We really enjoyed this beautifully furnished and well equipped cottage. We appreciated the clear, concise instructions for all appliances which were displayed where needed rather than having to rummage through a folder. A beautiful area to stay in. We loved walking at the nearby Carsington Water. It hasan excellent visitors' centre and cafe/restaurant.
Alison and Peter are fantastic hosts - very welcoming and gave great advice about local amenities and the best places to visit. Our thanks to you both for a wonderful stay.
The cottage is very well presented, comfortable and clean. It was obvious that all Covid protocols had been followed. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay in this lovely cottage in such a beautiful part of the country. Wirksworth is a real gem too.
This is a super little cottage. We found it spotlessly clean, very tastefully furnished and lovely and comfortable. Peter and Alison were such lovely hosts, providing local travel advise and recommendations for our stay. The location of this property is convenient for easy access to walks, bike rides, popular towns and tourist attractions. Would recommend anytime.
Cannot fault actual property - super shower, cosy, very clean.
Personal requirements were to be able to (short) walk from home without getting in car, but this is not recommended from this property. Road was quite busy and we sleep with windows open.
Great, helpful hosts.
The property was easy to find and we could park right next to the house, off the main road. The facilities were faultless, clean, comfortable and there was everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed and the biscuits left for us made our first cup of coffee all the more refreshing. The bathroom was spacious and clean with plentiful hot water for the shower.
Our hosts were friendly and helpful but not invasive.
We would stay again if we revisited the area.
We received a very warm welcome from the friendly owners who were helpful throughout our stay with their knowledge of the area. Communication regarding the property before our arrival was faultless. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was easy to find and was only a short drive from Wirksworth centre. We would certainly consider staying at this property again if we came back to this area. Peter and Alison were excellent hosts.

Excellent stay
We really loved Godfrey Hole. It was warm and cosy and very well equipped. We'd love to come back as there's so much to see and do in the area. And the owners were very flexible about altering our booking when snow hit. Thank you.

excellent warm home in a beautiful area
Fantastic 4-day stay with our kids at Godfrey Home. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, cosy launch, where after a full day of being outside the kids could watch a movie. Felt like being at home. The occasional visit of Godfrey the peacock. Peter and Alison are such nice people who clearly do the things they do with love and attention. The location is very central. Many nice places to visit in the near surroundings. What a beautiful country side. We fell in love with it. Visiting a place is also about the people you meet, and thanks to the very warm hosts the experience for us was unforgettable.

Comfortable well equipped cottage
We loved our stay in Godfrey Hole Cottage. It was clean and well equipped for five of us with comfortable beds and cosy wood burning stove. It was a great base for exploring this part of the Peak District, with scenic walking and cycle trails, caves, fishing and lovely local market towns. Pete and Ali were very welcoming - we'll definately be back!
