About this property

The Hideaway-A Peaceful And private location, countryside views. 2 mins to beach

The Hideaway is A lovely 2 bedroom lodge set in a peaceful location only 500 yards from the unspoilt beach. Private, quiet you can truly have a relaxing holiday. There is a small shop nearby open seasonally, where you can enjoy an ice cream and even have a cream tea or cake and freshly made sandwiches. The main bedroom has a king size bed and an en suite shower, the second bedroom has 2 full sized single beds. There is a bathroom next to this. Open plan kitchen/living/diner which is spacious and comfortable. Large decking outside to sit and relax.(Garden and deck chairs in the shed). Picnic table. Right on the Jurassic Coastline, ideal for walkers. Easy walking distance to hotel and pub serving food. Lovely walk over to West Bay. A real quiet and private getaway.

ENTRANCE AND PARKING
One of our reviews said the entrance was very narrow and put them off going out. The lane down to Eype is narrow but is wide enough for large vans i.e. Tesco, Waitrose vans, dustbin van, skip hire vans. The actual entrance to the Hideaway is up a fairly steep tarmac driveway only a few yards then you are in an open field. This entrance is also used for parking in the summer for the public and large cars can get up it. Please do not be put off by the review. If you have any concern or would like to know the actual width of the entrance please contact me. Thank you.

Great location for walks along the coastline and very quiet area right near a small beach.
Great location and the photos of the property didn't do it justice as its bigger than it looks. The lovely owners Keith and Jill live close by, so if there were any issues getting in contact would be very easy. I would highly recommend for a relaxing quiet time away or for costal walks with amazing views.

Wonderfully peaceful location.
Very private comfortable cottage. Everything provided. Very hot weather during our stay. The duvets were too hot. Missed my own lightweight one. Quite narrow road leading to cottage but got the hang of it after day one. Highly recommend it for a peaceful holiday in beautiful Dorset. Great walks. Bridport charming. Recommend sunshine cafe in Bridport.

My return to Eype
Having been on holiday in Eype before I was looking for a property that was more dog friendly. I needed a grassy area near the property. With the Hideaway, this was not a problem. There's a huge grassy area, (field!), just outside the front door. The property was comfortable and had all the mod cons. Very tidy. Clean. I was a bit surprised that tea and coffee wasn't available on arrival. Make sure you bring some with you just in case you are gasping for a cuppa when you arrive. The great thing about the Hideaway is that it's so close to the beach. Just a few minutes walk away and you're there. My dog loved it. Also, it's so close to all the walks in the area. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

A perfect ‘Hideaway’ in a beautiful setting - this chalet is private and has 5 star facilities.
This place really is away from it all in a beautiful setting. The chalet is very well equipt with everything you could need. It is comfortable and lots more spacious than it looks on the pictures. The lane down is narrow but totally accessible in a 7 seater mpv. There is a steep drive which is narrow up to the property but it there is plenty of room. If you don’t like hills then this place isn’t for you, but that’s what we love about Eype, and the awesome cliffs. We didn’t have access to WiFi through the campsite however there is a fantastic mobile and internet signal. You can’t expect super speed broadband in this part of the world. The trees around the chalet make it private (some have commented on the trees blocking the view) but if you go to the corner of the massive deck you can see roof tops and a little bit of the sea. The deck is huge and there is plenty of chairs in the shed to use. The Hideaway is a few minutes walk to the beach which is just incredibly beautiful. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in an amazing location, I highly recommend this property. Thanks Jill for a lovely holiday :)

A lovely little "Hideaway". Would be even better in the summer months.
Just spent Christmas at the "Hideaway" and really enjoyed the stay in Eype. We did experience some terrible weather, but even that did not spoil our stay. The cottage was decorated with a Christmas tree and decorations and the welcome basket of food items and bottle of wine was a delight. Just a couple of suggestions for small improvements: the outside light needs to be a bit brighter and the sensor light did not come on: having a small dog with us and the weather being so wet it would have been useful to have a small entrance porch to thoroughly clean the dog before entering the lounge area. We had taken our own hose to clean the dog and towels to dry him off before entering However we managed ok. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would certainly like to come back in the summer.

Peace and quiet and a short walk to the beach
Lovely chalet tucked away behind another property. Very clean and tidy, comfortable beds. Well equipped. Just a shame the sea view is blocked by tall conifer trees.

