our questions in a very timely manner. I would recommend it to anyone looking to go to Lake Norman and will definitely go back again. It was a great week at the lake!!!

About the host
Hosted by John Grubb
Our family has always enjoyed being near the water. After we purchased the house there was not a lot of discussion about where we were going to go or what we were going to do. We got the kids and headed to the lake. We thought at first that we would host lots of parties but as time went by it became a sanctuary for our family to gather and relax. The kids went off to school and Kyna and I found out we used it even more. The kids are married now and when they are in town we still gather at the lake house. Kyna and I are traveling more and thought we would share our place with you.
Why they chose this property
Kyna and I both grew up near Lake Norman and spent a lot of summers on the lake. Myself for sailing and Kyna for waterskiing. We knew we wanted deep water year round and a great view of the lake. We looked at a lot of houses but never could find the perfect place. When we saw this property our search was over. We have a large lot with plenty of shade and great outdoor gathering spaces. The view from the rockers on the porch for us is magical. We can sit and watch the heron that visits each morning or the ducks and geese that come by in the afternoon. Picnic on the dock are fun as we share our food with the fishes. Inside, there are great rooms for gathering and there is always a pool game going on in the lower level. Each bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom. The kids have always slept in the loft which has an awesome view of the house and the lake.
What makes this property unique
One of the best places to be is on the back deck watching the sun set or the kids play. You can see when the boat comes in or who is going off the dock. The kitchen has two doors that open onto the deck for easy access to the grill. The great room also opens to the deck and offers a wonderful view of the lake and the dock. We did not realize until three years ago when we built a new dock how much time we spent on the water. Kyna prefers to sun on the upper level while being Irish my skin and I prefer the shaded gazebo below.
