New Year Family Holiday
This was our second "New Year" stay at Bay View as we love the area, the walks and the location. Although the property comfortably fits our family of 8 we felt, this year, it was tired and in need of some tic and a deep clean. The curtains in the front bedroom and living room area didn't close properly and were held on by just a few hooks. There were 3 bulbs missing in the kitchen and hardly enough glasses for a large family. The upstairs rooms particularly were very cold and we had to move the heaters from the living room up there to keep them warm enough. We enjoyed our stay and had a lovely week in Port Isaac but sadly we will be looking for a different property next year for the reasons mentioned above.

Very poor
The images on the website must be years old because upon arriving at the property we was very disappointed! Far to many issues to list but main ones being mould growing up one of the bedroom walls mould in the shower no light bulbs in 2 of the bedrooms cleanliness issues and the worst of all a full bottle of lighter fluid just left open on the balcony which has we not spotted and my dog got hold of it well it could of been fatal. No heating all week 2 engineers came out interrupted our holiday but couldn’t fix it we had no tea towels and when issue finally resolved was too late as they arrived the day before we left! House very run down and yet there charging £1300 plus for a week madness! I’m still waiting for a response from someone regarding an explanation and compensation. Overall not good! We’ve been coming to Cornwall as a family for years including to port Isaac and never had these kind of issues but we didn’t let it ruin our holiday!

A good size property in need of some TLC
Bay View is in need of a lot of TLC. It is looking very tired and worn out. However it is in a good quiet location with great views close to the only supermarket in Port Isaac. The house is spacious with a secure garden for children and dogs and off road parking. The beds are clean and very comfortable but an adult cannot stand up in the upstairs bath because of where it is situated underneath the sloping attic ceiling. The washer and dryer are a godsend.

Comfortable holiday home in great location.
A good-sized house that took 10 of us comfortably, with plenty of space for all chill out. The house was clean and well appointed and views from the balcony were lovely with some smashing sunsets during our stay. Port Isaac was a great location to access local attractions, whilst the harbour beach and neighbouring Port Gaverne beach a short walk away - worth noting that the lanes down to the harbour are fairly steep! Port Gaverne beach was definitely a favourite for all us :D Lovely part of Cornwall to explore and we will be back!

Not up to standard
We stayed for a week in Bay View in July 2022 The house is in a great location, the garden is really secure for dogs and having parking is good. However, the house itself needs a lot of updating compared to other houses we have stayed in. We have been holidaying in Cornwall for the past 10+ years, mainly in Padstow. There were lots of ‘little things’ that would have easily been sorted but just hadn’t been; - There was no lightbulb in the ceiling light in one of the bedrooms - Curtains and blinds were hanging off the fixtures and curtains in one bedroom didn’t meet in the middle - The tiles in the shower were mouldy and the radiator in the bathroom was rusty and paint peeling off - Part of the windows in one of the bedrooms were corroded so windows couldn’t be opened or closed because of this - The sofas were not clean But there were also bigger issues; - The decking outside was wobbly and so unsafe - One of the bedrooms seemed to have mould patches and paint peeling from the wall - The carpet was fraying and wasn’t fitted at the edges - The steps down to the grassy area of the garden don’t have a handrail, leaving quite a large drop down one side, especially dangerous for young children The bedrooms on the first floor are not suitable for adults as it is cramped and would only be suitable for children. I have contacted Cornish Seaview Cottages about all of the issues above who have advised they will pass my feedback onto the owners

A weeks family holiday
This was our second time staying here. The last time was 2019. It’s in a great location with wonderful views over Port Isaac from the back balcony. It could do with a bit of updating in some area’s ( the back door is hard to close, not many small glasses, ) but nothing major. The layout of the house certainly works for our family when we get together for a holiday.

Felt run down
We’ve stayed here before, and felt comfortable. After 2 yrs wait, because of Covid, the house seems sad. Disappointed with the maintenance , and felt it was overpriced even though Port Isaac is a popular destination. Unless maintenance improves, I wouldn’t go back to this house.

Severe damp issues in the bedroom
I am still waiting on feedback following our stay last week. We are a family of 6 adults and 3 children so a 5 bed property was necessary. Unfortunately one of the bedrooms had a significant damp problem, the smell was so strong that we couldn’t use the room so we had to share beds. This was a known issue to the property owners and agents because we had a visit from the loss adjuster during our stay to assess the problem. I am waiting for a satisfactory reply to this issue where the room should not have been advertised as being in use. I have sent photos to the agent of the walls in the room which were covered in mold and paint all blown. I have no other complaints. The instructions were clear prior to check in, check in/out process was perfect, ideal location, beautiful views and everything you would need in a holiday home. Great facilities provided at the house. However, the property is not being advertised correctly in its current state. We should have been notified the bedroom is not in use and measures could have been put in place prior to our stay. I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you

Fantastic stay!
We had a fabulous time staying in Port Isaac - the location of the house is perfect and within walking distance of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, there are some brilliant cliff walks with amazing views. The house was plenty big enough for all of us and the seating on the veranda was ideal. Would definitely recommend :)

Comfortable house in attractive harbour town
Roomy and well-decorated house with a good location overlooking the harbour of an attractive Cornish town. Good bedrooms and a spacious living area for a large group - in better weather we would have enjoyed the terrace too. The location is excellent for cliff-walking (we did lots of that despite the mixed weather) and close to Polzeath for surfing. Easy access to cafes, restaurants and take-aways in Port Isaac. There were a couple of minor practical problems on arrival (including no hot water) but these were sorted out the next day after a phone call to the caretaker. The internet connection is rather variable as we found when trying to watch Netflix flims on the TV - so if there is a way of boosting the supply this would be welcome. Otherwise the house was pretty ideal for our purposes and I would recommend it warmly to others who like this kind of location.

Good house
We stayed with another family and there was plenty of room for us all (4 adults and 6 kids). The house is spacious and well laid out. It is a bit tired in places and in need of some attention, however this did not cause us any issues. The kitchen is well equipped with the exception of a potato peeler! The decking area outside is lovely to sit out on when the weather is being good to us, however the furniture is very dated and some of the chairs felt very unsafe to sit on, pleased none of them gave up on us! The garden is a great size for the children to burn of some energy and the laundry room being away from the kitchen is great as it means no listening to a washing machine whilst trying to relax in an open plan area. I would recommend this house for a large group or a couple of families as it is well located in Port Issac and the town had a great pub and some other shops and cafes. You can also walk to neighbouring ports, although they are somewhat smaller.

all 10 of us plus baby Rosa and Dylan the dog had a lovely break - very good locations and wonderful views. Could do with another shower room downstairs for the number of people.

Why they chose this property

Fantastic large house with parking for 3 cars (which is a rarity in Port Isaac). Only a 5 or 10 minute walk down to the harbour. Spacious property great for families with lovely views out over the valley.
