What a lovely place to stay. The house had everything you need. Newly decorated with all new furniture too. Facility’s were spot on and with the patio you have beautiful views of the see both indoors and out. Property had a huge patio too with a gate backing onto the beach. Couldn’t have wished for more. Host was very helpful and quick to respond. We will definitely retur. Thank you for a lovely stay x
The property has been updated since the photo's were taken so we were really surprised but pleased to see lovely new reclining settees and redecoration in the lounge. Property was so nicely presented and was lovely and cozy.Would definitely recommend and are hoping for a return visit. Great restaurants close by and would certainly recommend The Seal. Housekeeper was really pleasant when we contacted her. Thank you for letting us stay.
As a family we needed a perfect place to stay especially for my Mum who has major mobility issues. When we arrived it was perfect, the sofa was amazing for Mum to sit and watch the sea all day, she could hear the waves, smell the sea air, the house was perfect for all of us, and getting around was easy for Mum, her room being on ground floor. The twin room overlooks the sea and at night you can hear the waves. The property was clean, beds comfortable, location fantastic especially if you need a holiday that’s going to be mainly at the house with the beech as your garden. The value for us was affordable, and I’ve seen reviews that say it’s dated. But honestly, it’s clean, comfortable, stunning views, everything you need to have a wonderful stay ON the beech…even if you are needing to sit on the sofa! For us, it was all we needed. Our only small point is that the toilets if you are disabled are quite low, but they do have hand rails on ground floor. We will book again

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Brilliant location but needs a bit of work!
We stayed here 5 years ago & again had a good week. On the whole, the house is comfortable, surface clean (although a deep clean is needed) & fairly well equipped. The location is obviously the biggest selling point.
There are issues though, which could be resolved with a little work & TLC.
More & up to date info in the house folder would be useful, including bin days.
In bedroom 2 upstairs, the curtains are thin & coming of the tracks so the room is too light in the middle of the night plus curtain tie back hanging off wall on left side.
TV remotes in the bedrooms don’t work - we even tried new batteries but still didn’t work!
The biggest issue is the bathroom upstairs. Calling it a shower is a bit of a stretch! The bath is slippery with no bathmat. The ‘shower’ is a tap attachment & no holder on the wall. You can’t shower without soaking the walls, which are not tiled or splashing the floor as there is no screen. A previous review mentioned the damp smell & this is probably why. There is also a small hole in the wall next to the window & when windy sounds like a wind tunnel.
Stripping all beds seems a waste of everyones time if not all used – just ask guests which are needed and only make those up.
We were charged £50 extra for the dog as 8 days took us into a second week, but still have to clean up prior to leaving with a Dyson vacuum with poor suction & no hose attachments!
This review seems a bit negative but it’s mostly cosmetic & we would consider staying again.
The property is spacious, great sea views and comfortable beds. However, it is extremely outdated and only surface clean. Radiators are old and rusty, lounge ceiling badly stained, shower cubicle in downstairs bedroom needs a good clean. Upstairs bathroom smells really damp and musty. Bedroom furniture is really old and smelly. Curtains are hanging off the walls and windows are filthy.
It is also busy with people and cars because it is directly on a very busy coastal path.
Location and sea views are the main attraction for this property
Had a lovely few days away and love the location. House is very comfortable and clean and would definitely stay again. We did feel the house could do with a freshen up and the garden area needs some TLC but apart from that, no complaints whatsoever.
Me my wife and two grown up daughters stayed here over Easter. The house as others have said, feels more spacious than the pics suggest. It works really well, and the location straight on to the beach is just great. We were lucky to have good weather and the sunsets were amazing.
Would highly recommend a visit to West Wittering beach, one of the best beaches I've been to.
All in all would highly recommend this house to anyone that enjoys the sea!
This was our second time staying at the house. The house is spacious and ideal for families. There are all the things you need for a self catering holiday. The town, restaurants and bars are all in a very easy walking distance. There were also restaurants that deliver.
Having the beach and the fabulous sea views from your living room was great, very relaxing, we spent a lot of time outside on the decking area this time as the weather was very warm. We will definitely stay here again.
lovely property and the location - being disabled myself and having elderly parents it was just perfect. We were spoilt with the weather also which was an added bonus so spent many an area of the patio area watching the world go by and were even lucky enough to have seal swim by.. Perfectly clean, although some parts could do with a bit of an up date but this does not spoil the stay.
Love this house have been here many times now. Perfect for walks along the seashore and into the town. Always clean and tidy. The only downside is if you have elderly people the toilets are really low, although there are bars to help you get up.
Nice house, great views, only downside was cars continually coming into car park, of course there is nothing can be done about that, otherwise most enjoyable week.
Very clean and tidy, Everything you could need provided Beautiful views Ideal for a quiet seaside break We enjoyed it very much ideal for our dog.
If I were to be critical at all then some aspects of the garden could be tweaked But wouldn’t hesitate to book again
We have been to No. 1 Shore House before and were very happy with the facilities as my mobility is not good. Top marks for the aids you have put in the building.
The view is absolutely stunning plus we had lovely weather hopefully I will be able to come again next year.
Thank you very much.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Easter. A great find! Perfect location and a little gem of a house very deceiving i how spacious it is from the pics. We will definitely be staying again !
The house was in a great position with brilliant views out to sea and the beach.
There was a decking area to catch the sunshine and keep out of the wind.
The house was much roomier than we thought from the pictures. There is everything you would need for a self catering stay. 7 minutes walk up the road is the first pub and within 10 mins you are in the town with plenty of places to eat and get take aways.
The two parking spaces out the front of the house are a bonus.
We would definitely stay here again.
Many thanks
