Ca' Leonessa is a recently (2010) restored luxury apartment located in the heart of Venice. It is a short walk from the bus and railway stations. Due to its superb location all the sites of Venice are either within walking distance or a couple of stops on the vaporetto. In the furnishing of the apartment the prime consideration has been to create a comfortable and welcoming oasis for you after a busy days sight seeing in magical Venice.

The living room (which overlooks the canal and the Campo San Barnaba) features two Natuzzi sofa's (one double sofa bed) a Linn sound system and HD television with DVD/CD player.

Both bedrooms are bright and airy with comfortable beds and have plenty of hanging/storage space in the bespoke wardrobes. Bedroom 1 has a luxurious double bed with fine linens and traditional Venetian fabrics. Bedroom 2 has two single beds. Both bathrooms are fully tiled with power showers.

The kitchen has been hand built and features dining for 6.

What a way to experience Venice
We had a fantastic time at this wonderful property. From booking to communication, it was all done with ease. The property was spacious enough for 4 adults and was close to everything. Being on a canal was just beautiful, we really felt that we where experiencing the life of a Venetian.. Food, shops and atmosphere were all at our fingertips. Highly recommend this property!!!

Felt like home
This was our third stay at Cá Leonessa so it really did feel like home. Both the agent and owner are helpful and flexible. The apartment overlooks a small canal in a charming, lived-in part of Dorsoduro, our favourite area somewhat removed from the spritz glitz and clamour of other parts of Venice. The little bar across the bridge does a brisk trade at night (don't worry, it's not too loud or intrusive). Popular with locals, the fruit and vegetable boat is practically at the front door, a fabulous pasticceria is just around the corner, and a supermarket, excellent butcher and fishmonger (some mornings) are all close by. Just like home, the apartment could use a little attention to one or two areas, but nothing major, on the whole it is and always has been a very comfortable apartment, airy with good natural light, in a fabulous position in terms of vaporette access, touring Venice and living like a local. Wifi is excellent too.

Apartment was amazing with everything we needed and just a short walk from restaurants and shops. Far enough away from the centre to be away from the crowds a bit but still very easily walkable.

Wonderful venice stay
We had a lovely stay in dorsoduro. Jon and his local hosts were always availableand prompt.. An Authentic venetian apartment, very clean and with modern facilities. It has the athmosphere of a genuine holiday home with canal views below. It's not a bland bnb. The photos are accurate. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Lots of local bars, cafe, restaurant nearby. The main vaporetto is within 5 mins walk or choose to walk 15mins to st marco/rialto ( if u don't get sidetracked in the alleys ;) Enjoy ! Have already recommended to friends visiting later this year

Wonderful stay in a beautiful city
The apartment is in an excellent location close to transport bars and cafes. But the surrounding area is relaxed and peaceful. Our flight was delayed, so our late arrival disrupted Julia's schedule - nevertheless she was able to be with us within 15 minutes of our arrival at the meeting point - with a wonderful welcome and orientation. The apartment is spacious, clean and is equipped everything you need for a short (or long) stay. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful short break
Location of apartment ideal for visiting the main tourist attractions and good mix of locals and tourists around.. Apartment equipped with everything required and of high quality. Outlook over the canal was really interesting and included the famous fruit and veg barge. Wonderful baker within yards and a useful supermarket really close plus an abundance of cafes nearby. Great property, wonderful location!
We enjoyed our visit very much. A lovely property with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living space, nice bathroom and wonderful location. Our host representative was responsive and extremely helpful. Dorsoduro is quiet, full of great restaurants, a convenient grocery store, pharmacy, etc. Close to the vaporetto with easy access to airport and train station via water taxi. Two special amenities? Window screens and Sonos system! Just great!

We were 3 friends visiting Venice. The apartment was very cosy and very well equipped with all we needed for our stay. Near to supermarket, bakery and restaurants. I loved watching all the students from the bedroom window going to college and school, one felt part of Venetian life!! I would recommend this apartment.

A great home in Venice
The property was great—well-equipped, amazing location. It was easy to walk to any attractions we wanted, and there’s a market ( floating!) on your doorstep with bakery and grocery just around the corner. Perfekte Lage
Sehr schöne Wohnung, liebevoll ausgestattet, in gefühlt fast touristenfreiem Gebiet, zahlreiche Lokale in der Nähe, auch ein Supermarkt oder andere Lebensmittelläden. Nur ein paar Schritte zum Vaporetto Ca Rezzonico, 15 min zu Fuß zur Rialtobrücke, 15 min zum Bahnhof. Das einzige Manko, was vielleicht an einer längeren vorhergehenden Nichtnutzung lag, war der etwas unangenehme Geruch in den Bädern aus den Abflussrohren. Trotzdem gerne wieder!

Das Apartment liegt in einem lebendigen Viertel direkt am Kanal. Die Ausstattung ist in die Jahre gekommen: Spülmaschine, WC Ablauf sind defekt, die Betten und Kissen müssten gereeinigt, die Badezimmer gründlich geputzt werden. Das erwarten wir beim nächsten Aufenthalt!

Cute place but…
Bathrooms smelled like stagnant water. Some black mold near the grout on the main shower and ceiling. That smell continued all 3 days we were there, the biggest drawback. Two college dorm refrigerators one had a small freezer that was frozen shut. It needs to be defrosted, because it’s not usable. Beds were comfortable, bedrooms were nice. Due to the humidity and only a washing machine, it took 36 hours to dry a small load of laundry. The apartment is located across from a wine bar so if you are a light sleeper you won’t get to sleep until after midnight.

4 Adults stayed in this apartment in a charming section of Venice. Just steps to the Leonardo Museum and the famous bridge of fists. This is a perfect location to be Immersed in a local neighborhood. We felt safe always. We walked the narrow walkways late into the night and before the sun came up. We all missed being in Venice when it came out time to leave. Hoping we can come back and stay in this wonderful apartment again one day.

We had stayed in this apartment in 2018. It remains a excellent location, easy access to water bus, grocery store , restraunts & shops . The atmosphere felt more Venetian than touristy . We had a free issues with plumbing, but the owner was prompt to have it assessed . Do read the apartment manual, it’s helpful if issues that may arise. We hope this apartment will be available again on our next trip.

The BEST location!
Property was perfect for 2 couples or a family. 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room. It has an unusual setup as you go in the front door and up a narrow flight of stairs. When you go into the apartment there is an entry and All other rooms are off that. So there is a door to the kitchen and one to the living room, as well as each nedroom. It worked well for us as we could get up early and go into another room and close the door so it was quiet for those still sleepingAll overlooking a fairly quiet yet lovely canal and close to nice little squares with grocery, restaurants, and gelato! It is in an historic old building. Ireneet is at the Vaporetto stop and assisted us with our luggage to the apartment. The water taxi was unable to take is to the apartment because of high water level so had to drop is at the stop. Check in was smooth and checkout simple too.
