We loved this property - the views from many windows was amazing and we were lucky with the weather for most of our stay. The approach to the property is interesting - narrow road full of potholes so drive with care and slowly!!
Beautiful sunset views from almost every room. Great bathrooms, good mattresses, pillows and bedding. However, the house needs a little TLC/updating. We still had a great stay and it was ideal for 4 mature ladies to get away for a long weekend of R&R
Lovely position overlooking Porthtowan and south west along the coast to Carbis Bay and St Ives. Close to the coastal path providing beautiful walks to many tin mines along the heritage coast trails. Perfect getaway whatever the weather. Very comfortable and showers were excellent
My family and I spent a weekend at this property and absolutely fell in love. The view alone makes it worth the stay. But the house was also great. A little hard to find and a little ways from town, which ensures privacy and peace and quiet, but also still close enough for grocery delivery. :) Easy check-in/out process and timely communication. Highly recommend.
This house and its location are stunning. We has such a great time here and loved the well equiped kitchen. The house was clean and warm, wish we could have stayed for longer.
As mentioned before, the location is beautifull but remote. The house is spacious as well for a big group.
Now the downside:
As mentioned two years ago by other visitors, one bed is still stabilized by bricks as is the settee in the lounge. The railing of the terrace won’t hold anybody falling against it. The terrace door is difficult to close and doesn’t close properly. The bathrooms look fairly recently fitted, but the light is extremely dim in all of them ( more like candlelight). The kitchen is well equipped but getting towards its end of time - again the light is pretty dim. Their isn‘t sufficient wardrobe space nor a cloak room if you are travelling with a few people over a longer period.
The house is full of cobwebs and dust. The windows are dirty. May a new cleaner would help..
Otherwise Mark is very helpful when you contact him. I just hope he reads this and considers some repairs and newfurniture as well as better cleaning.
Ar first seemed but rough round the edges!
BUT very clean and comfortable.
Great bathrooms and comfy beds.
Plenty of space for us party of 10.
Great decking with amazing views.
We will be back.!
A good location for us, however the walk back up the hill from the beach is challenging to say the least.
The property generally in good condition but could do with a little love
Lovely house, garden and locality. Access to the beach was easier to walk to the end of the road and down the hill.
Split your recycling and put in bags, saves the rubbish collectors opening all your bags to separate it!!
The house is nice, plenty of room to have your own space. (There was 10 of us and a dog). It’s well equipped for cooking, condiments, washing up liquid, tea towels etc. The house could do with a bit of TLC as could the decking area, (fence and some of the chairs). Garden itself is lovely, well kept lawn and flower beds and plenty of room for the kids to play.
The 4 bathrooms were good, showers were warm and powerful especially the main bathroom. (You had a bath and hand towel each).
Early check out (9.30) is a bit harsh although found the 5pm check in more of an inconvenience, would say an early check in would be good if an option going forward.
Beach is sandy, watch the tide though. A walk to chapel beach along the beach is worth it! Not an over commercialised area which is really nice.
Would stay here again and would recommend it.
We had a great time celebrating my mum and her partner finally getting married after 25 years together.
The house was lovely and great value for money. The views are incredible!
The only downside for us was the neighbours made it more than clear they are not happy about a holiday let being on the street, (more than happy to discuss this with the own otherwise, a great stay.
Fantastic and very special property with great layout and views. We were a group of 9 adults for our annual meetup. We found the place a great launching point for various Cornwall adventures, as well as a wonderful place to simply relax at the house. Very easy in and out. Good WiFi. A couple of good restaurants (Unicorn and Blue Bar) in walking distance and the access to the Coastal Path was phenomenal!
Very happy with our stay. Large house. 4 toilets with the two bathrooms and two showers. Well equipped kitchen. Toaster, kettle, coffee machine etc. Beautiful view. Perfect bedding. Would come again and again.

June stay
Good location ,brilliant view, enjoyable stay.property a little unkempt around the edges,no upkeep or contact whilst there(grass cutting or maintenance) but the location and view made up for this
My family and I enjoyed staying at this property - nice lay out so you all have your own little bit of space but nice big communal areas for spending time together - the hosts have left lots of condiments/cleaning products/utensils so you don’t need to buy/take lots of things with you - really pretty view. Sunsets are 10/10 and are visible from most of the house. The nearby beach has a lovely local/community feel to it.
Overall - very happy with our stay
We stayed for 3 nights over a Weekend in March, and even with iffy (cold, bit rainy) it was wonderful. House is exactly as shown in the pics - immaculate -- with unexpected beautiful views from not only the family room (with huge expanse of glass including out onto the patio) but also from the master and from the kitchen. The setting at the end of the street means you get both water and headline views, with nothing in between, and walk directly unto the headland trails. Big kitchen, big dining room, plenty of comfy beds and bathrooms for 10 people. Loved this, will plan to come back,.
Our family gathering of five adults and three children had more than enough room and were very comfortable for our three nights. I won’t repeat what other reviews have said about the positive aspects, view and location; however, I feel that renters need to be aware that there are some issues in the property that would benefit from investment to improve the quality of the interior fabric.
• The LED lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms is very dim and cold creating an uninviting atmosphere
• Many of the windows are completely misted (view spoiler) between the panes and unable to be opened
• The fireplace door does not completely close which creates a draft that accelerates burning. The fire is best with the door open once it lights but be aware that smoke will reverse into the room as the heat decreases. There is also a constant draft coming into the living room from the fireplace flue
• The glass doors in the living room do not seal completely and very draughty with a strong southwest wind
• The paintwork in places needs attention. For example, the sea facing front bedroom has a large area where the paint has peeled away around the window, most likely due to moisture
• The patio table and chairs need a good sanding and oiling to remove the lichen and preserve the wood
• If you want to plug your phone in by the bed, you may have to unplug the table lamp from the outlet
Nevertheless, we were all extremely pleased with the property and would love to return same time next year.
Cute cottage with amazing views of stunning beach & coastline.
This is a well-equipped Cottage with good facilities. Location is great, right on the SW Coastal Path with 2 pubs on the Blue Flag sandy beach close-by.

We are a family with Cornish roots who love Porthtowan. We bought the Beach Cottage for the stunning views over the beach and coastline beyond. We furnished the house to a high standard with 1 to 2 families in mind, so you can have a relaxing holiday in Cornwall.