Perfect peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy the lovely walks and beach.
The chalet was tucked away in a peace spot in Eype. Close to the beach, ideal for walking the coastal paths. Hold your breath whilst you squeeze through the entrance to the Hideaway, can be achieved with perfection after a couple of days! Well equipped chalet, clean, spacious and airy, lovely decking area to sit and soak up the last sunshine of the day. Meghan my dog was really happy and safe too. Lovely holiday.

Fantastic Property in Great Location
We stayed at Hideaway with our two small Westies in the last week of June 2017 The bungalow is in a fantastic location in the small village of Eype with a 10 minute walk to the New Inn pub which does great food and 10 minutes to the beach which was good for us with dogs allowed all year round. The bungalow has everything you would need and is well looked after very comfortable and homely with a secure garden and veranda again good for the dogs or small children. From Eype there are fantastic walks to West Bay and Seatown where you must visit the Anchor for great food and stunning views from the beer garden. We had a fantastic week at the Hideaway and would highly recommend for a lovely bungalow in a quiet rural location but well located to explore Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. Lovely peaceful hideaway!
We enjoyed a weeks stay at the hideaway over the Easter holidays. We found it very clean and organised and very peaceful. There were lots of walks on the doorstep and the beach just down the road. I would mention that the access from the road is very steep with an awkward bend and norrow walls. My fully loaded MPV struggled to get through. This made us unsure about driving out and about because we didn't want to have to try it again. We thought access would have been better through the caravan park next door but the guy there was a bit reluctant to help. I also had no mobile signal (if this is something you rely on it may be worth knowing). I could get some signal at the top of the nearby hills. That said, it was actually quite nice to be cut off from the real world for a bit and have to walk everywhere. Keep a spare tea towel handy to wave in front of the smoke alarm when cooking or frying as it's located above the oven which seemed to set it off every time we opened it. Other than that a lovely and comfortable place to relax. We all had a great week. Our girls and dog enjoyed the beach and the sea and as it's only a few feet away it was lovely to be able to visit without any hassle. Thanks for your hospitality and the wine from your vineyard, which was lovely with Easter dinner. This truly is a hideaway!

Loved our week away
This lovely cabin is tucked away behind cottages down a narrow, picturesque Lane which leads down to a beautiful pebble beach. First impressions were that it was very clean and tastefully decorated. The main bedroom has an on suite which is handy and the second bedroom easily had enough room for a travel cot to be set up in between the beds. Well appointed kitchen, though the number of cups was unnecessary and could have done with a bigger bread board and colander! Esp if you were cooking for 4! Also, a little more cupboard space for you to put your own food/items would be useful. Great to have a few essentials left ready for us and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. The decking was very popular with my toddler who was able to run about safely contained but the grass area was not really suitable for him due to the stinging nettles all the round the edge. Useful leaflets for local attractions in the cottage and a selection of entertainment available. Wasger/drier and dishwasher very handy to have. A couple of things that stopped it being 5 stars: Despite being listed, the internet was unusable (when signal was available) due to it not being 'secure'. (3g was almost non existent in the area as well so be aware if you use it to look up things to do in the area and go prepared) This is something I look for when booking so it was a bit disappointing. Instructions for recycling and rubbish were unclear and didn't seem to relate to what was in place bin wise. Having to take a travel cot and high chair was a bit of a pain, especially as there seems to be room in the cabin for them to be stored. This would have been a real bonus to have there. Communication from owner was swift and helpful with queries answered in a timely fashion. The area is beautiful and perfect for visiting local attractions. I can definitely recommend The Hideaway and despite some of the small issues, would still visit again!

I live with my husband here in Eype and we have been fortunate to have Sealark our chalet which is right next to the beach on a small private site of only 15 chalets. We also have The Hideaway which is "hidden" in our back garden and has lovely countryside views, but still only a few hundred yards away from the beach. Being able to let others come and enjoy our chalet and the surrounding areas is a bonus for us. You can be assured that the property will be clean and fresh upon your arrival. If you are looking for peace and relaxation with wonderful views, then come and stay with us.

Why they chose this property

Quiet, peaceful and secluded. Very close to the beach. Jurassic Coastal Footpath only a minute away. Kitchen fully equipped as you would find at home.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet with wonderful country side views, yet only 2 minutes from the beach. The Hideaway has a very large decking area and also a grassed area, plenty of room to sit and relax without any neighbours watching over you.
